AAA+++ spoilt by MBRACE down to A-

by sedanfan from Reston, Virginia on Fri Aug 19 2016

The car is excellent in all respects and is a pleasure to drive. There are few things to criticize and many to praise. In particular the 360 degree camera is amazing. It gives a view of the car and its surroundings from above when reversing or maneuvering. That makes it easy to see obstacles anywhere around the car. The comfort box in the trunk beautifully solves the age old problem of groceries rolling around all over the place. Passengers are usually very happy to find themselves gently hugged by the sides of their backrest as the car takes corners. On the whole this is close to the ideal car. Sadly, the whole thing is let down by MBRACE. The admin is hopeless and their web site is so convoluted it's very hard to straighten things out when there is a problem. On top of that, the so called Internet connection and Wi-Fi hot spot just doesn't work. When it is available it has such low bandwidth that it's hard even to get to Google and radio stations will only play with 30 seconds of buffering every two minutes. They'd be better off dropping the service until it does work.

S63 Rocks

by Dennis L from Las Vegas, NV on Fri Apr 06 2018

Love the S63 Coupe - one of the best designs inside and out I’ve ever owned. Takes some getting used to with all the electronics but overall happy.

even better than the previous model

by hapasc from bayville new jersey on Thu Nov 30 2017

the W222 S550 is even better than the earlier series w221. an improved dash layout and interior design for one. the exterior design is growing on me more and more as have had it for one year now. having a 2012 s350 also, the s550 is a very spirited driving machine compared to the s350 bluetec version, imo, save your money on the s63 or s65 versions, the s550 is powerful enough for spirited driving and costs much less. my favorite options in my 2016 s550 , the Burmester 3d stereo system & the magic body control option. two options found standard in the s600 or s65 without the staggering price tag. the magic body control uses hydraulic system vs airmatic producing a cloud like ride. the Burmester 3d radio boosts 1600 watts of the best stereo i have ever heard. the only thing i really car for about the car, or should say tires supplied, is the standard equipped runflat series tires. they are generate more noise, and a different ride, and no spare tire in the car. if you ruin a runflat tire and the local tire shops are closed, you are likely to become stranded. If i keep the car past 3 years, i will replace the tire s with standard tires, and get a spare too.

Most comfortable car ever!!!

by Danny614 on Tue Mar 06 2018

This vechile is engineered to perfection, from the the smooth air ride to the the double paned acoustic glass windows that make the car whisper quiet at highway speeds. Massage is great and adaptive cruise with steer assist basically drives the car for you. I would definitely recommend this car because they drop in price every year and for the price their is nothing better.

An even better S class

by Hilss350 from Bayville NJ on Sun Nov 19 2017

This s550 is going to be hard to give up when the lease ends. Equipped with extras like the burmester 3d stereo system, exclusive napa leather interior, and magic body control pretty much a s600 but with v8. Having magic body contol option does not allow 4matic thou..I like the MBC better than airmatic

Very disappointing

by Philosoph from Riverside, California on Wed Apr 04 2018

If you are looking for smooth and quiet, this is not your car. It is fast and handles well and is incredibly posh inside, but the engine, transmission, and road noise are quite obtrusive, and the ride can be quite jarring in certain common circumstances. My previous BMW 760, while not ghostly silent had a much quieter cabin: far less road noise and somewhat less engine noise and vibration. And unless the light is just right for the camera, the magic body control is completely blind to speed bumps. Not only was my BMW less troubled by them, so is my forty eight year old Ford station wagon. This has been a very expensive disappointment.

Our Take on the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Editor's note: This review was written in July 2015 about the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550. Little of substance has changed with this year's model. To see what's new for 2016, click here, or check out a side-by-side comparison of the two model years.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 coupe is an opulent car that backs up its six-figure price with its blend of performance, comfort and stunning looks.

Just paying a lot for something doesn't necessarily mean your money will be well-spent. Other times, though, spending a lot of money can get you a markedly better experience than you would otherwise get.

So it is with Mercedes' newest luxury coupe.

We tested a 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic coupe that, with options... Read More
