Terrific Road Car. Zoom Zoom is a real

My CX5 handles better than any car I tested. It's quiet, fun to drive, and is a really comfortable car for long drives. One immediately notices the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went i to the human engineering aspect of the design.

Great looking and great driving

This car must have been designed by someone that actually drives! The third window in the back makes it a breeze to see what's coming. The vents actually move and work instead of just looking like they do. The seats are comfortable on long rides. Great to drive.

Looks and feels more expensive than it is

This extremely well balanced car has few shortcomings. The driving experience is luxuriously smooth and quiet. My only complaint is the hard seat bottoms. I had to make a cushion to be comfortable. Horsepower is adequate, and if you drive conservatively, you will be rewarded with excellent fuel economy. I can get nearly 30mpg on suburban roads in light traffic. I like the feel of the electric power steering, but I wish the lane departure assist was more aggressive. The rear blind spot radar works very well. In a curious omission the backup camera has neither audible alarms or guidelines that move with the steering wheel. The adaptive cruise control is great, and will apply the brakes hard if necessary. I like Mazda's infotainment system and find it easy to use. I appreciate the standard HD radio traffic maps. The map, when available (that depends on local radio stations) shows the position of the car with suprising accuracy. Good enough to be an aid in navigating if you don't have a gps with you. There is attention to detail everywhere on this car. Mazda did many small things that some owners may not even notice. For example when you open the rear hatch, there are no exposed screws. This took a little extra effort on Mazda's part. The doors have as many as 3 layers of weatherstripping. That is unusual and illustrates the work put into making the car quiet. The front side windows consist of two layers of glass with sound deadening material in between. Rare on cars in this price range. This level of detail plus elegant, understated styling, makes you feel like you are driving a luxury car.

2017 Mazda CX-5 AWD Review

we test drove three (3) different models of the 2017 Mazda CX-5, an entry level, mid level and premium model, we ended up purchasing the Grand Touring with Premium package due to the additional safety and convenience features (love the heads up display). we were impressed on how much Mazda was able to address some of the noisiness issues that existing in the pre-2017 models. so far we are very satisfied with the vehicle.

Most thoughtfully designed vehicle CX-5

After prompting from my husband I finally bought a new car and settled on the fully loaded CX-5, with parchment leather interior; it's a beautiful and elegant looking car. I've come from an 03 t-bird and F150 as daily drivers. I would have rated it a 5 for comfort and performance because it truly is, however since it's not a luxury car, I kept it at a 4. I have now owned the car for about 6 weeks and 2400+ miles of driving, including 2 4+ hr road trips. It's a very comfortable, quiet, and thoughtfully designed car. The more I drove the car the more impressed I have been by it. You can feel the thoughtfulness of who created it. If you think, oh, its to bad it doesn't do this... it does. I was thinking there must be some way to enlarge the navigation screen so that I can see it easier for when the turns come up. It does it for you as you get closer to any road changes! Brilliant!! Everything is within easy reach, or an easy sightline for the driver. I completely love the center dial thing, I call it my mouse, so user friendly. I never even look at the dashboard anymore because all the information is projected onto the windshield. I never thought I'd love that feature so much. It holds everything I need to carry, and I carry some pretty random stuff at times!! Here's my only two bad things I can say about the car, it doesn't have a tail gate function that opens it with just your foot, and I understand that is something I can have added after market somewhere else, and I wish it had a slightly bigger gas tank just enough to show I've got a 400+ mile range. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted by the mileage I'm getting in the 24-30 range. You will not be disappointed by this car. Thank you Alex on Autos and Forrest's Auto Reviews for your wonderful YouTube videos about this vehicle.

Lux for Less

Lux feel of a Lexus, but with an affordable price tag. Unlike some competitors, I found that even at the cheapest end model, it still felt like an upgraded model. Ultimately I bought the GT with Premium add-on to get all the safety features and entertainment features in one. Mazda lives up to it's expectations that driving is fun - especially when driving in the sport mode. And admitting that I'm not always the best driver, I love all the safety features that alert me of blind spots, lane assist, etc. You can set the sensitivity and alert type on most of the safety features as well so you can decide how much help you need/want. In LOVE with my car!

All around incredible vehicle

I just purchased this car 2 days ago and so far I don't see the honeymoon phase ending anytime soon. I upgraded from a Mazda3 Hatchback to the CX-5 because I was looking for a little more room. The CX-5 got me a lot more room and all with the same quality and performance I would expect from a Mazda. This car is outstanding and, for me personally, I think they upgrades they made for the 2017 model have moved it above the competition in terms of interior and exterior styling and performance. The car is amazingly quiet and comfortable. I am looking forward to driving it for many years to come!

Terrific car I highly recommend you look at!

I did more research then ever before and this is exactly the car I wanted in the end. Great mpg - 26 mixed. Very stylish and fun to drive. Took it on a 3000 mi shakedown cruise to Florida and it was a joy. I?m over 6? tall so I would like the seats to be slightly wider and the steering to be more adjustable but all in all a truly amazing value! I?m talking only about the 2017 models which were refreshed from previous.

CX-5 Zoom Zoom

This is my 3rd Mazda. First, I owned a 2005 Mazda 6, then a 2011 Mazda CX-9 Touring, and now a 2017 CX-5 Touring. It was a hard break up with both my first two Mazda's as I loved them and they were great vehicles, but the 2017 CX-5 is quickly taking over my heart too. I thought I'd feel the drop in power going from a 6 cyl to a 4, but the the CX-5 is very zippy and I haven't even tested out the sport mode yet (purchased 3 weeks ago today). The gas mileage is great, love the moonroof, and the Bose sound system is a nice addition. I also thought I'd really feel the decrease in space, but my 6'2 boyfriend fits fine in the front seat. My only dislike is that on my model, the sand colored "leatherette" has a suede type insert in the middle of the bottom and backrest of the seats. I don't like any fabric due the ability to attract dirt. That said, I did get some black residue from setting a dirty pair of shoes on the back seat. It came right out using an Armor All wipe. I also have Auto-Butler so that may have prevented the stain from setting in.
