I purchased my 97 Millenia in 2000 when it came off lease. It had 20K miles at that point. Now has 121K and still running smooth, quiet, and strong. I have only had routine maintenance and part replacements. It handles very well and really softens the road bumps and cracks, too, which I like.

i have had my mazda millenia for a little over a year now, and i have replaced almost EVERYTHING that has to do with the enginre. The transmission is on it's last few miles and the air conditioning barely even blows cold after being fixed twice. harmonic balancer is not worth the price and the catalytic converters are a rediculous price for how much you could actually get the car for. I have never heard of a car that could cause such a frustration.

Fastest Car I've ever owned (160 MPH!!!)

I purchased my 97 Millenia back in 5/03 with 139 k (abt 86 k mi). The model I had was Millenia S with Miller Cycle Engine V6 2.3L and 210 HP. Even though the manufacturer rates the top speed at 230 km/h I was able to get 255 km/h (almost 160 MPH) The suspension was comfortably cushioned yet it was more than firm enough for even the most brutal cornering, the car took a lot of beating from me with ease. Handled extremely well in any situation (might have been in large part because of Dunlop SP Sport A2 215/55/R16 performance tires). Even the slightest pad on the accelerator pedal resulted in a responsive and fast pick up, the 4 speed automatic transmission adjusted well to aggressive driving as well as driving on the highway. The braking was responsive and firm (all 4 disc brakes, of course). Fuel consumption was really good considering the power that was available to you. I got from 7.6L/100 (31MPG) - cruising on the highway(summer) at 120-140km/h (75-85MPH) to 14.7L/100 (16MPG) all city (winter-with long starts). Usually I was averaging between 9 - 11L/100 (21-26 MPG) Not bad for 210 horses. It does have one downside though - it requires premium gasoline, which does drive up the running costs some. The exterior styling is distinctive and out-of-the-box. The front grille complements the elegant yet aggressive elements and details in the body. Interior is spacious in front and back and the sleeky 2 tone dashboard welcomes you wit warmth and luxury. There's a lot of storage on board, but only one cup holder awkwardly placed in the centre console, it seems like an afterthought. People with bigger feet will find the accelerator pedal too close to the brake pedal which might cause some discomfort. Millenia S comes with a lot of features, mine had: power windows, mirrors, door locks, power moon roof, tan leather, power driver's and passenger's seats(6 way), power tilt steering wheel (which tilts up when you take the key from the ignition), heated front seats, 8 speaker CD stereo system, dual automatic AC, ABS, Traction Control System, cruise control. It proved to be reasonably reliable, with no major defects. Millenia is a mix of power of BMW with the luxury of Lexus. If you're looking for power, performance, great handling while not giving up comfort this mid size luxury sedan is definitely for you.
