Toyota - says it all about reliability!

Excellent car for anyone specially for young adults/students/young professionals. Pump gas, change oil every 3K miles and that?s all. Very fuel efficient as well!

Most reliable car I've owned

Got this car my senior year of high school. Five years and 240k miles later, it has out lasted two jeeps and a monte carlo. Very reliable.

Reliable and surprisingly fun

I have owned this car for around 5 years and it has given me close to no issues. It's fun to drive and is pretty powerful considering it has a camry engine. The only issue I've had with it is the trunk latch. It repeatedly falls off after opening/closing the trunk for a while.

MY OLD TC

I JUST GOT RID OF MY TC BUT I MISS IT A LOT. VERY SPORTY, SLICK AND GOOD ON GAS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FUN CAR TO GET BUY A TC. EVEN THOUGH THEY DISCONTINUED THE BRAND FOR THIS YEAR, ITS STILL A TOYOTA BRAND AND NO DIFFERENT THAT YOUR CAMRY ENGINE. LOTS OF SPACE IN THE TRUNK AND YOU CAN FIT MORE THINGS IN THERE THAN MOST SEDANS BECAUSE OF THE HATCH BACK OPENING (PERFECT FOR MOVING )... PLENTY OF SPACE FOR 5 PEOPLE TO SIT WITH EASE.

Great first new car

Car was built well and included lots of extras with base price. Engine perhaps needed an little extra oomph.

Cheaply made

This car is definitely cheaply made. It's a good car for a young driver and it's pretty stylish, however, don't expect it to last a long time. The opener for the trunk has fallen off, the sun visors have completely come apart, the shifter has broken twice, and the clutch goes out numerous times.

Very fun car to drive.

The handling on these cars are great, pair that with the awesome sound system and you have a good time.

12 years and still love it

My first new car, loved the design, versatility, sports-car feel, and everything standard for $18K. That makes it one of the best values. The dash is the simplest design I've seen in a car. No major repairs at all in 12 years. With the rear seats down, I've fit dressers in there. A joy to drive, with nice acceleration and handling (with Z tires). Not the best in the snow, so had to get snow tires. Still, I love it and it still looks great too. Nowadays the fuel economy doesn't compare.

Sporty, reliable, fun to drive

When Scion debuted in 2004, they had a winning formula. Pure pricing, highly customizable vehicles geared towards Millennials. They built a great marketing campaign around the xB and tC. I purchased one of the first tCs, the special red "Release Series 1" with custom wheels, wing spoiler, factory ground effects, engine brace, and color-coded interior. I now have 180000 miles on the vehicle and it has been one of the most reliable cars I've owned. The engine is a simple Toyota 4 cylinder which consistently nets 30mpg. The seats fold down flat and make the interior roomy enough for 2 to sleep in. I can easily transport my bicycle inside, and I even hauled a small kayak in the vehicle. The only weakness so far are the rear brake calipers. I have had them replaced multiple times because the pins seize up. I believe that is a known issue. The original Panasonic battery lasted 11 years. Other than that, it's only been routine maintenance; tires brakes and oil changes. There is zero body rust or corrosion, surprising considering living in the northeast. There are minor ground clearance issues with the low profile tires and ground effects, however the superior handling and cornering are well worth the trade-off. I have no doubt this vehicle will last another 12+ years. It's a shame that Toyota has discontinued them. The Scion vehicles are a great value for the money.
