Love My "Big Tree"!
Purchased my 2005 Limited about three weeks ago and have been on a mission to make her a rock solid daily driver. Had timing belt, water pump, tensioner, Serpentine belt, upper/lower Radiator Hoses and transmission flush done by shop - at 135k miles basically the 90k service that should have been done by the prior owner. I replaced all coil packs and plugs with Denso OEM parts and did air filter and oil change. Picked up new key fobs from Amazon to regain keyless entry and rear window remote function. Also had a touchscreen Android Radio installed with Nav, DVD/CD, backup camera to bring tech to the 21st century. Paid $6800 for the truck and invested another $3k or so on repairs/upgrades. No complaints, was well under my budget and confident I have secured another 100k+ miles from this motor/transmission. Now for the bad and the only reason I rated 4 stars on some items. These trucks have a pollution pump (SAIS) located under the intake manifold that will fail. A very expensive repair ($2.5-$4k). Fortunately there is a bypass kit available for a few hundred dollars that previous owner had installed. Bypass works flawlessly except when atmospheric pressure drops during foul weather. This results in CEL and other dash lights illuminating and on occasion vehicle going into "Limp Mode". Fortunately I keep a Bluetooth code reader hooked up and can quickly clear these issues. Thinking a faulty pressure sensor in the bypass kit and will look to replace from vendor once certain. These trucks have great cargo capacity and are of much higher better quality than the domestic offerings from 2005. Drives like a car and gas mileage on Highway approaches 18mpgs. I average about 14.5 in mixed driving.

Love it
I was skeptical when I bought my Sequoia considering that wasn't the car I went in for, but I absolutely love it. The Mpg isn't wonderful but that is to be expected in a v8. Definitely the most comfortable ride I have owned.

Reliable Family Road Trip Car
Our Sequoia has been on numerous out of town soccer trips and has served as a primary vehicle to work, school, and hauling things for home upgrades and repairs and keeps on going. We've been good, but not perfect with maintenance and she has provided us with years of great driving. We've been blessed with this car.

One of the most reliable cars in history.
The best family or off-road car. Very reliable and dependable. Built like a tank. Excellent for long trips and can fit the whole family and entire ski gear

Horrible, I do not suggest purchasing this vehicle
After buying, the rear window on the hatch did not work, they tried to make me spend over $400 to replace the motor, but randomly one day, it started to work. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. The back hatch worked fine, but then one day the handle broke and now you can't open it at all even by trying to force the cable, they said they would charge about $2000 to fix. And if you leave it sitting in the driveway for over a week the battery goes bad, but the battery problem goes for every other Toyota I have owned. Probably the last Toyota I'm ever gonna have. Also if you look up the problems with the back hatch and the window, it shows hundreds of other people with the same problems, and Toyota claims that they have not received any complaints about it. This vehicle was made so you can waste thousands of dollars on getting it fixed. It's a joke.
