2005 Toyota Sequoia consumer reviews

After test driving several large slightly used SUV's the Sequoia blew the others out of the water. The Suburban, Expedition and Armada were not only out classed but for the most part over priced. The Toyota's power, ride, features and overall experience sold us instantly. Our growing family absolutley loves the new to us Toyota.

I have owned a lot of SUV's and even I have purchased a more expensive Yukon Denali XL, I am thinking of buying a Sequoia again, Cause of its car like handling and fantastis 4 wheel drive. The engine is smooth and quiet but has lotsa power for towing and hauling. The rear seats are comforatble enough for adults upto 6 feet as it is more spacious than Land Cruiser.Second row seats reclines. The average mileage i got out from Highway and freeway drive was around 17mpg.

After owning 5 Ford trucks from 1980-2001, and having serious quality problems with the last two (middle and later 90's trucks), I switched to my Sequoia in '01-because of Toyota's reputation for quality. My truck now has 84,000 miles, and has been every bit as troublesome as each of my last two Ford trucks (Bronco and Expedition). These are the problems racked up in the past 2 years on the Sequoia: 3 cracked exhaust manifolds Cracked steering column seal Broken liftgate mechanism Faulty fuel guage Broken fuel door release High beam indicator out I take excellent care of my vehicles and expect periodic maintenance issues. However these are things that I should not think would happen to a vehicle so highly touted. I do love the way the Sequoia drives, it is quiet, and has very good performance. However the overall quality, at least on mine, is not good. I like the truck, but would not recommend it to a friend.
