Practical, economical, reliable
My family currently owns two 2009 Kia Rondos. I liked the first one so much that when it was time to get another car, I opted for more of the same. The safety features, Consumer Reports review and low price in class were what drew my attention to the 2009 Kia Rondo. I like how it's a mini minivan -- it's not low to the ground, so I can see over some of the other cars on the road (great for when you're in traffic). It's relatively small, so it's easily maneuverable -- parallel parking is a breeze. It's got standard features -- nothing really luxurious about it. Nevertheless, I really enjoy driving and riding in it. It's comfortable and fun.

Okay car
Car is okay but it has several performance issues. Pros: - Okay car - decent room - 7 seat but if you use all of them there is no room for luggage. Cons: - One of them is acceleration. - Too sensitive for the fuel cap..this gives "Check Engine Light" - Rust

Best car ever owned
Bought car in Tucson from Kia with 20k. Now has 113k on it. Other than tires, battery and a couple of bulbs, no problems. Just having some wheel bearing work to do but that's nothing as the car was driven hard. Now in Minnesota and handles ok in medium snow.

Solid reliable versatile wagon
We purchased this wagon pre-owned, one year old. We have owned it for seven years and have used it as a family vehicle and also my daughter used it later to commute to college. It performed well from the rainy weather of the Northwest to the heat of Dallas summers. AC is solid, no problems with an major systems at all. The Rondo is a great small family vehicle with the ability to seat five or seven and the option to use the hatchback for larger items when needed. We loved our little run run Rondo.

Love my Kia - Hate the dealership (Bessada Kia)
~ Do not buy from Bessada Kia~ I did some of research before I decided to buy my Kia Rondo. I have not been disappointed. Even though it's a 2009 it is still running smoothly. It handles very well, is very comfortable and great on gas. I haven't had any issues, just the usual wear and tear. I love that it's so roomy for a small vehicle and can carry quite a bit when the seats are collapsed to widen the trunk space. ~Do Not Buy from Bessada Kia~

Snow good Kia.
We love our Kia, but no matter what good comes from it, our hatred of the snow and ice that builds up in the wheel wells will forever plight our ownership of it. It isn't uncommon in the winter to have to stop every 10 miles because we hear ice scraping on the tire. You can kick it of but then the whole darn wheel well falls apart over time as the plastic clips fall and break off from kicking the ice... so I suggest keeping your tire iron up front in the winter (you'll never use the factory one for actually changing a tire, it's too short, and you'll have to buy a better one for that, anyways) As I said, it's sad, because its a beastly little machine otherwise, and probably a wonderful car for anyplace without snow. (A point seemingly made by the fact that the AC defaults to on)

5 years and the Rondo is still great.
In 2010 I bought a 2007 Rondo with 36k miles on it. Five years later -- and several ROUND TRIP drives from NJ to SW Florida the Rondo is flawless. It has adequate power (2.4 liter), LOADS of carrying space, decent mileage (29 highway), a comfortable driving position and is the most space efficient and PRACTICAL car I've ever owned. I've done nothing more than routine maintenance (oil, tires, battery) and not driven it like a fool. It's been great. And since it has a timing CHAIN not a belt, no expensive repair coming up. Kia still sells the car worldwide as the Rondo/Carens and it's still a big seller in Canada. I guess Kia decided to drop it in the US because it would be directly competing with their very own Sportage. If you want a good reliable car but don't want to break the bank I would recommend it. Like any other car, just do the maintenance. I haven't had to use the warranty. I bought it for price and have been VERY happily surprised with the Rondo.

Noy a trust worthy car!
MY Kia is ok but not the best. I starting to not trust the car to get me back home. It seem to want to power off at t imes and no one knows why; maybe the engin problem I read about in this fourm. I'm on the road in the wee hours and this cars issues has me unsettled. The car does hadnle well, but within a month of me owning it all the plastc stuff inside started breaking, the eyeglass holder, the button that turn on the inside lights and one day a screw just fell out of sunvisor, It's an expensive cheap car with issues. I like the little card but I don't like problems and the is becoming a problem.

worst ever including Kia Mfg. support
engine bit the dust 8 miles after warranty. Kia claimed no responsibility. Said not using Kia oil filters invalidated the warranty. Took it to closest local dealer before the 100,000 miles and THEY said "take it back where you bought it." NEVER AGAIN.
