Most Reliable Vehicle I've Owned
The Kia Sodona 2006 has features that varies from fitting a large family to transporting large items purchased. This wagon has sufficient room for a large family on vacations to family outings. It also has a large area for storage behind the third seat. There is a large rack for storing luggage. It is also convenient for some moving of large items.

Disappointed and Frustrated
After a month I had to take the car back to have all of the brakes replaced. This car has had a least half a dozen recalls (maybe more). I have taken it in for the same problem with the sliding door 5 times. I finally insisted that they fix it permanently! There have been several other issues that I had to have addressed. All were minor and covered by warranty, but still a MAJOR inconvenience. I have had this car 3.5 years and have recently replaced all four rotars and pads and put on 4 new tires. The pros are that it is very comfortable, handles surprisingly well for a minivan, looks nice, and has a great sound system. The gas mileage is poor. Even though they state a range, you will really only get the lower end of that. I read an expert review on this site and the person stated he got like 25 mpg on the highway. He's nuts! I never got higher than 19 the first year. It went down to 17.9 after that. My new tires helped a little with gas mileage (now it's 18.5). The service people were always very nice, but I saw them more than my in-laws. In fact, I just took my car in today. I was there just a month ago! I am actually thinking of trading this in for a Toyota, but the trade-in value is poor and I don't like the idea of having more months of payments. The idea that you get more for your money at Kia is misleading since I lost money beyond the initial cost and the monthly payments and if I factor in all the time and aggravation...well, you understand.

Love the van except, I have a problem with the hor
Horn only works part of the time. It will work if I hit it real hard and then will continue to work for a while. Dealer cannot find the problem

It was a great vehicle......
I absolutely LOVED my 2006 Sedona! Loved the color, the room and all the great features. BUT, since out last inspection(July 2008), I have had to have my KIA in for repair 3 times for the same three items! I can not keep a headlight lit, the CHECK ENGINE light keeps coming on and the ESC OFF light keeps coming on. This happened on a busy highway and my hubby literally had to pull over, stop the van and shut it off and restart it. When this ESC OFF light comes on there is absolutely NO POWER to the vehicle. My front brakes grind so bad(and I've had them looked at/repaired twice!) it frightened us into not driving home through the mountains while coming home from vacation. It's a major inconvenience to drop the vehicle off and to have the dealership tell us that they "could not duplicate noise or symptom" I hate to say it but next time, I won't buy a KIA. It's a shame that they have such a great product but that NO ONE can seem to make such simple repairs and make them last. Also, there is only 19,000 miles on the vehicle. I only get 14.2 miles to the gallon also.

Best van out there...
Bought new in Dec 06 with 13 miles on it. Have driven 13000 miles without a single problem. Pros for this van are the seats that stow for alot of storage. Dual climate is great for the kids in back. Airbag sensor in the front passenger seat. The dual sliding doors is great for the accessability. At first my wife did not want a van and now she does not want to get rid of it. The gas MPG is pretty good considering this is a van. The one and only con to this is that there is not a local dealer-- so we would have to drive 2 hours away. Other than that, this is a great van and I don't think my wife will ever part with this one.

I like it so far
I bought mine with 25,000 miles on it and have driven it for 3 months with no problems. I needed a van to cart around stuff for work and it is roomy and easy to get rid of the seats or get them back. It drives well and gets decent gas milage for something so big but the reason I bought it was the safety features and the warranty. The only negative is that the radio isn't very good and the clock is hard to see in the daytime.

Outstanding Vehicle
Yes, we did look at the Hondas and the Toyotas before the Kia and we liked it best. The bang for your buck factor is unbeatable. We've had our Sedona for a year and a half and so far it's been rock solid, and we love it. We've taken it on a few road trips, including one during a snowstorm in Wisconsin and this baby never missed a beat and never slipped on the snow. Only 2 minor complaints, I wish it had daytime running lights and a telescoping steering wheel.

Worst New Vehicle I Have Owned
I purchased my van in July 2006 brand new - only 17 miles on it. I started having trouble in March 2007, again in August 2007 and now in January 2008. All 3 different problems. Each time I was without a vehicle for several days - one time over a week. I have had this much trouble now, I am really afraid of what's going to happen when the warranty is out. I have called Kia & they are sorry, there is nothing they can do about it..........

Perfect for small children
This van has been a God send for our family of 5. The kids are happy to look out the many windows or watch movies and their bulky car seats still leave plenty of breathing room. The van's handling is superb. It reminds me of the grip I had with my Honda Civic. We still have not skidded even in black ice conditions knock on wood. Kia is true to their word on the warranty. We had to have an electrical system software update but everything was 100% covered as promised. My husband is 6' 5" and drives comfortably without feeling cramped. Highly recommended. P.S. Strongly encourage purchase of power doors. Worth every bit of the extra cost for the extra help when you're juggling 3 kids under 5 years old.

What a Shame!
This was our first KIA and our last. We bought the Sedona EX right off the show room floor. Initiall we were very pleased, but now after a year and a half and only 14,000 miles we are very disappointed. The climate controls have burned out twice, once at 1,200 miles, and then again at 14,000. The second time was right before a 32 degree cold spell in which we had to go a whole week with no heat. The dealership would not give us a loaner vehicle because (and I quote) "KIA did not provide that service for its customers." We did receiver our loaner after we complained to KIA, 6 days after no heat and one day before it was fixed. Not sure whether to blame KIA or the dealership.
