Most reliable car I have owned

My Highlander is a very comfortable riding vehicle. It has great stability and more room that any other vehicle I have owned. I will not own any other vehicle since I have experienced my Highlander

Probably the best mid-size SUV

I test drove Nissan Muranos, Acura MDX, & Honda Pilot and I thought that the Highlander was just the better overall vehicle. Acura MDX is overpriced for the most part and has way too many options (for me) and they are expensive to repair. Nissan Murano is a nice vehicle but doesn't have the third row seat or as good of resale value. Honda Pilot (V-6) didn't seem to have the power of the HIghlander and I didn't like the way it rode as well.

Luxurious Ride in SUV Style

We wanted the luxurious ride of a Toyota Avalon in an SUV style. The cabin on the 2012 is significantly quieter than our '06 Highlander - we often find ourselves accidentally speeding because it feels like we are going more slowly. Controls are not intuitive. We often have to consult the manual to do things like set the clock. The AWD works great for ascending snowy hills. (We gave up an Avalon for this car. The Avalon was quiet and comfortable, but no good on winter roads.) The biggest issue with Highlanders is that it is very hard to get a good deal on a used one . They retain their value.

This is my second Toyota Highlander.

My first Highlander (2002 model) provided me with 350,000 trouble-free miles. It was such a reliable vehicle that I chose a second Highlander (2012) as my vehicle of choice. I must also give credit to the service department at Doxon Toyota (Kevin Moon) for their excellent maintenance. Both Highlanders have been comfortable, reliable vehicles that have provided over 450,000 trouble-free miles.

Nice Ride

We purchased this car to transport my 94 yr old father in law. He is able to sit right down on the seat. He does have to raise up appox. 2 inches. But this is much better than sliding out or climbing up. My son is 6' 5" he is able to ride behind my father in law, who is 6'. I am 5'8" and I can sit behind both of them and still have 2" before my knees touch the seat.

Good car for that price

I was looking for reliable car with 3rd row seats and all wheel drive. Reason why I chose Toyota they never brake if you do regular maintenance and it will last you for a long time.

Can't beat Highlander!

This is an awesome SUV. So reliable. So much power. Great comfort and gets 20-23 mpg City/Hwy combined. Lots of cargo room. Comfort and quiet on the highway, yet rugged enough to get off on those back roads with ease. Not an off-road rig though. Handles FANTASTIC in ice/snow and torrential rain...all of which I've experienced while driving.

Difficult to find vehicle

This is probably the best in it's (SUV) class. We have the V6 base model with leather ordered the original owner.

Seemed like a great car

I test drove a couple 2012 Highlanders and they were just as great as I expected. I love the reliability of a Toyota. When it came down to it though I went with a 2012 Pilot because they seem to be a couple grand less for whatever reason. I thought the body style was also more "elderly" on the blue highlander everyone in my area had. I thought both Highlander and the Pilot rode better than the 2016 Explorer I drove though so that was nice to eliminate that from the list between that, the price, and the worry of reliability.
