Subaru Forester Touring Review

The 2017 Subaru Forester Touring is a great buy that I highly recommend for nearly any use, from rugged to city/highway driving. First, it gets one of the best gas mileages in its class, and is extremely good mileage for an AWD car. Also, from demos I've seen, Subaru's AWD is the best on the market, beating Honda and others for traction, getting out of hard spots. This makes it a great, safe family car for colder climates. The car is comfortable overall with lots of leg room in front and back seats. Seats are a little harder than our CRV, and over a long 6 hr trip, our butts felt the difference. But in normal trips of less than 2 hrs it's quite comfy. The car responds well to braking, acceleration and steering. I'd say our CRV is a touch smoother when shifting from P to D, or from R to D. But once you're on the road, it's very enjoyable to drive and just as nice of a feel. A couple other notes...Subaru's hold their value very well and are known to be quite reliable. I expect this to be the case with ours. The Forester is known to be a sort of suv crossover that's a bit quirky looking, historically. I don't think it's very quirky anymore, as the new design is more mainstream and attractive, in my opinion. In short, you get a lot for your money with the Forester. Plenty of electronic upgrades to this 2017 model too, like heated windshield wipers, heated steering wheel, homelink, starlink, 2 driver memory power seat. I'm very happy and this is the best car I've ever owned.

Wish I had this Forester Sooner!!

My above ratings say everything about the 2017 Forester I just purchased after having three Outbacks. I decided to switch to a Forester after my last Outback was totaled when the other driver was not looking and pulled out on me on a super highway. Fortunately, though, my wife and I escaped very serious injuries (and possibly death) because of Subaru's fantastic safety performance. Even though that was the case, we decided to switch to a Forester because of its outstanding safety record, having been named the number one compact SUV for 11 straight years.

Boring looks, exciting driving!

I always found the Foresters extremely boring looking cars, bot externally and internally in terms of desing. However, I also always knew that they are one of the safest cars that anybody can get. My wife' s new car, which is a 2017 Forester Limited edition with Eyesight, technology and cold weather packages, has all of the above characteristics. But I finally have a chance to actually drive a Forester, and boy, does it go! It is extremely agile, the road handling is unbelievable, and I had to admit, despite the boring cosmetics, once you are behind the wheel it is a very exciting car. I recommend everyone who wants a safe but also fun driving car.

Best car I have ever owned

This car gets great gas mileage. It has plenty of space in the back to carry anything you want. I love the hatchback as it is so easy to load and doesn't restrict how big something is to haul.

The Perfect Car for Any Sort of Family

This would probably be the last place you'd look for a review. And frankly, you probably already know that the Subaru Forester is a tank of a car. There is no denying it. It climbs the toughest mountains and forges some noteworthy streams. But Let's start with the drawbacks of the car. I've owned my car for about six months now and I can tell you that it's certainly not the best car in the market. I have the 2.5i Premium model which comes with the under-powered engine. It's noticeable. Although Subaru made the pedal box quite punchy (Which is rather fun!), with 170hp, it just falls behind the frequent honda accord when pulling away at the lights. However, it also must be noted, the subaru has one of the lightest yet toughest chassis in the market. It is lighter than both of its rivals the CRV and the RAV-4, both of which aren't the prettiest looking either. As a result, the car is amazingly fun to drive in the corners and grips like its glued to the road. For comfort, I quite like the forester, because there is just enough in the interior. Nothing more. You have an 8-inch touch screen with Bluetooth and radio, and a backup camera but that's it and that's considered standard nowadays. The seats aren't too small and we are a family of four with two teenage kids in the back. There is plastic in the interior but frankly, it doesn't bother me. There are two standard air vents, a neat rectangular center screen and a little storage area beneath the screen(for the phones I presume). No extradition. The back seats are comfortable with ample head room and plenty of versatility as both seats are able to fold flat(60-40). The legroom is just enough for a person of 5'7". The Forester comes with available all-weather floor mats which I recommend not just for this car but for any car. The boot space is amazing quite frankly for a car of this size. Although it doesn't go quite as far back as the RAV-4, the headroom makes up for it and as a result you end up with best in class cargo space. In all honesty I love this car. I'm sorry if you don't completely agree with my facts as I didn't completely do my research but after owning this car for some time and comparing it to friends' vehicles I can easily say this is the better of the bunch in terms of all around usability. It has the best interior, best off road capability and best cargo space of its main competitors. For the only gripe I had about the car, I would recommend getting the 2 liter turbo engine for another 80-hp for that extra speed. Thank You or taking the time to read my review

Try before you buy.

I had a 2.5 2015 Forester. Thought it to be a great car, but it need to be a 2.0 turbo. The up grade is a better transmission better power, a much better car. I will keep this and would recommend that if you are looking to buy, be sure to try both cars. I think that you need to feel the difference.

Great car for the price

This car meets all my needs and its safety features were the selling point. With two young drivers in the family I wanted a car that had the current safety features which include adaptive cruise control, lane assist, bluetooth (no distracted driving). I did't get any luxury items like leather seats, although the large sun roof is a great feature.
