Good in snow
Car is good in winter and love the extra space inside. I had used this car to commute and it is very reliable during winter time. Runs great on snow covered roads. Mpg is also better than other vehicles.

Best all around car ever.
Quick awd car thats amaing in all weather. Ergonomically almost perfect. After a 12 hour drive you step out and not even sore. 5spd trans is hard to find but well worth it. Lots of fun.

Excellent car made better by excellent service
I bought this car new and have always had it serviced by the dealer, first Russell, now Heritage. The car has never, ever given me any trouble. I credit the excellent service it has received over its 240k plus miles. Thanks Lujuan and all the great professionals at Heritage! I know where I'll purchase my next Subaru.

A reliable friend
After 13 years it's time to bid my Forester farewell. So bittersweet, as its purchase was a great decision and it doesn't feel all that dated. Pros: Extremely durable. I've driven this car through everything and only ended up with scratches and scuffs So consistent. Even at 180,000 miles, gas mileage of 23/28 has held up and AC still runs cold Handling is adequate, as would be expected from a Subaru. Can tow up to 2,000 lbs Cons: Road noise is bad. Changing out the original Yokohama Geolander tires with Michelins helped, as did replacing original window gussets Like most cars, things start to go bad after 100k. In the last 3 years, I've had to replace front o2 sensor, rear wheel bearings, and now have a buggy air assist solenoid. Biggest caveat is leaky head gaskets, fortunately mine are holding thanks to using subaru coolant with a bottle of conditioner thrown in. Back seats are low and not comfortable. Also they do not fold 100% flat when down At 165 HP, a bit underpowered for a car this size.

Quality and Ambiance
I am very happy with my purchase of a 2004 Subaru Forester! Wonderful all around visual field?like having lodge seats at a movie house and optional sound-track score, wonderful stability on the road?none of that creepy sway effect, good acceleration, good gas mileage, an interior that is comfortable, attractive and cargo effective, dependable and good safety record/features.

Amazing, dependable, affordable, and won't disappo
I am the single -owner (now former owner after selling this car) of a Subaru Forester 2004 WS car. Bought it new in 2004 and fell in love with it over the course of the next few years. never gave me any problems, no maintenance issues, NEVER gave me a check engine light, performed routine maintenance as per owner's manual, and handled well in snow (I live in the Northeast). If you're looking for a small SUV, with good gas mileage (24-26mpg highway), great cargo room, and reliable handling, you should definitely consider this car!

Great little car
The only problem is the light tan carpeting. It gets dirty very easily. Would select different color carpet. Wife loves the heated seats as we live in very cold winter climate. Otherwise has been great car and is really amazing in the snow with the all wheel drive!

Sic years with a Forrester
After 66,000 miles, this car has been absolutely trouble free. Due to the four wheel drive, maximum mileage is limited to about 31 mpg, a little low for a car and engine this small. Ride on highway is choppy, due to short wheelbase. Not particularly quiet, due to SUV configuration and 4 cyl. engine. Lots of headroom and overall comfort for this size car. Very surefooted in rain and snow.
