Best Sedan I Have Ever Owned

I purchased my G8 GT almost three years ago now with 89k on the odometer. Without a doubt, the absolute best sedan I have ever owned. When/If this one dies I will buy another. I drive it 1100mi a week for work and it has never skipped a beat. Now sitting at 145k with only basic maintenance. Style, Performance, Spacious and Reliable.

Just purchased

Bought this 2009 vehicle used this year (2017) with less then 60k, so it was very well kept. Car drives smooth as a Cadillac and accelerates like a Vette. The interior is plain and boring like most GM cars. It has a large screen with no touch screen, NAV., or back up camera, not that I mind but why even have a screen. Cabin is spacious and feels like a car that would cost much more. The 6.0L V8 makes the heavy (3900lb) car feel light and moves it along effortlessly. The exterior is very European, taking styling cues from its AU brothers but has some more dramatic body lines, from the front fender flares to the rear diffuser and euro-tail lights. The front end has the iconic Pontiac look with large grill nostrils and the addition of foe hood scoops. All in all a fantastic car that is tame and refined but has raw power with a snap of the throttle.

Love it!

Absolutely love it, but I will say the leather seats can be a little uncomfortable on longer trips. Overall, it has been extremely reliable and well-made. It's becoming a little dated, and there are a few disappointments like the lack of an auto-dimming rear view mirror, or the ability to stream music via BT to the radio, but it's overall a very solid car.

Powerful and Reliable

I have owned my G8 GT since 2009. Bought it new with 50 km on it. One year later I installed a Magnuson Supercharger, Kooks headers and Corsa exhaust. It is dyno tuned with 440 HP to the wheels. I also like the BMW look at a better price. I really like the exterior and interior styling. High quality leather every where that looks like football leather and a high class mesh cloth on the dash. Tons of room inside seating and a cavernous trunk. I even like the wheels. In time I would like a Cadillac CTS-V but that only gives me a better stereo, upgraded interior and a bit more power. Plus, this G8 GT is good for another decade or more. I love my G8 GT. "You Got It, Pontiac!"

Awesome car

If you are looking for a family car but yet aren't quite ready to have a car like your grandma's Buick this is the car for you. I'm 6"1 300 pounds and I'm comfortable in the front or the back of this car plenty of room and as a bonus the kids love it. Moves like a sports car feels like a family car..

Awsome G8 GT!

Love this car! I Seriously fast and fun! The stock exhaust is extremely quite, you would not be able to tell there is a V8 under the hood by the way it sounds. Once you step on the gas, you know it's there. Not only does it look sharp, its fun to drive. I would recommend to anyone looking for a performance sedan.

Great Sound

As with most American cars, the reliability is pretty much a hit or miss. A far as this model goes, has decent reliability and the interior could've been designed better. The BEST part is when you put you foot down after turning that corner and you hear that great American exhaust roaring in the distance.

the best of 40 new cars owned

all cars are a compromise out of necessity.Purchased new 9/08 at age 66( kind of the last fun car for us) and could not be more pleased with the choice. The gt has been fun, practical,& very reliable. We almost let motor trend convince me not to purchase it.(09 car of the year comparison)questioning the cars reliability.Loved my 70 boss 302, but no a/c or power steering, driving a competition clutch in los angeles stop & go every few feet became intolerable.Cadillac's acura legends Nissan turbo z & the list goes on. none did every thing as well as the 09 gt.judging comparable gt's it is still valued at what it was purchased new for.Just a good comfortable car that is fun & reasonably economical to drive.I do fear driving it any place it could be door dinged or scratched. 25 k & still on the original 19" tires with about 50% tread left.No regrets woulddo it all over again.
