some drawbacks

A little underpowered. The redline is about $5000 more and I don't know what the mileage rating is in comparison. My short wife can't see over the steering wheel. I am told the new model has a power seat to raise it several inches. I would like the dash guages to be lit all the time and not just with the lights on. The window controls are poorly positioned for taller drivers as one has to reach back to access them. No door lock switch on the door, only on the key remote. No trunk space, but that is not unexpected in a hard top convertible of this size.

SO MANY PPL STARE AT YOU WITH THIS CAR

I bought a Saturn Sky Redline in Sunburst Yellow/Black leather on November 30th, 2006. Since then, It has been the most exhilarating driving of my life. The car is incredibly responsive. Handles like a ferrari, sounds like a porsche and gets the looks from the people like a Viper or a McLaren. I cannot park the car at the mall without answering at least 2 questions from people who cannot believe that this car is a Saturn! The looks are stunning. From the outside, its beautiful lines and protruding bat-bumps give it the most unique styling I have ever seen on a car under $60,000. From the inside, the bucket seats hug you snugly, and the view over the hood is amazing. This car is like a mini-vette, with under half the sticker price. Don't bother getting a standard edition as the redline is only a few thousand more, but jumps the HP from 177 to almost 260! The response times of the turbo have been specially tuned to jump in around 2000 RPM, leaving NO turbo lag. You stomp it...It'll gallup away. Overall, the quality and stability of the ride is impressive. It doesn't jar you around the cabin like a miata or an s2000. The ride is stable and solid, like you would expect from an american car. The engine sounds great, leaving enough "throaty" sounds from the exhaust to make it growl. You can also replace the exhaust on this car to give you over 31 more horsepower to the real wheels. In conclusion, this car is quite an amazing drive. It will smoke most import cars both off the line and in the long haul. However, the amount of attention you will receive by driving this car is quite amazing. I give this little roadster a perfect 10, especially for a car that costs around 31,000.00 COMPLETELY CONFIGURED! If anyone would like to see some of these saturn's in action, or to see it's sister car the pontiac solstice, I would recommend finding a local Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice car club. They are popping up everywhere! Go to one of their meets. It's an amazing experience.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW

Excellent car greatest bang for your buck. I really like how masculine the car looks. I passed oon the pontiac solstice to purchase this car and I am happy I did. If you want a compact sports car and don't want to break the bank this is the way to go.

Third Saturn I've Owned, and Doesn't Disappoint

Not only the first convertible, but the first 2-seater I've owned or driven. I loved my '99 Saturn SC2, but I had no idea what driving a true sports car was all about. The driver's seat is a bit roomier actually, even though the car itself is smaller. I'm a 5'7" female, rather long-torsoed, and there is head room to spare. I wish there was a tad more trunk space, as the transmission + the top take up virtually all of it. You do have space for an emergency roadside kit, flashlight/toolkit combo, plus a collapsible shovel if you live in an area that is subject to snow. As a woman I feel safe in this car, as I have a feeling of control. It responds beautifully, and I haven't even begun to put it to the test. It's going on a 600+ mile highway roadtrip soon. Maybe I should have waited and posted a review after that; however, the few local beltway trips I've taken have been pleasurable. (Imagine that!) And without question it's the best "city" car I've ever owned or driven. I recommend a test drive. What a sweet vehicle.

What a great SKY

I can't believe how nice the new Saturn Sky is. It has killer looks, great performance, and makes everyone stare at it. It's such a cool car. Plus it is WAY better than it's competion like the Miata, Z4, S2000, 350Z. None of them come close to the attraction this cars garners. Good for Saturn!

STUNNING

I have only had the car for a few months now. But, everyt time I take it out, people stop and stare at me. I can't count the number of times people have asked "is that a Saturn?" The styling os gorgous. It is lacking a little lower back support for long trips. For the money, the best car I have ever owned.

GREAT LOOKS!

Great looking car. Good overall value. Handles like a dream. Needs more power. The upgrade in the radio was well worth the extra money.

Newfound Saturn Lover

As a BMW enthusiast and owner of several 540, z3, and z4 I don't understand reviewers trying to compare the Saturn Sky to them. I don't think GM really was trying to make a car that compared to BMW or Mercedes. I recently purchased a Sky ...and am really enjoying the car. I did not purchase my Z3 or Z4 for the image...I purchased them because I wanted a nice convertible coupe that I enjoyed driving. Previously...my only other option was really the miata...which in my opinion the styling was too feminine. The SKY does not drive like a BMW....HOWEVER...it does have a german feel to the drive. For the money..this car is fantastic. The price is half of the german competiters while their is a sacrifice in quality, the savings more than justify this. I highly recommend the SKY to anyone that is looking for a fun car without breaking the bank.

Nice Car

All My Friends & Family Was Shocked That This New Roadster Was A SATURN. They Loved It. I Don't Care What People Say. This New SATURN SKY Is Nice. & For People Who Say It Not A BMW & Well Its Not Its A SATURN. SATURN Has Good Cars So What It Not A BMW. No Doesn't Need 2 Talk About It Because. This Is SATURN's First Convertible I Think It Nice & Very Upscale For The Money It Cheaper Then A BMW & Mercedes But It Drives Just As Good. I Love My SATURN SKY. I Will Never Leave SATURN. Because SATURN Make Cars Just As Good As BMW Or Mercedes So Who Ever Think SATURN Isn't A Good They Can Get A Life. I'm Very Glad 4 SATURN They R Getting Postive Feed-back On There New CARS Because Everyone Is Saying That They Cars Look Better And Nothing They Never Seen In They Life. So That A Good 4 SATURN. Hope They Keep On Doing A Great Job. Then I can't Wait 2 Test Drive The New SKY Red Line More Power Of 260HP In It So Its Going 2 Be Faster Then The Original Sky. Can't Wait 4 That.
