Small car With big value
I have had my car for about a month now. I went from a Mazda MPV to this. The gas mileage is better, anywhere from 26 to 29 combined driving vs. 19-22 in the van. Very quiet and comfortable with one complaint, I wish the driver had a better arm rest. I have the infinity sound system which is amazing! The car responds very well in all kinds of driving but I cannot verify winter yet as I just bought it. Large enough to haul everything so far with no complaints. My husband is on the tall side with plenty of room, I am on the short side but seat height adjustment takes care of that very well. Back up cam works nicely also. Pros: Comfy, roomy, nice sound system, good gas milage cons: No arm rest for driver, would like AWD.

My favorite Kia
This is my fourth Kia; my first was a Ford Aspire back in 1996. I've been hooked ever since. I liked the Soul since its introduction in 2009, but wanted to wait for Kia to work out the bugs inherent with any new product. It was worth the wait! The 2012 Soul I purchased has good power (2.0L engine), a decent interior, and a killer sound system. The ride is small-car bumpy, but I expected that. The stiff suspension makes it a kick to drive on a curved road. The 6-speed manual transmission is a little tricky to get used to, but it shifts smoothly. I like that the car tells you when to upshift; this helps in the adjustment to a 6-speed. There is good all-around visibility, and I noticed no true blind spots. The outside rearview mirrors are conveniently oversized. That panoramic windshield reminds me of the old days of huge cars with big front glass. The front visibility is worth the price of admission. Projector headlamps give great night vision, even without foglamps. The tailgate lifts effortlessly, and dropping the rear seats gives a relatively large cargo area. So far I am averaging 31.8 MPG; I expect better once the engine is a little more broken-in. Kia has a winner with this vehicle; one can hope they come out with an AWD option in the future.

Love this car
I shopped for over a year for a gas-friendly, economical crossover. After test driving the Soul, I test drove the Juke, Compass, Rogue. IMHO, the Soul won beat each of them w/ value, overall appearance, interior. It has a higher seat to easily enter/exit; the front windshield has no blindspots. I drove 1800, and average about 27-28 city/ 30-32 hwy. Love watching the mpg odometer. Everyone should read the Soul manual for great gas saving driving tips to maximize your mpg. I have saved so much gas $ in the past 2 months & became a better driver because of this manual. I got a Titanium Plus, w/leather seats & sunroof. I love this car!!!!

Terrific fun vehicle
We bought a Soul last year for my wife. She passed on higher end vehicles because she loved the quirky Soul. It has a surprisng amount of room I am a large man and am comfortable in either the front or back seat. We have had no problems with the car. In fact I am in the process of buying a second for my son, my wife won't fess up to it,but she doesn't want her beloved soul scratched by me or our son.

The perfect commuter car!
I'm approaching 7,000 miles on my 2012 Soul!. As it has broken in the mileage has improved greatly to almost 29 mpg city driving. I commute about 70 miles a day and the 2.0 engine and 6 . I am a big person and this is the only economy car that I actually felt comfortable in. Everything works well and is very intuitive. I cannot see how you could get more value for the dollar. Plus, this thing is a kick to drive! It feels like a go cart by drives and handles like a much more expensive automobile. The only issue I have with it is you simply cannot keep the mirrors clean in rainy or other bad weather. Unfortunately I have been forced to pull over and clean the mirrors so I can see out of them. Not great bordering on dangerous.

My Sporty Soul
I had such great performance from my Kia Optima so when it was time to purchase a new car, I wanted to stay with the brand. I liked the look of the Kia Soul having driven a small jeep many years ago. I adore my new black Soul. It's a nice looking vehicle and handles really well in inclement weather. It's compact, but runs like a bigger, more powerful car.

Weekend Test Drive
This review is based on a weekend test drive.. over the course of a few days, i am completely delighted with this vehicle... they have improved on pretty much every short fall of the 2010/2011 model... they improved engine power, upgraded transmission to 6 speed... added projector headlights and LED DRL's to the front as well as LED tail lights.... very flashy wheels, improved interior materials, and new steering.... My observations: has plenty of power, but would like to see a sport model with just a little bit more oomph... handles nicely, takes corners well. ride is a bit on the rough side, but i have the 18" low profiles to blame for that...the steering feels very light and easy...sound system is awesome! mine had UVO, no nav... voice activation works well once familiarized... PLENTY of room. seats may be a bit firm for some. Backup camera is very helpfull. it could use some more storage compartments, and electric seats as an option... my biggest gripe, no AWD available...overall, beyond satisfied...will be purchasing this vehicle.
