Long range AWD FSD ( great on long trips) I got white seats and am so glad. Really brightens the interior and they have been easy to care for. Battery lost range faster than my older Model 3 but it’s still around 295 after ~70k mi. Great in the snow but a bit more ground clearance would help. Cracked windshield was repaired by Tesla and cost about $1000 less than Safelight. No other issues except for CEO

  • Great SUV with some flaws

I've had this car for around a year now and its a great vehicle. The performance is stellar and it handles very well due to the low center of gravity. The main issue is that due to the larger wheels and lower suspension, the car rides very rough and worse than any other crossover/suv I have driven. I do not suggest it for longer trips as overtime the rough ride and bumps can become annoying. I also wish there were some tactile buttons for volume but the overall layout with the center screen works fine and gives the interior a clean look. I highly suggest getting the white interior as it makes a huge difference and is sort of a tesla hallmark. My other complaint would be the lack of apple carplay, Tesla's system is pretty easy to use but given that I am an Apple Music user it would be nice to have carplay integration. I also live in a colder climate so you would need a set of winter tires because the factory tires are summer performance rated. This seems like a harsh review but I mainly focused on the negatives since the pros of driving an EV really speak for themselves. Quality is hit or miss on these cars and I highly suggest checking for panel mis alignment and trim fitment, mine came perfect but I know other Ys do not.

  • Best car I've ever owned, but not for everyone!

Picked up our Model Y Performance on Dec. 26, 2021. It is a 2022 model, and perhaps there have been improvements from earlier models, but our Model Y has not had any panel gaps, NO rattling... the car has a stiff ride, but it's faster then my BMW M2, and is simply a blast to drive! It is NOT a luxury car! Don't compare it to a MB, Cadillac, etc. Yes... it's over $60k, but the average car price today, according to Edmunds is $47k, so it's not an inexpensive car, but it's also not $100k or more, such as a Mercedes. You're paying for technology, and battery plus the best charging infrastructure in the country at the moment. Walk up to your car with your cell phone in your pocket, the car recognizes you (or your wife, or whoever is registered to the car), and moves the seats back and the steering wheel out of your way, for easy access into your vehicle. Get in, step on the brake, and the seat moves into your preset position, the steering wheel moves to your position, and other features set to your pre-set preferences! Put the car in drive and go! No Start/stop button... just get in and GO! If you have an appointment in your calendar, and it's for 30-60 minutes from when you get in, the navigation will already be giving you directions to your appointment, no need to enter the info again! The Y doesn't NOT have cooled seats, no mood lighting, no built in garage opener unless you pay extra... there ARE features which most people expect in a car this price, which are missing. However... get on the freeway, in a traffic jam, put the car in Auto Pilot, and it'll accelarate, brake, steer... basically drive for you, other then changing lanes, or getting on/off the freeway! I can't tell you how great it is, when you're stuck in stop and go traffic on the 405, to have a car that you can rely on that does the driving for you! Yeah.. you need to tug on the steering wheel every 45 seconds or so, but the car is basically driving for you most of the time, while on the freeway. Plug in when you get home, wake up the next day, and you basically have a full tank! No need to stop at gas stations, no oil changes, fewer brake pads to replace... and after four months (admittedly, a short period of time) our Tesla Model Y has worked flawlessly! Not for everyone. Go test drive one, and see if you can live without the mood lighting, massage seats and garage door opener. If you want to travel in the lap of luxury, and have $100k to drop, this isn't the car for you! if you LOVE fast cars, that'll beat most sports cars on the road today while seating five people plus luggage comfortably... this car may be for you!

  • AMAZING PERFORMANCE WITH TONS OF INTERIOR SPACE

As a new owner of a Model Y Performance (2022), I can say that I have never driven ANY SUV (small or large) with this kind of performance. The closest one is a Porsche Macan. This car handles more like a sports car than an SUV. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and takes curves in a Porsche-like fashion. The ride is stiff, like a sports car, but you won't find this kind of performance for under $80,000 anywhere else. Lower YOUR carbon footprint and buy electric.

  • Honest review from an upgrading model 3 owner

So guidelines say pros and cons to the car: 1. On avg 40 bucks a month to (fuel up a month) 2. No schedule Maintenance, and if it is needed 80% done at the house. 3. Acceleration past others (and still only 40 bucks a month) 4. Everyone has a butt warmer!! 5. Autopilot - best driver assistance out there 6. No start stop button you just walk away 7. No smelling like gas/ standing in the cold. 8. Amazing 4wd system all computer monitored Cons: 1. If you like led interior lighting… there’s minimal. 2. No a/c seats 3. Range/ charger locations (it’s easy to reach popular destinations harder for mtn trail heads) I have been towed once due to Range issue (in 4 years)

  • Really fun to drive. I actually really recommend

I purchased a new 2021 model Y and I’ve put over 4,000 miles on it with little to no issues. My passenger door needed adjusting, but it was fixed in about 20 minutes.

  • Cool features but not a good car

Wanted to buy a Tesla. Car has cool features, but not in the same class as a BMW 3 or similar car. Once you get past the cool features it is just a average or below average car. Take it for a test drive on city streets and you will see, almost all cars are fine on a highway.

  • New Model Y: a terrific crossover EV

Traded in my Tesla model 3 for this vehicle and I have not been disappointed. This crossover rides tightly and hugs the road just like the model 3. The acceleration is amazing with the EV torque you get used to. The vehicle has much better room than the 3 and rides higher giving one much better visibility and road feel. My Y had no manufacturing issues and the paint, door panels etc are all perfect. Some of the rattle people complain about are the rear seatbelts and goes away if you fasten them (or a passenger is in them). I have the long range dual motor version which performs very well in heavy snow where I live. In terms of range in cold weather you lose about 20% in warmer weather you get it all. I am rated at 326 miles and am getting around 300 in winter weather. You need to put acceleration on chill and not squander electricity by setting the heat at 80! All in all ranking with the very best car I have owned in 30 years.

  • Great car for modern consumer

The only reason to own a Tesla is to create our sustainable future. You can find as much defects and flaws as you can, but is hard to explain is how easy and effortless it is to drive it! You are teleporting on the road to any place you want with enough safety and confidence. Other thing is that the view from model Y is panoramic to the front and sides. Not just for the front passengers, but for the rear as well. It is also amazing how much space inside you can find and how spacious it is for the outside size. Driving experience is awesome - handling, feeling, amount of steering, acceleration and breaking options. Performance and range is unbeatable from any other electric car manufacturer. Now there are several sacrifices to that. Interior does not feel super cheap, but maybe more minimalistic than it could be. Some basic stuff like the feel of the door closure or lack of luxury car features for the price is there as well. But you can find a better interior in S or X. However - it does not make a difference on look and feel. Especially if it is parked at your garage - to have a car always juiced up is a great experience. As far as issues, we had couple scratches on hinges, trim scratches and a few other things that where fixed in a timely manner, with all the respect, offering a courtesy car and $400 Uber Credit. So be on a positive side and enjoy the future!

  • My first and last Tesla

Reg: 2020 Tesla Model Y (aka Model Yugo) vin: 5YJYGDEE2LF009***. I have not previously inclined to blog about anything, but the negative experience due to the purchase of our 2020 Tesla Model Y (aka model Yugo) has inclined me to post the problems that we paid $60,000 for. As I have stated in other posts, there is a certain cool factor that goes with purchasing and driving a Tesla. There are definitely many cool features. If you are a young driver that is impressed by features that Tesla has and can see past the many imperfections and problems, then this car is for you. If you are an older middle aged person looking for a safe family car, I would not recommend rushing to your local Tesla showroom. First, my personal opinion about the car is that it is definitely not a luxury car. It does not ride like a Cadillac or Mercedes or similar car. The turning radius is non-existent. Not to take anything away from Toyota or Honda but it rides like a Camry or Accord, both cars I definitely like; the Camry or Accord just don’t cost $60,000. Don’t expect a luxury car ride. The service at Tesla definitely leaves a to to be desired. This was the first full EV that my wife and I purchased. When we took delivery of the vehicle, it was waiting for us in a parking lot. We were instructed to sign into our phone app and just drive away. There was no one to show us any features or explain anything about the vehicle, just a car parked in a parking lot and a phone app. We were instructed to view a series of YouTube videos if we had any questions about anything. Again, the app is where you communicate with Tesla about any service issues; no managers or service office to complain to if things go wrong or if something needs to be escalated. Just an app conversation with a technician. Office depot has far better service. If I purchase the wrong ink cartridge, there is more attention by Office depot than Tesla toward any problems. Once you schedule an appointment on the app, you can expect the appointment to be moved at least twice. Totally at Tesla’s discretion. So don’t rush to your boss’ desk to ask for time off until Tesla has decided when they have time to get to your service issues. This can change up to the day that your service is scheduled. Your life is entirely in their hands and don’t expect a loaner vehicle, rather they will offer you an UBER ride back home. Again, this lack luster service might be ok with a very young person, but anyone with kids or a busy career, this is very inconvenient. Who needs to spend $60,000 on a vehicle, only to spend the next three months or so juggling service appointments. Since we have had so many issues with our brand new 2020 Tesala, I thought a lot about how to share them all on this blog. My wife and I have a collection of videos and photos cataloging all of the issues. I am planning to publish a web site sometime in the future with all pictures and videos available. I do have my personal theory about why the Model Y has had so many issues. Three weeks after we took delivery of our Tesla, the company lowered the price by $3,000. I believe that Tesla wanted to push out as many vehicles prior to reducing the price. I believe that this caused the Model Y to be built in a hurry and with many issues. Below is a list of all the items that my wife and I have had to deal with so far with our new Tesla. 1. Wires hanging from underneath the vehicle 2. Roof glass was not installed correctly, allowing air and water to enter the vehicle. The glass had to be adjusted. 3. The charge port door was broken, had to be replaced. 4. Multiple exterior panels including fenders and hood needed adjusting. The car had uneven gaps on most of the panels. Most of the on the passenger side. 5. Door glass had to be adjusted, also allowing water and air to enter the vehile. 6. There is a crinkle in the center of the cars hood. My wife and I had decided to live with this, since there are so many other serious issued to resolve. 7. A very important and dangerous issue with the car was the screen. The screen was shutting off while driving on the highway and was freezing at random times. We stopped to check the mail and the screen stated that we were traveling 37 miles per hour. Without the scree, there is no way of knowing how fast the vehicles is going or what gear the vehicles is in. The screen controls everything. 8. The air conditioner randomly blew at high and would then shut off
