Even for a small guy like myself (under 5'9") the inside of this car is uncomfortable, its small and the headrest is sub-par, the short wheelbase makes every bump in the road felt hard regardless of suspension condition. Even for a small car the power output feels like it can barely get the car going and the transmission is a slow jerky change in manual or automatic mode. Finally the car is not reliable in cold climates as something goes wrong (my guess is an O2 sensor connection freezes as a code tells my a cylinder is misfiring when it clearly is not) and the shifter locks as a precaution preventing the car from being drivable.

I am in love with his car, so small and cute. Easy to drive around the city and so economical for getting back and forth to work. I am so happy that I found this vehicle with cars.com

Was out looking for a second vehicle one day , stopped at this used car place in my area. Saw this Smart car on the lot, was intrigued by it, and had to test drive it. And that?s all it took fell in love with it went to the bank, got a lone and the rest is history. Get asked about all the time and also funny looks I just smile and say when asked it?s the best investment I?ve ever made ..and I?ll take that too my grave..seriously..

Had a few common issues in the beginning including rear axle bearing leak and AC fan breaking with less than 40K miles. Rear axle seal fixed twice under warranty. The car is slow. Period. People cant stand to be behind you, and you cant do anything about it since the car is so slow. the car isnt good for interstate travel but its good for running around town. It will do 80-90 mph easy but its not comfortable. The air pushes the car around and you have to hold on to the wheel. Otherwise the car inside there is plenty of room and you dont notice its small until you look behind you. Overall, if you like small slow cars you will love it. Its easy to drive and park. But for longer trips and driving on frwys this is not the best car. Some reliability issues with repairs. Watch out for these cars with lower mileage because the items I had fixed are now out of warranty repair. And that brings up the last important point. Not many shops know how to work on this car. They cant do simple stuff like do an alignment. And thats the main reason I'd dump this car. The engine bay is small and shops just dont know how to work on it. But it is a conversation started and draws attention. A lot of plus and minus with this car.

As small as it looks you can't believe the room inside!! Everyone that laughs at its small stature is amazed as soon as they sit in it. It is a zippy little car with great gas mileage and a great conversation starter!!

Have loved owning my smart car! It?s fun to drive and is easy to whip in and out of small parking spots. Great gas mileage (40 mph) and is quite the looker. Small children stop and wave all of the time. This car has been a favorite.

Gas mileage is amazing with the fuel prices rising. It's a comfortable ride and an eye catcher. Very economical and safe. Family members are surprise the roominess of interior as I am 6 ft tall.

The Bluetooth for hands free phone is discontinued so it is no good any more,so I have this unit in my car and does not work,where I bought the car from they won't do anything about it,I will never shop there again

Loved my smart. Got lots of looks from people as I would drive and park around town. Even used it in a parade! The transmission took a little getting used to, but was happy to see great gas mileage!
