One of 2 cars that have made me very happy to own
16 year old car; I didn't put a ton of miles on it, had the remote start. I live this car and still drive it. I'm tall and needed to be able to sit comfortably and upright (have spinal stenosis). Loved the remote start so much. It's my zip zip around car. Longer wheelbase made it a little harder to park in those tiny parking spaces at strip malls. Enjoyed immensely taking this car in day trips and weekend get aways. Fam still borrow it for trips. So much room for the passengers, never complaints from passengers. Lots of room to pack what you need. I've had to replace a wheel bearing. The paint is chopping off now {it sits outside in all weather}. The chrome plated wheels started peeling fairly early on but didn't bother me much. They do now have to be sanded when getting new tires to ensure proper seal (they do that at the tire installation shop) otherwise you have a slow leak. I now have to manually turn off the blinkers, but cld pay to have that fixed, just haven't. Speakers still make me happy. I can plug in a phone and listen to my music, but of course too old for a screen or other conveniences. I love my torrent will be sad when it it done and gone.

Don't waste your hard earned money !!
I have owned this car for almost 3 years. Within this time, I have had the timing chain, fuel pump replaced twice and replaced the shocks and struts, battery and transmission rebuilt. Still it makes a lot of road noise when driving. My husband changed the oil and was almost shocked by open wires that the mechanic had told us Pontiac had made a short cut on when manufacturing it. The engine light will not go off and has been on for 6 months. When the heat is turned on, the air conditioner comes on instead. On it way back to the mechanic as I write this review. Don't buy this suv. Not a reliable vehicle and with high maintenance, not worth buying.

Pontiac Torrent/Aztek automobiles
Recently purchased a Pontiac Torrent 2008. The purchase price was $2900 and was worth every penny. It is an AWD as well. There are some minor issues that need attention at some point. It runs fantastic. Plenty of power and very comfortable. I am an Aztek fan as well. I own a 2005 and have had the same experience with this car. Would definitively recommend either of these cars. Pontiac made superior automobiles, in my humble opinion.

I love my car!
My 2008 Pontiac Torrent GXP has been a wonderful car. Very reliable gets me where I need to go has never left me stranded I've owned it for about a year now and the only issue I've had is the A solenoid keeps getting stuck making it to where it won't go to second gear so I have to turn the vehicle off wait about 5 seconds turn it back on again and we're good to go. I took it to a transmission mechanic and instead of just fixing the a solenoid valve that keeps getting stuck on he wanted to rebuild the whole transmission so for me that's just not worth my time. For now I will just continue to turn it off and back on again 🤷♀️

WAIT 4 IT!!!!!
I HAVE OWNED MY 2008 TORRENT FOR 5YEARS NOW. AT FIRST, I HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL IT GOT CLOSE TO 100,000 MILES. CHAOS CONSISTENTLY, AND SOME IF THE ISSUES REPEAT AND I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REPLACE THE PART AGAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS. I HAVE HAD MY ENTIRE COOLANT SYSYEM REPLACED AND IT STILL OVERHEATS AND IM STUCK IN SUMMER VEGAS HEAT! IT IS GOIBG THROUGH NEW BATTERIES EVERY 6 MONTHS. IT LOCKS ME OUT WITH THE KEYS NOT IN THE IGNITION AND THEN GOES INTO SECURITY MODE AND MY KEY REMOTE WONT WORK. THE DOOR LOCKS NEVER WORK AS THEY SHOULD. IVE LIVED IN VEGAS 3 YEARS AND NOW THE PAINT IS CRACKING AND THE LEATHER INTERIOR IS TOO EVEN THOUGH I USE SUN SHIELDS EVERY DAY! NOW I HAVE A MASSIVE FUEL LEAK. I MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE STARTER AGAIN TOO! IF ASKED AT 97,000 miles ABOUT THE SUV, I WOULD'VE GIVEN IT A 5*, NOW I GIVE IT A 3-, ONLY BECAUSE I CAN DRIVE IT FOR 7 MINUTES IN WINTER WEATHER BEFORE OVER HEATING!

Worst vehicle I have ever owned.
Please, beware of this vehicle. I am one of the countless individuals who have spent thousands of $$ in maintenance to only be left in the middle of an intersection with every single code flashing at me and no power whatsoever. Currently without a vehicle because my Torrent will not drive unless the codes (which have all been addressed COUNTLESS TIMES) are erased - and even then, that only buys me half an hour of driving time before I'm left stranded again. It's been a nightmare and it is not a problem that any mechanic can fix. GM needs to put a recall on this heap of trash.

Unreliable
Owned my Torrent GXP for a year now. Bought it with 82,000 miles on it. At about 89,000 miles roughly 5 months after I bought it the transmission went out in it. $3,000 later its back on the road (thats with me putting it in). Now I'm having issues and have no idea what it is. Crank sensor went out on it so I took it to the dealership to get it changed. 4 weeks later they called and said come get it. They put a new sensor in it and now it is hard to say when it will start. Starts on rare occasions. It has 96,000 miles on it since the electrical issues.

This vehicle is a perfect starter car for my first winter driving. It’s reliable to get me through town and get me to college, appointments, etc.
