What Is the 2022 Lexus RX?

The five-seat Lexus RX mid-size luxury SUV is available in gas RX 350 or hybrid RX 450h form. There’s also a performance-oriented F Sport model and a three-row L version that seats up to seven. All use a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, and the RX 450h adds electric motors.

The RX 350 is available with front- or all-wheel drive. The RX 450h is all-wheel-drive only, with an electric motor driving the rear wheels. Competitors include the Cadillac XT5, Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.

What’s New on the 2022 Lexus RX?

There are no significant changes this year.

What Features in the 2022 Lexus RX Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 18-inch aluminum wheels
  • LED headlights
  • Dual-zone automatic air conditioning
  • 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert

Available features include:

Should I Buy the 2022 Lexus RX?

Often credited with creating the luxury crossover SUV class, the Lexus RX continues to please buyers looking for refinement, but our editors find it less engaging to drive than some competitors. The Remote Touch multimedia interface remains frustrating, but the inclusion of a touchscreen makes it less of an issue than it was previously. The cramped third row in extended L versions is of dubious usefulness.

  • Great Car

This is my second Lexus. I originally had an ES 350 which was a wonderful car. I am very happy with the Lexus RX It drives nicely, is roomy, spacious, comfortable, and is an excellent car to own

  • Poor hard shifting and surging/not starting

Bought a brand new 2022 Rx 350, Car has had issues with hard down and up shifting/surging-to the point of almost getting rear ended. Then the intermittent not starting happened with 1980's infotainment system lighting up and nothing when foot on brake pedal, which is getting worse now at 24k and needing to re sync key and a couple tries later, will start-NOT reliable. Don't even get me started on the rear hatch sensor-a million dollars couldn't get me to open it. I'm seeing all these other customers complaining at the dealerships over the shifting issues and online-can't be just me!

  • Pleasant Not Perfect

Nice safe reliable car. But seats are not as comfortable as my Mercedes. Performance and handling are adequate but not exceptional. Electronics can be annoying and a distraction. Definitely a car for people who value reliable transportation over an engaging driving experience.

  • Great vehicle!

It might be early for my review, since we have only owned the car a month; however, the Lexus has so far lived up to its reputation. I'm still getting used to all the electronics, but there are a number of safety features that enhance the driving experience.

  • 2022 RX 350 Premium…The last of the finest.

I bought my 2022 RX 350 Premium in February, it rides comfortably and the outward visibility is good, overall built in quality and safety features makes you feel at ease and confident on the road ahead, I’m 64 yrs old 6’2 230 lbs and both front ventilated seats are very comfortable. Don’t believe the hype of the Mark Levinson audio system which in itself an excellent addition adds up $$$ to the overall price and unless you have to drive a concert hall all day it is not needed, the built in quality HD system on the Premium suffices for most users, the added CD is a welcoming experience for an old gizzard like me and my classical CD’s. I do not care to start my vehicle using my smartphone, personally the Lexus app is not useful to me, as my choice is to start the vehicle the old fashion way key-fob in my pocket. Thus far I do not use the kick sensor for the power rear door it’s simply enough to touch the bottom on the rear tailgate. I find the touch pad user friendly, no convoluted problems using it on my 8’ inch screen, love the dials quality buttons on the 8 inch screen as well. This RX 350 2022 model is the last of the V6 smooth buttery engines with sufficient power and acceleration yet economical enough, it doesn’t require 91 octane gasoline as it is engineered to perform on 87 octane. Overall I’m very pleased with my 2022 RX 350 and plan to keep it until death keeps us apart. Thank you for reading my heartfelt review.

  • Best Vehicle Ever!

I am on my 4th RX350. I love my current 350 but it is 10 years old so I’m looking to replace it. Would not consider another car. It is like new with only 79,500 miles. They are great vehicles.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS CAR

This car locks while the car is running and the keys are inside. I understood when I purchased this car two months ago this WAS NOT the case. It is very dangerous. Two times now my 2022 rx350 with 3000 miles has locked with they key inside.

  • AMAZING PLACE TO SHOP!

Hi, my name is Monica, on 11/18/22. I visited the Lexus car dealership at 2600 Fulton st. in Sacramento.I had the most beautiful encounter with Angel the car salesman, Robert in finance, and Brian the store manager. They all demonstrated exceptionally great customer service going above and beyond, making sure that I walk away happy. I pull off in my brand new RX 350 Lexus. • Disappointed

Just bought new rx350 2022 with 4 miles and the car already makes noise and raddle, I took in the dealer and they couldn’t figure out the issue; they said to bring it again on Tuesday. Very disappointed, I have an Acura I have been using for 7 years I never took to a mechanic for anything other than oil change or breaks
