It's Not a Car, it's a Family Member.

I bought my 4 Runner new in 2001, it's now 2023 and still running strong. I think I have an emotional attachment to it at this point. The car has been with me almost 1/2 my life. I drive that faded paint car like a badge of honor, because it shows there was a time in my life, when I made a really good decision!

It takes a beating

Very reliable. Very capable and fun. Only had one issue with this thing and it was after I jumped it while offroading. Busted the steering rack. 300$ later she's good as new.

Love my 2001 Toyota 4Runner

The 2001 Toyota 4Runner is a great mid-size SUV. This SUV is great on and off road and is super reliable. My 4Runner is 17 years old with 225,000 miles. I purchased 8 years ago with 145,000 miles. I've really only had to change oil, brakes, tires and shocks. Largest repair so far were catalytic converters. There are two.

2001 & 2002 4Runners - best ever manufactured

Purchased a 2001 new and drove it for years before trading it on a 2004 with the V8. Loved the V8 but preferred everything else about the 2001. Recently purchased a 2002 SR5 for my son as a first car with 134K miles on it. Only required routine maintenance and reinvigorated my fondness of this generation of the 4Runner. My wife has a 2016 and I have a 2017 but I honestly prefer driving my sons 2002 the most. Toyota should go back and release the 2002 styling again with modern electronics and possibly slightly upsized to match current and it would sell like hotcakes. These 3rd generations go for 250K+ miles with ease so they are uber reliable.

It?s a 4Runner best all purpose suv

I love my 4Runner, it?s older now so it?s not as comfortable as it used to be and it doesn?t have all the fancy Bluetooth etc. but it?s a Toyota so it?s reliable, safe and can go anywhere.

This will be my 3rd forerunner.

I have been very satisfied with the trucks that I have had in the past, and I am sure that this one will also be a great investment. I am very comfortable and have a great loyalty to the 4runners dependability, performance and value. My previous 4runner OF 14 yrs. And 300ths.miles never left ME stranded, nor failed ME. TO get my money's worth out of the vehicle would BE a under statement.
