Zippy car fun to drive
Bought in January. Down sized from a wagon to the mini. Found that there is a ton of room in this thing. I am 5'10 and still have lots of head and leg room in this car. Very fun to drive great gas mileage though you have to be using primo gas. This is a Turbo S. The only draw back I have is it's not as quiet as my last car. But the Stereo makes up for it. Takes a bit longer to warm up the interior as well. Unless you have heated seats. Which I don't. Drives great in the snow. I was surprised! Easy to keep clean. Both interior and exterior.

great things come in yada yada yada
you either like it or you dont. this is a drivers car... if you arent a "spirited" driver, than you are probably getting the car for its MPG rating. and then its just simple.. if its in your budget, it will save you gas... of course you have to put premium gas in it... i am 6 4. i fit in this car like a glove. it is very comfortable. visibility is excellent, nice glass all around. handling is excellent, clutch is smooth and responsive... the only real downside is if you need to purchase the car from a dealer new. they are not nice, they dont care to haggle because the inventory for this car is not large, anywhere, and it is in demand. their lots are full of cars with a ton of options, and way over invoice... and there is no haggling. i purchased an 09 Lexus ES 350 with chrome wheels navigation at 150 below invoice... why? volume sales... i purchased my mini used and got a great deal on it. thank you come again...

Completely Unreliable, Expensive Repairs
2007 Mini Cooper S, loaded: Fun to drive (when it works) and good gas mileage (~33mpg) even though it does take premium gas... I have nothing else positive to say about the car. Lousy warranty should be a tip-off: BMW/MINI does not stand behind this product. There are a number of known issues (check some forums, do a quick Google search) which BMW/MINI refueses to address. By 50,000 miles, I was frustrated and ready to sell this car. Foolishly, I kept it, and now, at about 75,000 miles, I've dumped about $10,000 in repairs into it (all in about the last 18 months) and I'm now faced with $1,600 to replace a vacuum pump, JUST TO GET IT RUNNING, and determine the extent of potentially catastrophic engine damage. The engine may need to be replaced for another $8,000.00. On a car I've owned for three and a half years. It's always in the shop, always expensive to fix, and completely unreliable. When the vacuum pump blew, we were fortunately going only about 10mph in stop and go traffic. The car failed completely, leaving us stalled out in the road. A good samaritan helped push us to the side of the road to await a tow truck. Had this happened at highway speeds, I imagine a serious accident would have occurred. BMW/MINI seems to consider these failures acceptable, becuase neither my local dealer nor MINI USA have been willing to address these serious product problems despite numerous phone calls. Stay away from Mini! If you must have one (I iknow the feeling) then buy the extended warranty and make sure it covers EVERYTHING. Also be prepared to be without the vehicle frequently. I remain completely disappointed in the product and the company, and cannot in good conscience recommend this vehicle. Good luck.

mimini
I found this car 2 weeks ago and it is soooo much fun. I had been trying to figure a way to buy a new Mini but logistics made it difficult. This one was used with 26,000 miles, but it looked good and appears to be in great mechanical shape. It came loaded with the full sports package, cold weather package, and convenience package. It has 150 mile run flat tires. The only single thing it didn't come with is a navigation system which I didn't care about any way. This is the most fun I've ever had driving a vehicle and I've been driving for over 45 years. If you can afford one ,I highly recommend The MINI COOPER S.

phenominal pocket rocket
I had read about and looked at the car the last few years, but thought the car was a little too cute for serious driving. I finally joined the crowd and I am very pleased. I am 6'3", and have plenty of room. I consider the car a two-seater except in cases of absolute necessity. The handling is exceptional; you can clip apexes at will, or intentionally take a wrong line and then correct with a combination of steering input, and throttle; my car has the limited-slip diff. The tiny turbo-engine is a dream, TORQUE and gas mileage. At cruise the gearing makes for relaxed motoring without too much noise, and as I mentioned earlier mileage is great 35+. The ride can be a little choppy, but the car does have a short wheelbase. I think the interior is a little gimicky with the overly large speedo and switchology, but when you're blasting around on and off ramps at 70-75 you don't really notice. I have an 06' Z-51 Corvette, and this Cooper S is almost more fun to drive, I should have done this sooner.

ABSOLUTE BLAST TO DRIVE! I OWN THE "S" AND LOVE IT
this vehicle handles like its on rails! the shifter is a nice short throw (04model). the supercharger has a great powerful whine that reminds one of the sound of a formula 1 race car. Interior is laid out with great race car style. all knobs are easily accessible. the borla exhaust has a nice throaty sound too.

AWESOME!!!
The easiest part is falling in love with this car. Good job to Mini on a new platform success. The new prince engine is very peppy and economical at the same time. In addition the Twin-Scroll Turbo has much less lag than expected. Missing however is the much loved "Exhaust Burble". As for the suspension; much tighter than previous variants and once again has a Sports Option available which I opted for. This features tighter springs and a heavy duty anti-roll bar. Since the car is a re-design of course not much stayed the same. This includes the exterior which now features a better looking grill and detached headlights but on the downside has a non-functional hood scoop due to relocation of the intercooler. And probably my least favorite thing about this car a new chrome chip on the fender which is where the side marker housing used to be. On the inside the Leatherette is a must, comfortable for long trips but I must warn they get very warm quick. I do feel bad if you intend on carrying passengers, as sitting in the back is complete torture. Leg room is almost nonexistent which is why my back seat is off limits. Also the rear pillar is a bit bigger than it looks and obstructs rear vision a little. The sport button is one of the coolest features of the car. Once depressed it adjust accelerator response to momentarily raise torque and tightens the steering. Another cool feature is the convenience package which has a keyless design. As long as the key is somewhere within the car it will start without it actually being in the ignition which is now a "engine Start" button. Now the hardest part will be picking out all of the options you want.

LOVE IT
I was deciding between this or an STI, but when I thought about it. Take away the HP and looks of an STI and you've got a regular car. The cooper s is SO much more than just a whole lot of fun to drive, it's the perfect median between performance and luxury.

Subtle yet Impressive Improvements
Over the past weekend I was able to test drive both a 2005 Cooper S and a new 2007 Cooper S. There are definite improvements, noticable from the word "go". The power band is surprisingly improved, from start to stop the torque is VERY noticable. Engine noise is pleasant but not overwhelming, and the interior changes provided that, "finally, this button is where it should have been on the old one" feeling. With the great resale value of the MINI brand I was able to get a brand new 2007 for only a little more than a low-mileage 2005.
