Best car ever!!!

I've owned my mountaineer since 2013 and I never had any problems with my car and I would definitely recommend this vehicle to other people who is looking for a good reliable used car. The mountaineer drives well in the snow and it never skidded in the bad weather, I have the 4.0 V6 engine and it has great gas mileage and I would never get rid of it.

Great Vehicle

Bought it new in ‘04. Changed oil and serviced IAW manual since I bought it and kept it garaged. I’m 83 now and still use it as my primary vehicle. It has 185,000 miles on it. It’s a 4.0 V6.

Worst vehicle transmission has been replaced twice

Transmission went out after 95k miles after being repaired went out again. The motor was replaced after 50k.overall bad experience would not recommend buying this vehicle. It did drive good at first but after miles started getting up too many problems.

Transmission is out @ 95k miles

I bought this car to get around town in about 18 months ago. I Knew it rode rough but the transmission shouldn't have gone out @ 95k. I gave us no indication it was having issues it just died. This is the top of the line MOUNTAINEER Which should have gone @ least 200k before any of this started happening. I think Ford needs to warranty this vehicle.

I enjoy the overall comfort and reliability that this vehicle has to offer. It is a great vehicle and very sturdy. I would never be nervous behind the wheel of this vehicle in the event of an accident. Overall A+++

A solid, good looking SUV

Had this vehicle for many years and it has been a very good SUV and awesome in the Michigan winters. Very smooth driving vehicle. The only things it has needed were typical wear and tear maintenance things. It drove good and is easily one of the best, if not the best looking SUVs of its era and class. Despite similarities, we preferred it over the Ford Explorer. Will miss Mercury as we felt the same way about the Grand Marquis vs Crown Vic.
