Great vehicle!
Have had 2 Toyota Rav Limiteds and they were great. Decided to go with something a little bigger this time so got a preowned 2023 Highlander Limited. Love the ride, quieter than the Rav 4 and definitely more room. It’s only 3 inches wider, but 10 inches longer. Seems like the front area is quite a bit bigger than the Rav. Great purchase!

Awful car
The engine is awful. Has no power. It doesn't change gears quickly. It's also a very noisy engine and makes terrible noises when accelerating. I would stay far far away from this car

HATE.
There are multiple reviews about the engine/powertrain quality so I’ll skip that… Over 50k for a car that you have to have a subscription just to use remote start. The tech is absolutely infuriating- it’s impossible to navigate while driving. Switching from Bluetooth to radio is at least a 10 step process. The seats are insanely uncomfortable. The angle of the windshield/dash makes the area around the gear shift an oven when the sun is out. I have to stop and turn of the engine to get the alert system to stop beeping when my children exit the vehicle’s back seats- even if the car is parked and unlocked. The seats are horribly uncomfortable. Bought this for a family car- and wish I could set it on fire.

23 hybrid bronze edition
This is our second hybrid Highlander We are at 28,000 mi at the moment. Nothing but regular oil changes Does very well on gas roughly 34 average in the winter in the summertime closer to 40 I do have a towing package and regularly tow 14 ft x 7 ft by 9 ft high trailer and I do extremely well with it. My fuel economy drops by 50% when I do that but that's to be expected due to the insane drag Not sure what the future will hold and if it will have it to experience it. Pat, what exception of really cheap interior finish? There isn't much bad I can say about it. It's not the most powerful. Pat, I don't think I can expect that from a small four-cylinder hybrid. We are considered hybrid Grand islander

This SUV is Sleek, Sporty, Spacious and Safe
I'm thrilled with my 2023 Toyota Highlander! It's the perfect SUV for me and my family. It has a comfortable and high-quality interior that makes every ride a pleasure. It also has great performance and handles well on any road. It's a high-value and reasonably priced vehicle that offers a lot of features and benefits. I love the sleek and sporty exterior of the XSE that turns heads wherever I go. And best of all, it's reliable and safe, so I can trust it to last for years and keep my family and I safe. I would recommend this SUV to anyone who needs extra space and doesn't want to compromise on quality or style.

Gas Mileage Sticker Is Extremely Misleading
I made a mistake. In approximately July 2023 I traded in my 2019 Highlander for a 4-cylinder twin turbo 2023 Highlander Platium. The worst decision ever. After I purchased the vehicle, I noticed the distance was only 245 miles to empty. So, I brought this to the attention of the dealership (Toyota of Avondale AZ) who informed me it takes time to adjust itself. I was informed upon the next fillup of the same thing. The manager said it needed to be reset to read correctly. We did a reset. Not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, but approximately 5 times. After 5000 miles It was due for its first service. I was still stuck in the mode of just taking back your vehicle and refunding my money. However, that dealership believed it was just a little tweaking needed. That was not the case. On Nov 6, 2023, the shop did a road test with me, hooked up this highly advanced unit, and claimed there was nothing wrong with my vehicle as it registered approximately 20/22 MPG for the city and 40/0 to 17 MPG for the highway. Now, the reason the highway is so far off is that when I was driving at a steady pace it registered around 40/50MPG and when I accelerated (slightly) to keep up with traffic it adjusted to 17MPG for that brief moment. That should have been a major red flag for the dealership but of course, their machine gives the data not them. To my defense, I was smart enough to keep screenshots of fill-ups for two months to illustrate no matter how many times I fill up the total mileage to empty was NEVER over 300 miles. Matter of fact, the average was about 250 miles for a tank full. The tank on the Highlander is 17.9 with about two gallons of gas stored in the reserve tank. It can take approximately 16 gallons when nearly empty. SO, the management team at Toyota of Avondale comprehends my concerns as their machine is stating my vehicle has no issues but, my miles to empty when on full is less than 300 miles. Meaning there is some major contradiction going on which should not be the consumer's problem. So, they gave me a number to Toyota to call them and try to get them to buy back that vehicle. I will keep everyone informed on what Toyota will decide. I just think it is extremely sad that I was pretty much coached into keeping the vehicle for 5 months knowing it had major issues with gas mileage. I am a 100% disabled veteran so I do not drive in heavy traffic. I do not drive fast. I do not have a heavy foot. And I do not sit in traffic so, when I see a sticker on a vehicle that states 29 miles highway, at least let that be within range and not this 15/16 MPG. I am getting. Toyota has created a claim file so all I want is my money back and to move on from such a poorly made engine that is falsy advertised as getting 29 MPG to the gallon. I would highly encourage anyone who has purchased this new engine design to test their MPG. You just might be surprised with the outcome when you are filling up more than an RV with 10MPG.

Avoid Highlander
We had our 2023 Highlander for 2 weeks, 289 miles on it, and the engine blew. Fought with Toyota for 4 months before they agreed to a buy back. Lost money for 2 payments made and insurance. We were Toyota family for years and now have agreed that we'll NEVER buy another one!

Bad turbo engine. Class action suit
Terrible engine. The turbo has major lag. The car is not safe to drive. The engine won’t take off randomly from a dead stop which is dangerous for when you need to turn into traffic. I see a class action lawsuit in the making. Engine will buck and stall through entire acceleration curve up to highway speeds. Been into dealer 6 times since new. So much for the legendary Toyota engineering and reliability. This was a bad design that they are trying to expand and put in more vehicles. Grand highlander with the same motor? No thank you!!!!!

Toyota’s Has Gone Downhill
We have had our Highlander XSE for 3 weeks. Terrible mistake, looking to get rid of it already. Exterior is very nice looking, interior is very cheap looking. Just discovered it does not a a beeping sensor when backing, even the cheapest autos have a beep when using the back up camera. Have owned four Toyota’s before this, no more, they have gone back to cheap like in the 60’s!!!
