The car I always wanted, and it doesn't disappoint
This is one kick xxx car. Great Porsche styling, power, and performance. Definitely worth every penny. Not to mention the fact that it turns a lot of heads.

Feels like you in an expensive go-kart, there is nothing like taking turns on the back roads or opening it up on the freeway. You will love it.

Exilerating, Reliable, Gorgeous
My 2008 Porsche Cayman is hands down the best handling car I?ve ever driven. I usually beat challengers off the line, but I know this car is not the fastest off the line. I?ve hit 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds and run all out on the straight aways at 162 mph (top speed is reported at 171, but I?ve not achieved that my one time on the short track). The joy of this car is in the handling! Nothing comes close. Any muscle or exotic out there who relies on brute strength off the line is immediately put to shame in the first turn. On country backroads, this Cayman is King. And, true to Porsche?s reputation, this car is built for the driver. It?s simple interior is refined and sporty at the same time and it?s overall reliability is second to none.

Beautiful and Reliable
The Cayman was an extension of Porsche's successful (and still being built) Boxster series, but, in my opinion, much more beautiful. Here in 110-degree Austin temperatures, convertibles have no value, except to allow additional heat, sound, and rainwater intrusion, so the Cayman ticks all those boxes in a positive way. It requires a bit of effort to "saddle up", but once inside, both driver and passenger are treated to wonderfully ergonomic leather seating. I've owned almost 100 cars in my lifetime, ranging from multiple Porsches, Mercedes, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, Lotus.. you name it. Hands down, this is unquestionably the best car I've owned to date, including past ownership of a 911. Handling is flawless.. smooth-as-silk clutch takeup and tight manual shifter action, perfect, slop-free steering with just the right amount of power assist and road feedback. And these 987 engines have a long history of bulletproof reliability. A big plus when considering the daunting Porsche service and parts costs. Also, in spite of the apparent confined access to the mid-engine compartment, most all standard service items.. belt replacement, oil and filter changes, etc. appear to be simple, DIY tasks for the average home shade tree mechanic. All in all, in my opinion, one of the best cars on the road today, and the earlier years represent incredible bargains against their new-model brethrens's prices.

Great little car!
The Cayman S is a tight little platform with a torquey motor. It has more than enough torque down low that I find myself trying to shift into a 7th gear. At the same time, it's also an eager revver up on top. For street driving, just get in and go. If you intend to take it to the track, do your research on the 987.1 versions. At a minimum, a deep sump is suggested and an underdrive pulley will save the power steering pump and A/C compressor without sacrificing engine cooling performance. Also ask for the DME report which shows how many overrevs the engine has sustained over it's life. Anything in ranges 4, 5 and 6 is a huge red flag.

Speed, Build Quality, Reliability for a bargain
The cayman is amongst the best drivers cars in existence - it's a thrilling driving experience that can challenge cars 2-3 times more expensive. The build quality and reliability are very high, and it benefits from sharing a lot of parts with it's more expensive big brother the 911. I would recommend the sports-chrono package, as it gives it a more sporty throttle when you want to have some fun.

2008 Cayman S
I purchased this 2008 Porsche Cayman S with 49k miles. It still feels like it is a new car. It has plenty of power, but is not super car fast. It is by far the best handling car I have ever driven. It handles much better than a 911. I love this car.
