The Mercedes I hate that I love...
I can't wrap my brain around how many positive C300 reviews are on this website. I have had numerous, and I mean NUMEROUS visits to the dealer after purchasing my exceptionally mint condition, clean car-fax, certified pre-owned Lunar Blue Metallic Luxury package C300 almost two years ago. I purchased this specific vehicle BECAUSE it was the cleanest certified C300 I could find, I treat my cars well and intended to find one well maintained. I had my eye on this car for a while because of it's gorgeous looks and world class interior (Especially with luxury stitching!), plus it was a Mercedes-Benz, the best or nothing, right? I honestly would have been better with nothing... or at least a bus pass maybe! This car has left me stranded on the way to client appointments, which is not a fantastic impression working in Real Estate... I have been into MB for at least 10 MAJOR mechanical services over the course of the past 19k miles (now at 38k), everything from both oxygen sensors, to an entire piston rebuild at 25k miles (5k job-out of warranty!!!), to coolant pump failing mid-drive, then a coolant line bursting days later, followed by transmission slamming, then several different updates being performed. I've also had a bunch of ridiculous minor repairs like 2 or 3 door handle lights, interior NAV screen creaking, three of four doors creak, metal trim around the console split and cut my finger, etc. Although I love love love the interior and exterior styling (and the 14 speaker buremester audio!!)....this car has been a nightmare and I am unfortunately going to have to trade it in shortly before my warranty expires. Because of this unforeseen trade-in being necessary, in addition to the filthy car fax from all the warranty work completed, this car is leaving me with a profound cost-to-own... I anticipated having this car several years like my last, extremely disappointing with MB and will not be purchasing vehicles from them in the future. I'm thinking about picking up a stunning Lincoln....if I can even afford to after this financial mess.. Oh, and in addition to working in Real Estate and finishing up my degree, I have picked up additional part time work to reduce the impact of this unexpected sale/financial loss.

Best vehicle I have ever owned
I've driven multiple luxury cars including Acura, Infinity, Lexus, and BMW (I'll NEVER buy another BMW again- all kinds of mechanical trouble with both of them!), and this Mercedes-Benz is the smoothest, most reliable, BEST driving vehicle I've ever driven. And the turbo engine, VROOM- it SCREAMS!!! I've had to watch my speed or put on the cruise control, because it rides so smoothly, one doesn't realize how fast they are going. The blind spot and vehicle ahead of you is too close warning systems are appreciated. The Burmeister surround sound stereo ROCKS! Navigation is appreciated when going somewhere that we're not familiar. Luxury at it's finest.

Love it...except for center console controls.
The car is extremely comfortable and has been reliable. However, I dislike the center console controls. They’re unnecessarily complicated and I’m waiting for Mercedes to replace these ridiculous controls before purchasing another car. Paint on roof bubbled and peeled, but dealer repaired at no cost.

Too “German” for most American buyers
The C300 is a great overall package. The C-Class is definitely made for a specific type of buyer. If you can live with true pros and cons of a vehicle you won’t be unhappy. The C-Class provides great driving dynamics as it’s light and quick on its feet, feeling very athletic. It also provides great quality materials on the inside where they matter. Like real aluminum trim and metal door handles and window keys, padded surfaces everywhere you wouldn’t think of and swaths of accents throughout the cabin. But the C-Class is a true German product in every way possible, good and bad. Interior plastics are cheap and start creaking and rattling very early on. Irritatingly, so. The ride is compliant on the highway and very smooth overall but the suspension is not dialed to give you the best of both worlds. Potholes and undulations in the road are translated jarringly to the cabin, shaking the dash and shocking passengers with loud, crashy sounds especially over rough road patches. This is where the C-Class begins to feel, cheap. It tries to reward you with creature-comforts like, a step-in adjusting steering wheel, auto-dimming and folding side mirrors, power thigh adjusting seat, a brake-hold feature for stop lights and the list goes on. Unfortunately, these highly sought after and very welcomed features aren’t enough to redeem the C-Class, for its nasty suspension behaviors and El Cheapo sounding squeaks and rattles. If you can live with those idiosyncrasies, in return for, a class-above type creature-comforts, the C-Class will make you happy. If you’re the typical American Luxury buyer, who wants everything to feel, look, sound and hold-up with quality, all while providing a supple yet still sporty ride, then there are much better options out there for, you.

Not impressed
I had my 2015 C300 for about 2 years and had every option possible. For the price this car is not worth the money, bad rattling inside cabin, horrible ride quality, wheels will bend if you hit pot holes, transmission sensor replaced twice, very expensive to maintain, noisy at high speeds, etc. I now own a Jeep Grand Cherokee and for a non “luxury” car it is way smoother, quieter, more reliable, and has way better quality and features for around the same price. Very disappointed in the C-Class. Would not recommend buying even if it is a “Mercedes.”
