Not a very great reliable Sportage.

Not a very great reliable Sportage. My 2013nkia Sportage back doors locking mechanism has been faulty on both sides. I had issues 2 yrs ago on the rear driver side door and now just today. 3/24/26 the passenger rear door won't open inside or out. It's a safety issue. If I have passengers in the rear and the door locks are faulty, and my passenger or family member dies because I couldn't get to them, xxxx straight * will be suing the crap out of Kia for this issue. There needs to be a recall to fix this problem, not replacing it with another cheap part that will break in a few yrs again. and charge the customer an arm and leg for the cheap part. If you stand by your product and vehicles get it right and don't cause safety issue to the customer. This is very scary and crazy that this has happened twice to me.. If I could afford it I would definitely never buy Kia again and buy something better than this Piece of garbage..

Drove this car when I got my license.

Drove this car when I got my license. Had my first accident with this car. It's not bad but maybe I wouldn't recommend this car. •It has a small tank (50L) •Has large A pillars which requires you to be more careful. •The clutch is a bit too long in my opinnion, after driving different cars. •Gear ratios are too short, for example if you're driving 100km/h you have 3000rpm which requires more gas. And I don't know if this is correct but the engine lifespan is really short, I have over 135000km on it and the engine has started to make noises that tell me "soon I may blow up and it will be expensive"

Before my engine seizing I would of recommended this car.

Before my engine seizing I would of recommended this car. Having done the KSDS update and fuse replacement thought it would of been smooth sailing, wrong. Live in Canada, warranty expired 2023. Now my beloved Kia is deemed as scrap with a seized engine. Either pay so used motor (gamble) or junk it. Still not sure what to do.

My 2013 Kia Sportage!!

I have enjoyed my Kia Sportage. It gets good gas mileage on a trip. It is the sportiest car I have ever had. It is a good looking car. I love the wheel covers. I get compliments on the looks of it. I brought it from Alabama to Wyoming without a hitch.

Motors give out ! Only 138,000 miles

The motor locked and it only had 138,000 miles . The mechanic said the oil was good and no leaks so the motor was just bad . If there’s a recall can I get it repaired ? Now I’m without a vehicle . I heard Kia’s were great cars . So I guess not because it sure didn’t last long .

Loved it.

Excellent, eye catching exterior and interior design. Greatt handling, reliable, zippy, and an excellent infotainment system. Only downside is it's hard riding.... you'll feel about every bump. I loved the car until my gf wrecked. I miss it.

Engine blew after only owning it 6 months 42000 mi

I think it is junk and left me stranded in the middle of the night by myself. I've only owned it for 6 months. It has a recall for the engine blowing up that I never knew about.

Most Unreliable Car Ever!

If you’re thinking about purchasing a Kia, don’t do it. They do not stand behind their product. The engine suddenly failed on my 2013 Kia Sportage and even though there is a recall on the engine, Kia still refuses to repair it and there are apparently many others going through the same thing with Kia. Buy another make, Kia is not a trustworthy vehicle, the are engine failures on lots of their vehicles.

Engine Seized at 87k miles

Bought this as a used car. 34 days after purchase, at 87k miles, the engine seized. With the amount I have spent on the car and getting a new engine I could have bought a much nicer, newer car.

Very reliable.

This was my first car and I am so in love with it. It met all my expectations and the best part is I haven’t had any MAJOR issues with it at all. As long as you get it checked regularly, it’ll definitely last you awhile.
