Needed brakes at 20,200 km

I original got my first velar in early 2019, brand new. Had so many problems the dealership took it back and put me in a new one, November 2019. Was very happy. Now it’s October 2020, I have 20200 km and need all new brakes, rotors, and the sensor for all tires- NOT COVERED ON WARRANTY ! Brake warranty covers to 20000km, what the heck! So very disappointed in this dealership that I cannot wait to trade this thing in. Purchased in Ajax, Ontario Canada

This is a classy suv

This SUV handles extremely well, looks beautiful, and has many safety features. I have driven this vehicle in ice and snow a few times and it handled very well while other vehicles were in the ditch. Safety features are very important to me.

Great looking car

Comfortable, looks great, runs great. Very enjoyable to drive. Feels like a car from the future especially the inside and interior and the screens it has on the dash. My wife enjoys it and when I drive it I like the ride.

Fun to drive only problem is the Infotainment

Infotainment needs time to boot up on every start. Very occasionally it doesn't boot up at all. Otherwise great to drive and no other issues.

Don't buy this car, is not reliable

Unfortunately, since the time I bought this car (end of September 2018) I had many issues with my new Land Rover Velar 2019. First issues were mostly electrical (screen not working, error messages while being stopped at a red light, back camera not working, etc. I took the car in two opportunities and they explained these cars usually need software updates. I thought I should not waste my time taking the car to the dealer but did it…. I also had a weird noise with the breaks. They had to change them. Then I had to take the car for the Annual Service. They checked everything and in less than a month, my engine light was on! Took the car AGAIN and they said it was another engine software (not sure why no one update this when I took the car for my annual service?). But after taking the car 2 times, in less than a month my engine light went on AGAIN!! I was so upset and frustrated. The dealer suggested me that I contact Land Rover Customer Service for a Re-Purchase, as it’s obvious to me I have a defective car… After talking to someone for 38 minutes, she asked me many questions about my car, even if I have already paid for the car which we did, she simply said my case didn’t apply for re-purchase. She didn’t explain why or what was the criteria. Her only “solution” was for me to keep taking my car to the dealer. What type of solution is this? I asked to talk to her supervisor. She said he would call in the next 5 hours which he didn’t. He called passed the 5 hours and left a message saying I should follow this with the customer service representative, like ignoring my request of talking to him…. I’m EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED WITH LAND ROVER CUSTOMER SERVICE. My advice is: if you want a car that works and is reliable, PLEASE don’t buy this car, it’s gorgeous but it’s not reliable and customer service will not help you at all. They will just send you to the dealer and you will waste your time and money taking the car for service many times.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAR!

This is the worst car! It has more issues than I can type. The manufacturer does not care. It all depends on the dealer. You are in a loaner more than your car.

Too many problems so soon

I have had this Velar since the end of May 2019 and it has been in the shop 3 times for different things. But now it sounds like the fan is about to explode and I’m still having connectivity issues with Bluetooth or the radio not playing at all.

TWO MONTHS OLD/ BOUGHT BRAND NEW 150 MILES ON IT.

I bought my car on July 7, 2019. It has 2,000 miles on it and the bottom screen went out. Brought to dealership and now found several things. The car has been at dealer for two weeks now. The passenger door was not aligned right, the door panel was coming off. Needed a new Battery. The top liner needed replacement. They gave us a loaner and the screen in that went out also.

Range Rover Velar Is One Amazing Vehicle

Velar is a beautiful vehicle inside and out. The vehicle design leans more sports car than boxy SUV, and Velar is more than just a pretty face. When in dynamic mode , my R-Dynamic model is super fun to drive - responsive, nice solid road feel. The interior has an elegantly simple design. I feel like I am sitting in the pilot's seat of a spaceship and in control control. My vehicle is equipped with an abundance of technology that is surprisingly easy to master. A 17-speaker Meridian surround sound system fills the cabin with rich music - a wonderful system zero distortion even at high volumes. So far no complaints. I feel like I made a great choice.
