Best purchace discision i ever made

This car has everything, speed, style, and AWD. Subaru thought of everything with this car from metal pedals to the 6 disc changer. I could not believe such features would exist on an affordable rally car that boasts times of 5.3 second 0 to 60.

i love this car

when i bought this car it was five years old with 95000 miles on it. it still impressed me even with the amount of miles on it. it has the power i want, the handling i'll use, and the brakes to stop me. ok so it might be kind of an ugly car with those headlights but who cares. i didnt get it for the looks. i cant wait for the snow to come so i can tear up some back road with the awd. dirt roads are a blast to go insane on. the car doesnt even get sideways, it sticks to whatever your driving on like its pavement. so it might not have the insane power of some other cars or the crazy torque, who cares, i dont want to spend a lot of money on tires like some other cars would that this car will beat.

I LOVE this car!

This car has performed great for me in all situations - off-roading on mountain/forest roads, bad weather, highway driving, even urban gridlock. We've driven it coast to coast - there's so much room with the seats folded down (and the horsepower to haul is phenomenal!). I see myself driving it another 5-10 years or more (if it lets me). This car has been virtually maintenance free. I highly recommend it!

Fun and fast - yet can haul a lot!

Bought car new and love it. It is a BLAST to drive due to the acceleration and AWD handling. Great in the rain and snow. Also great as you can haul your mountain bike, lumber, family, and still have a fun to drive sports car. My wife loves it as much as I do - it really has universal appeal. Also great safety features (and safety rating) due to side and front airbags and AWD.

amazing performance for the money

this car will run with the best, keeps up with other cars twice the price. gas milage is pretty good as long as your not on it 24/7, which is hard with a 227hp turbocharged engine. the ride is comfortable, even with my 2in lowering kit. long rides can be a bit uncomfortable, but i often take 2-3 hr trips with no back pain. with an aftermarket turbo xs exhaust the sound in INTOXICATING. there is simply no other car out there with the same sound. you can tell its a wrx with out even looking. this is the first car iv owned that i can actually say "im happy with it how it is." do not hesitate. go out and buy one RIGHT NOW. and if you can afford it, get the STI, you wont regret it.

"Dude,,, you got beat,,, by a WAGON!"

Yes it's true, I took my WRX to a performance driving seminar and shamed many performance cars costing many times more. If the WRX has any faults it's that it does so much well it's a bit schitzophrenic. It's a sports car, it's an econobox, it's an SUV, it's a commuter car. The only thing it doesn't do well is road trips, for some reason after 5 hours in this thing I start getting serious back pain. I used to drive taxi's for 10 hours a day and never had this problem. Nor do I have this problem in other cars. Might be age though. I am determined to get this thing stuck in winter. 5 seasons and I've thrown away my shovel. Thing is like a goat in snow, claws it's way out of 3 foot drifts. Handling could be better at the limit. Drive to deep you WILL get understeer. Slow in and quick out seems to be the best approach to corners. Power is a blast though, hope you don't have points on your licence. Wagon seems to be a bit more invisable to cops though. Nice stock stereo, in dash 6-disc was not available in a lot of cars in 01. Sound is less impressive. Interior is on the cheap side, more like utilitarian. But you get power windows, locks and keyless entry. Plus side airbags. Daytime running lights are a pest, and it's ugly as an alley cat, but it runs like stink and can haul your junk too.

Most WONDERFUL car ever.

Its a fabulous all around car. It has a sleek beautiful design, and is incredibly comfortable to drive. Its got a pretty great sound system, a 6 disk CD changer as well as a radio and a tape deck. Its very very very fast and handles superbly. I love the AWD - especially on curvy freeways like the 110 near Pasadena!!! It feels well built, solid and powerful to drive and is surprisingly roomy inside. The wagon version has lots of room for toting stuff around as the back seats fold down easily and create lots of room for larger items.

No torque

You have to have it reved up to squeeze any power out of it. No torque at low RPM. Handles great. Nice car for the average Joe.

Handling is Awesome

Hugs curves in dry or wet conditions very well. Plenty of punch when you need it. Good with Gas considering it is AWD. I would buy it again
