I've had this car for 6 months now and I still love it to this day. I read a review about the bluetooth and how the person they were talking to couldn't hear them, but I haven't had that problem. The person I'm talking to can hear me and I can hear them just fine. I purchased the additional cleaning package at the dealership the day I bought the Soul. I took my car in a week or so after I bought it and the dealership sprayed the exterior and interior to help keep it looking like new. Then, a few weeks after that Kia sent me car wash, polish, glass cleaner, and vinyl cleaner. That stuff works great. Makes me actually get out there and clean my car on my own since it does such a better job than the automatic car washes you go through. I don't drive much, in 6 months I've only driven 3,000 miles. I had a Hyundai Elantra before this and gas mileage-wise, it's about the same. I haven't had any problems with the car, which I shouldn't by this time. There are so many great features you get with this car you can't pass it up. I test drove a Nissan Cube and Scion xB after I drove the Kia Soul. It's the test drive that sold me. The brakes on this car are unbeatable. You barely have to touch them to stop the car. The Cube seemed a little top heavy, and I didn't like the front view I had with the Cube and Scion. I couldn't tell where the corner or front end of the car was while driving. I'm sure over time I would learn, but I can easily see where it is with the Soul. The Kia dealership was the best out of all of them. Since you can't haggle with the Scion, that was really going to be a last resort. The Nissan dealership was only willing to drop the price 500 dollars. They told me this after I had already driven the cars and knew I liked the Kia better, but it was a bit more expensive than the others. However, in the end Kia went down the most to cheaper than what I would have had to pay for the Cube and xB. We got the deal on the last day of November, so I'm a believer that if you wait for the end of the month you can get yourself a deal. This car turns great, has enough power to get going after a stop, and handles corners and sharp turns without a problem. The doors open wide - great for moms who need to get children buckled in or fit car seats through the doors. Kia gave me 6 months free for the satallite radio, and I only thought I was getting a 3 month trial period. I know this is a long review, but if you haven't test driven one or are still stuck on what to get - I totally recommend this car.

The Best Safe Car To Buy Your Kids (or Yourself)

I know this is not your usual review but hopefully someone will read it and buy this car for its survivability. I may have been one of the first to buy this car because Geico did not even know it existed. I am a big man 6'3 and about 350 but I fit easily into the drivers seat and was able to get out of the car as easily as getting out of my Van. The only complaint I had about the car was the bluetooth phone buttons on the wheel were somehow programed in French and nobody was able to reset them...ever. (That and the car is what it is...a small little car that will make you wish for that one extra gear on the highway which would have made long trips MUCH more enjoyable) The point of all this is that by Thanksgiving of 2015 I had 78,000 miles on it and had driven it from Washington DC to Orlando several times...the last to let my youngest son borrow it while his truck was getting fixed. My son took it to visit his brother for Thanksgiving and in the last intersection before he got there this lady decided that it was ok for her to turn left and essentially T-boned him right in the drivers door and back seat door.....hit him so hard he spun like a top and hit one of those big boxes that controls the lights....the drivers side looks like it got hit by a wrecking ball...the rest of the car looks pristine. My son walked from the accident from bruises caused by the seat belts and not another scratch. So....when the dust settled you can bet that I am going to use the insurance money that I get to buy another Kia Soul....and if you value safety in a car that looks awesome and runs circles around the Box Car then this is for you. If you want pictures I would be happy to post them

2 months ago, I got the Soul Exclaim-and have just had a blast with it! It is roomy (my husband is 6'2 and can easily sit in it) and fun to drive and has a nice bit of zoom to it. The sound system is great and I love the speaker lights! I like the look of it and especially love my sunroof! If you are looking for a fun, zippy car to drive around in with great safety features, this is it! I got the fabulous green color called Alien! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

Enjoyed the car (have parked the SUV) as a low cost mileage vehicle. So far (35,000 miles) the vehicle has performed as intended. Cons: Bluetooth sketchy, works with some items and not with others. Gas mileage: 24-27mpg driving very conservatively 2L ALL the plastic scratches easily!!! Inside and outside.

The Kia Soul is a good vehicle and a great value for the money .With a 100,000 mile warranty on the powertrain makes it a smart buy. The plastic scratches easly but your not buying a car, this is more of a utility vehicle where you put items in and out of it and it will scratch the plastic. I bought the top of the line one which they call the ! it is loaded with features that you pay more for from other car manufactures. The ride does take some getting use to. Remember this is not a car this is more of a light utility vehicle that is good on fuel. In my opinion buy the upgraded package with the sport shifting package (automatic, clutchless manual transmission )you will be happier with this choice and the 2.0 litre engine. I get 32 miles per gallon on the highway an 26 in the city which I feel is good for the type of vehicle that you are driving. Kia has come a long way from what they use to be so do noy shy away from them.

Pros: The base model new car price is a great value with all the safety options. I have taken the car on a few 4x4 roads in the Yellowstone area in the summer, and the high clearance comes in handy. It’s like a two wheel drive SUV with a stiff suspension, but gets the MPG like a car. Speaking of MPG, It’s all over the map. I get between 25 and 45, with the average in the low 30s in the winter and mid to upper 30s in the summer, depending on driving conditions and gas quality. There is lots of room, and I camp in the back with the seats down if the weather is nasty. With aggressive tread snow tires in the front, I can get around in the mountains to do my skiing in pretty deep snow and the high clearance really helps. The car is built like a tank and you feel safe. You drop the hood down and it sounds solid, and the inside of the doors are solid and do not move in or out when pushing on them, unlike many other small cars. The sound system is really good for the base model. Visibility is good since you sit up higher than most cars, but it is a bit difficult to view out of the back while in reverse. Seats are comfortable if you like stiff seating, and there is heaps of room for tall people riding in the back seat. (More room than most small cars). Reliability is fine, and the 10 year warranty gives you a nice peace of mind knowing you will not have to soak any unexpected money into it. The car is underpowered a bit, but if you need speed for an on ramp, you can get it by hitting the gears at higher rpms. It’s fun to drive and looks great. Cons: The engine is noisy at higher rpms. (The new 6 speeds should take care of this problem). Conclusion: If you want a fast agile little sports car with good acceleration, then this base model is not for you. But if you want exceptional value, good quality, excellent safety (for a small car), dependability, practicality, fairly good MPG, durability, good looks, fun factor, reliability, with no future worries, then this car is for you!

I've been driving my new 2010 Kia Soul for a few weeks now and I have to say it's high on the FUN factor. It's like an adults GoCart on STEROIDS. There is so much to like about this car. Lots of great tech features, sits up so I feel like I'm driving a small SUV, all the knobs/buttons and tactiles feel solid and quality, LOVE how the console and speakers light up at night, the heat comes on fast and gets HOT (I live in MinneSNOWta btw), stable on the snowy or wet roads, tinted solar back windows for privacy, awesome stereo AND my insurance went down $100 because of the high safety rating!!! The warranty is one of the best also. I got the alien green but my friends call it Mint Sherbet or ECO GREEN. Sat in the backseat and am astonished with how much room is back there for my friends. Anyways, the only flaw is the plastic on the side doors can scratch if you aren't sorta careful but otherwise I'm thrilled, THRILLED to have this car. It was well designed both inside and out.

Enjoying driving again. Love to open the sun roof and just let the air flow, hardly ever use the air. Just the right height, seats are very comfortable and allow you to bring your legs into a very comfortable sitting position. And lots of room under break pedal to stretch out. Has been great for my legs and hips on long trips. Great on gas and carries five adults very comfortable.//ch

This is the second KIA I have owned. I never had any problems with the first one until it was well over 100,000 miles and that's good enough for me! It's very easy for me to drive, the gas mileage is good, I get lots of comments about the styling. It's perfect to grocery shop in because the back seat folds down to allow lots of room. Planning to take a vacation in June and you can bet I'm driving my KIA.
