First Car
This corolla has been the first car I have owned, it was passed down to me by my mother and has been taken on road trips constantly. It is still in one piece and performing well, and that's all I need out of it. Very reliable.

Best gas intake for a broke college student
Being a college student driving between campus I really love the gas 20 dollars is enough for me to drive for awhile until I have to put more gas. I drive from oakdale to Brooklyn park 4 days a week and then the other day I drive from oakdale to Bloomington for a class. So either am in class, on the freeway or at home. I am so glad I don't have to put no more than 20 dollars and being on wrk study program it really helps staying on my little budget.

the production numbers tell the tale..
... and there is a reason this model line (generation) was one of the most popular of all time. It does nothing perfectly but everything well. It is reliable to a fault except for a problem with the OEM intake gasket. The beltline is a joy, you can actually see the four corners of the car. The engine is peppy and economical at the same time. The handling is fine for a car of this size and weight. As it happened I also owned an Elantra GT, which is listed as one of the alternative cars. Manufacturing defects in the rack and pinion, first head gasket, front rotors, and it rusted if you looked at it cross-eyed. Corolla is the better car hands down.

The perfect car for reliability
Purchased with 97K miles 12/11. Loved the auto trans. Put over 50K miles on it in 5 years. The only repair it needed was new engine mounts in 2015 for $600. Kept all the maintenance up. It had started using a tiny bit of oil every once in a while, so be sure to check your oil frequently. Was told by mechanic to always keep an eye on the oil at this mileage 150K. Put Michelin X-ICE winter tires on it a couple times and it drove like a little tank in bad weather. Texting driver rear-ended me - car was a total loss. Replaced w/2011 Camry. This car is a budget car but I liked it a lot. Second Corolla I've owned...first was 1999. It was completely reliable. I drove it hard in the mountains and on the highway. Always started even below zero. For my body size/shape the seats and comfortability was great. Hub caps don't always stay on so bought after-market Toyota lookalike hubcaps to keep car looking good. Highway driving is a bit iffy because the car is so light, but the passing gears are GREAT and there was no performance problem on the highway, except for the bouncy/lightness. I've owned many different Toyota models and they have all been superb cars. I will miss this Corolla even thought my Camry is beautiful.

Pretty good with the right mindset
2005 Toyota Corolla S Manual My family has owned this car for 8 years so far. In terms of comfort, the front seats are great, with good support for long drives. The backseat is very cramped with little foot and head room. The performance of the 1.8L four cylinder provides decent power for the vehicle when unloaded with one or two passengers, but feels lacking with more passengers or cargo. The manual transmission is good for the economy class. The shifter throws are decent and the shifts feel relatively tight. The interior's layout is excellent with all controls being easy to access. The feel of the interior is relatively cheap with early 2000's plastics almost everywhere. The factory 6 CD changer stereo is lacking, with decent highs, but muddled mids and lows. If the stereo is replaced, the factory speakers have the ability to sound much more crisp and clean in all areas. The car is relatively economical providing around 30 to 35 miles per gallon in a mixed driving environment. We have had only a few reliability issues with the vehicle, and only one issue that effects the overall functionality of the vehicle. First, we had to replace the positive battery terminal connector and the negative cable in 2010. This issue is the only one we have had that prevented the car from being driveable. The paint, the car's color is red, is awful. Even when stored in a garage, almost all of the clear coat has flaked off the roof, trunk, hood and front bumper with faded paint and paint chips all the way to bare metal in places. The other minor issue is the interior clock. The soldered connectors on the circuit board have the tendency to fail causing the clock not to illuminate. Overall, the car is acceptable within the cars class.

First Car; hoping for engineer's luck.
This is my first car and i couldn't be happy anymore. It has 90K miles on it and I am sure it can surely beat up some new cars. I mean its Toyota, there is no doubt regarding reliability. The car feels very comfortable from inside and also the engine feels pretty good. I tried applying hard brakes and the results were awesome. The pickup is also really good and it is smooth and sturdy on rough roads, even after 90K miles on it. It shakes little bit when it is stationary but I am thinking it just need little bit of tune-up. Overall, never doubt this car. If you are getting a good deal for it, just go for it.

A very reliable car.
This car has made it all the way through my college career, and has been extremely reliable. I bought it with 50xxx miles on it, and it has 127xxx now, and has only needed regular maintenance. I would say that the comfort is above average, and that is coming from a guy who is 6'5" and 250 pounds. This is a great car for the price, and would make a great car for anyone looking for low cost to own, and reliability.
