Following the SUV’s significant overhaul for the 2023 model year, the Lexus RX largely carries over for 2024 with only minimal color and trim changes. The biggest news is the addition of a plug-in hybrid variant, known as the RX 450h+. Lexus has released full pricing of the luxury SUV, which is the brand’s bestselling model so far in 2023, and the 2024 RX has a starting price of $49,950 (all prices include a $1,350 destination fee).

Luxury Plugged In

New for 2024 is the 450h+ variant, which resides at the top of the RX family tree and is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to two electric motors and standard all-wheel drive. Combined output is 304 horsepower and, according to Lexus, the PHEV needs 6.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 mph.

The RX 450h+’s 35 miles of electric range is competitive with its rivals, and according to Lexus, it gets a combined rating of 83 mpg-equivalent. With a 6.6-kilowatt onboard charger, the brand also says that the SUV can be recharged in approximately 2.5 hours at 240 volts. For comparison, the 2023 BMW X5 xDrive45e has a 31-mile electric-only range and returns an EPA-estimated 50 mpg-e rating.

The RX 450h+ is notably equipped in the upscale Luxury trim, which adds features such as a head-up instrument display, navigation, leather seating surfaces, 14-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 21-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof and ambient cabin lighting.

Powertrain Specs

Once again, a total of six trims are available: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance.

The standard powertrain in the RX 350 consists of a 275-hp, turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Moving up to the RX 350 F Sport Handling adds standard AWD, racier exterior and interior styling details, and an adaptive suspension.

Next is the RX 350h, a hybrid model that combines a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a continuously variable automatic and AWD. Total output is 246 hp, and it returns an EPA-estimated 36 mpg combined.

As the former range-topping version of the RX, the RX 500h F Sport Performance features a 366-hp powertrain consisting of a 2.4-liter turbo-four, two electric motors, AWD and a six-speed automatic.

Pricing and Release Date

Lexus says the 2024 RX lineup will be available by the end of 2023, and AWD adds $1,600 to the RX 350. Full pricing is as follows:

  • RX 350: $49,950
  • RX 350h: $51,800
  • RX 500h: $63,800
  • RX 450h+: $70,080

Just picked up 2024 RX350 Premium+.

Just picked up 2024 RX350 Premium+. Overall a nice car. I’m not a big fan of the 4 cyl. Powertrain however. Rather noisy and fuel economy is about the same as the 6 cyl. In my old 2019 RX with premium fuel required. Not a great trade off. New technology is pretty good and touch screen is much. Etter than the old RX touch pad. I think this is a better value than BMW X5 or Genesis GV80 with much better resale value.

I’ve had my 2024 RX 350 Premium AWD 5-door SUV (4x4) for a month now, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. The sleek black finish and luxurious interior give it a premium feel that matches its smooth ride. The AWD handles all road conditions like a dream, and the cabin is quiet, comfortable, and spacious. Lexus has really nailed the balance between performance and luxury with this model. Every feature feels well thought out, making drives enjoyable and hassle-free. Highly recommend this SUV to anyone looking for comfort, style, and capability!
