Great starter SUV or Family hauler

Given the options on the market, in particular, the options from Japan and Korea, the Mazda CX-5 feels like a breath of fresh air in a race to conformity. Styling is uniquely Mazda, while interior space is more than adequate for trips to Ikea or the grocery store. The engine was peppy and never felt underpowered anywhere in the power band. Ergonomics were smartly placed and within hands reach. The only interior drawback were the seats. Fine for around town, but a bit stiff for a cross-country work. Highlights were bright, visible front and back were better than average for an SUV of its size. At six foot, I had adequate headroom, but again back to the seats, would have preferred just a bit broader shoulder support on the seats. Handling was exceptional but this wasn't surprising given that it's a Mazda. Braking was also above the bar when compared to most of its peers, save Honda's CR-V. Overall, I like it and will probably make the CX-5 my next vehicle.

Best car we've ever owned!

I did an online research & search on dealership website. & found this specific car. Went to text drive it, offered a great deal & we bought it on the spot! Advertising was accurate & trustful. This car meet all of our expectations plus some! Have owned it for 5 weeks & are still very happy with it and with the dealer, Kenny Ross. We will buy there again & this make & model again.

Great Car

Very comfortable ride. The AWD is great on snow covered roads. A small SUV that feels big inside. I've owned it 2 months now and am very happy with my purchase.

Almost great

I own this vehicle. I bought it when it initially came out. In fact I delayed buying a car so I could test drive it. I have the touring model AWD with Bose HD stereo and moon roof. First off, it is AWD but this is no 4x4. The ground clearance is low so the best it can do is mud and moderate snow. That being said, it does nicely in the snow. Second, this car is tuned for mileage, not speed or power. it is NOT fast. The engine in 2013 was only a 2.0 liter. Later models got a slightly more beefy 2.5 liter engine. In general, it is comfortable overall. I have over 100,000 miles on it and have had ALMOST ZERO problems with it. I've done regular maintenance only (oil, filters, tires, brakes....). The ONLY item I have replaced OTHER than regular maintenance is the brake rotors. They became warped and few places cut rotors nowadays. The car just does everything it should and I'd buy it again. There are a VERY few gripes..... 1. When I bought the car, you could not get in-dash navigation AND the Bose stereo. It was a marketing gimmick, because all the cabling is there AND (for a short time) Mazda offered an option to have it added to the car for about $800. I WOULD have paid the $800 up front when I bought the car but after having the use an aftermarket TomTom why pay $800 to get the same thing. 2. When using a USB stick, the radio takes minutes... like 3 - 4 to read the contents of the drive before you can pick music from it. 3. The cargo area light in the back is beyond puney. 4. Watch your tires. Small engines built for MPG are vulnerable to weight. I WAS averaging 32.4 MPG with my previous tires. I recently installed very highly rated continentals and my mileage has dropped to 28.8. Why? These tires are 28 lbs each. My previous tires were 25 lbs. Think tire weight doesn't matter??? It does on THIS car. Overall, I'd buy this car again. My kids are getting their licenses and they both want to drive MY car. Me too.

Very comfortable car to drive

This car was very spacious for me and my two kids. The color was great mileage was also. The price for the car was amazing. There were only a few small problems they were waiting on a part for the window and I couldn't wait that long. So I decided one another car.
