First new car

The car is great for commuting. The only negatives I have to to report are with the suspension. I drive in town, no rough driving or offroading and it's already had two broken dust boots and o rings on the front end. The interior is beautiful. The trunk space is awesome. The back seat has plenty of leg room. Overall a solid choice for a fuel efficient car.

Economical Car, Drives smoothly

Nissan Sentras are great. They're reliable, smooth but not fast cars. I love that it is so spacious and economical. Maybe the interior design can be thought a little better or upgrade some features on it.

Transmission Already Went

Got a 2014 Nissan Sentra on September 12, 2015 as a former rental car that was on the road for less than a year. The car had 25K miles on it upon purchase. This past week on Friday, July 6, 2018, I almost didn't make it home from work when the RPMs started going insane while driving it. The vehicle would not respond to my attempts to accelerate, and at one point, the car went from cruising at 65 mph to plummeting down to 30 mph WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. I was terrified that I was going to end up in a major accident and was fearful that I would not make it back home. I managed to get the car into town, only for it to stop functioning completely after stopping at a stop sign six blocks from my current residence. In the nearly three years of owning this, I have put a mere 20K additional miles on the thing. It is hardly a high mileage vehicle, as it is now just shy of 46K. I maintained the vehicle with regular services/oil changes and there has been absolutely no warning signs or slow decline of anything in this car. The CVT transmission appears to be a very defunct technology that is NOT being recalled by Nissan, even though this appears to be a very common and dangerous issue with numerous models manufactured by Nissan between the years 2013-2017. There is an active class action lawsuit against Nissan at the moment, which includes the 2014 Nissan Sentra. I live approximately 60 miles from the dealership I got this car from, and do not feel safe to drive this thing even five miles. My dealership told me to contact Nissan directly, who has not really bothered tending to this issue. In fact, a representative gave me absolutely no answers and asked me: "What do you expect us or want us to do for you." Well, I still owe three years worth of payments on this thing, I cannot get it towed down to the dealership without getting gutted financially. (Insurance will obviously not cover issues that are considered mechanical.....so no coverage for tow or a rental car with this issue....fun!) It appears that, when they do replace the faulty transmission.....they will be replacing it with the exact same faulty CVT technology....thus indicating that this thing will absolutely break down again. I cannot afford to get slammed with a $3900 problem on a car that I still owe $7000 on. I am now in a rock and hard place in dire need of this car to get to work....I cannot get it into a shop locally, as no one in Lake County, California works on CVT transmissions. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR RISK YOUR LIFE WITH THIS VEHICLE.

Beautiful

First of all, this Sentra SR is beautiful! This car is reliable and satisfied my need. I always be a fan of Sentra SR because of its look. It's a combination of luxury and spotty looking. I love it!

Reliable

A good car. Good leg room. I ve owned it 4 years. To my disappointment recently while driving the car , it sounded like a humming truck sound . I was told the wheel bearings have to be replaced after 4 years. I wonder if there was s recall.

I love my Nissan Sentra

The eco option has been a great way to save on gas during my commute, and has cut my gas cost is half! Also, having the sport option available at the push of a button has been a great addition when more performance is needed. I will buy a Nissan again

WONDERFUL CAR

This is my second Nissan and both vehicles have been extremely dependable especially on long trips. Would continue to buy Nissans in the future. Excellent service from their service department.
