Believe the hype and buy one!
To be fair, this was my first car. I have only driven full size trucks. I owned the car for 6 months and absolutely loved every second of it. The car was super fun and the hype is real. The car made my commute fun and enjoyable. I put 10000 miles on it in 6 months. I will cover the bad only because there is 1000 things good to say about it. I disliked the road noise and ride. It was loud in the cabin with the top up. I drove it on a couple of trips and in the city I would always have the top down but on long highway trips the wind noise was pretty bad so I always did top up. The car bounced violently on bumps and the road noise was loud. Other than that it was decently comfortable. I got rid of the car because I felt like my payments were a bit much for it. $30000 is steep if you ask me and although I got it new I felt like other departments other than performance were lacking. It was fun But As far as daily living and refinement I felt it was not worth the price. Not lacking by any means and totally doable but for $500 monthly payment I felt I could do better. It was a great car and I highly recommend it if you can afford it. I autocrossed it six times and drag raced it a total of 1 mile. Motor trend got a 14.5 in the quarter. I only managed 14.9 but I am no drag racer and that's not what the car was meant for. Loads of fun through the hill country and autocross and I traded it in for a much cheaper miata that still isn't refined but much more value for money. 2001 miata with 80,000 miles for $4000. Vs 2016 with 3223 miles for $24000. The new one was better in every way but price.

Most fun car to drive I have ever had
Best handling , super slick shifting 6 speed, takes the curves like it is on a rail. good power. Great little car with easy to use manual soft top. It is the Club package, and the only way to go if you want a great handling, awesome looking car.

Made driving fun again
Remember that feeling of excitement and joy of driving when you were 16? Well it's back daily ever time I drive my MX5. Absolutely love it. If it could transform into a woman I would marry this sexy, exciting, fun loving red haired beauty.

Not a hairdresser's car
You know Mazda has made a car that outgrows its "hairdresser" image when men constantly stop to compliment your car. So it's not the most powerful car on the block, but it will out handle just about everything on the road. The engine revs freely and you can really use all its power in everyday traffic. The club edition is the only one to get in my opinion. The additional BBS wheels and brembo brakes really turn heads. The seats are comfortable and driving position is 90% perfect. Mazda needs to make a telescoping wheel. If you have long arms then your shoulders might start to hurt on long drives. I'm 6'1" and I think I'm right at the limit of who can fit in this car comfortably. For all the complaints about the infotainment, I find it intuitive and easy to use. The Bose stereo is great and road noise is better managed than it was in my S2000. The convertible top quality is great, too. The fit and finish is much more upscale than I would have expected. Gas mileage is phenomenal. I averaged about 36mpg on a recent 60 mile drive and average 30mpg with mixed driving. The powertrain should be reliable, too. My only gripe is that it is expensive for what is a tiny roadster. Yes, the quality is much better than a Mustang, BRZ, or other sports car, but it is also half as big.

Most fun you can have at $30,000
This is the most complete and fun sports car you can buy under $50,000. The ease of dropping the top can make any ordinary drive special.. combine that with handling that is impeccable on canyon/mountain roads and on the track, along with a reliable, efficient engine.. well it's just tough to beat, and impossible to beat at the price. And this is subjective, but I love the design of the exterior and the interior is very well thought out. Two things that are lacking, the engine sound and top-end power. Also, size might be an issue for some.

Expect it to be reliable, just got it
The car is great, just what I was looking for, a little difficult for my wife to get in and out but she will get use to it. Wish it had a back up camera but that is the only thing missing. Drives exactly like I expected and has sufficient Hp since I was not looking foe a muscle or pony car, just a great sports car.

It's a Blast
This is my third Miata. The first was a PRHT and was certainly quieter than the rag-top version. While the car has a small engine, because of the vehicle's weight you can make it scoot along quite admirably - especially with the stick. If you're going to buy one, get the stick. I had considered the new RF but the more I thought about it the more I thought I would rather have a completely open cockpit. If you're going to have a convertible, have a convertible. The car handles like a go cart. It stays glued to the road because of the low center of gravity. The steering is precise and small inputs will have you going exactly where you have pointed it so you need to pay attention behind the wheel. The car just brings a smile to your face. Put the top down and just go. I have cars that are faster but that's not the reason to get behind the wheel of a Miata. The open air is relaxing and makes you feel like a kid.
