2005 MINI Cooper S consumer reviews

Like other reviewers say, this car HUGS the road. I feel safest in my mini. In sticky situations on our crowded NJ highways, I can floor it and get away quickly. I can slam on the brakes/swerve and not worry about losing control. Avg mpg has been 30 on long-distance highway trips, 23 day-today in town. Owning this care has made driving in other people's vehicles and rentals nerve-racking! I also like the ability to raise the seats up/down (I set it all the way up and my husbands sets it all the way down)--I feel like I'm sitting upright like in an SUV, and I never get low back pain from driving long distances. Perfect size for my height 5'2". Shopping takes some planning, but we did get unassembled IKEA furniture into the car with the back seats down. Love the heated seats and panoramic sunroof (with everything open, it's practically like being in a convertible). Not looking forward to giving it up for a "family" car!

The mini cooper s is easy to drive holds the road like glue and provided you do not floor it all the time is reasonably economical. Found no faults and has been totally reliable. The car can hold four adults with excellent headroom and foot space. The finish of the interior and exterior is excellent, and when you close the doors there is a solid sound, true quality of engneering.

I love it. It's fun to drive anywhere. It's especially fun driving around a corner...it hugs the road! (The cup holder can get in the way of the stereo controls sometimes and is a little awkward...but that is such a minor detail.) It's quiet, safe, fun...and fast!

The mini is small and somewhat uncomfortable for a large person. Tall folks should be fine because there's lots of legroom when the seats are moved back. People will buy the Mini for its unique appearance inside and our but what they will love is the great handling. The car hardly leans at all in a corner. The steering feels tight and precise. It can be driven much faster than is sensible (or legal). The acceleration of the supercharged Cooper S is better than that of most V6 powered sporty cars. The brakes are excellent.
