Handsome and Practical

I purchased this vehilce because I needed a vehicle with adequate ground clearance to deal with Maryland winters because I'm an essential employee now. Ergonomics are amazing in this vehicle. Everything is within arms reach on the dashboard. The touchscreen is quite quick, responsive, and well lit. The knobs are finished very well and easy to reach from the driver's seat. The seating position is very good as well and allows me to see over most vehicles. The levers on the seat side makes it easy to change seating positions. The Tiguan is very responsive with excellent road manners. Acceleration is almost instantaneous. The engine auto on/off is barely noticed at stoplights. It drives much smaller than it looks. So getting in and out of traffic on a busy highway isnt hard since the side view mirrors are large enough to see in the next lane. Also the blind spots aren'the really that difficult to see. The braking is pretty responsive as well despite the vehicle'sales weight. Even though it has a backup camera I still rely heavily on my mirrors when parking anywhere. The doors are nice and solid. Theyou close with a loud reassuring thud. I'd say the only con would be the power windows for the driver and front seat passenger. Simply pushing the front passenger one once it goes all the way down. However, the driver's window has to be held all the way down until you get to the correct level. The same goes for when you have to roll them up. All in all its a great vehicle to me.

The most boring car on the planet?

Well it starts and stops and is reasonably comfortable and that is it. The one I test drove was in a dreary dark grey, which suits the character of the car with a 148 BHP engine. It is so slow even compared to the little 90 BHP European car I drove to the dealership. If I could get it to go fast it would make me nervous on twisty roads as the steering and brakes have absolutely no feel. The only thing that kept me awake was the amount of road and tire roar from the 20 inch wheels. Also in the UK they are expensive and there are many better alternatives for the same money

very nice car - the family love this VW!

This car has everything we need - space for 7, selection of drive modes, very economical to run! The 4motion version handles great on both snow and ice. We love it!

Excellent Midsize SUV

I got this car because I wanted a midsize SUV with plenty of cargo space for travel. It has that as well as plenty of leg room for passengers. There are three USB ports and a vent in the back for AC and heat. I also love the moon roof. This car checked off all the boxes I wanted in a midsize SUV.

S.E. TIGUAN 7 passenger

This vehicle was purchased by my wife, for my wife, then she gave it to me. Haha. Wasn’t my pick and admittedly different from my previous vehicle (v6 pilot) truly- I average 24-25mpg and these days that adds up to roughly 33% of my payment covered by the gas savings alone, and I’m always first off the line. She’s quick when you stomp on the gas. Smaller yet the seats feel roomier. The back of the seat is heated as well as the seat on the S.E. model which is nice. Sorry VW because I’ve been talking shnit for years but thanks to a series of my wife’s co workers buying VW’s, I negotiated an amazing deal and I’m happier than I’ve ever been with a car purchase. Now let’s see how you handle the test of time....

WEIRD NEW ENGINE ISSUES

Wai til they get this thing figured out. Not a good mechanical car...yet..let's see how it plays out. Acceleration, hesitation, auto quit. I like the size, the new style. DVD plays one at a time and hidden in the glove compartment. IN the shop dead at 8000 miles.

Worst car I have ever owned

Bought this car especially for its safety features as we have a new driver in the family and wanted the best safety options. We have currently had this vehicle back at the dealer repair shop 5 times with in the year ( car is only a yr old) due to malfunctioning saftey features. Started with errors in the air bag (after 2 mos of owning) where the dealership said not to put anything (like a purse on the seat). So apparently it cant handle passengers. After the 2nd time of taking it in for that was finally found to have a bad sensor. We have continued to have malfunctioning sensors even after a repair on a sealant . The car typically malfunctions when it is raining. (Not rain proof apparently) one issue that was fixed did end up being a recall later. Have had system reset multiple times with ridiculous excuses from our dealer stating its common for things not to work in heavy rain, (REALLY!) that should be on the window when buying. However we were also told shadows can cause it to unexpectedly brake! The side mirror safety warnings when merging often do not work and we have had issues with the heated seats staying on ( dealers excuse on seat was that it was probably because the person was moving) I was that person, was not moving. Once again this car sucks if you want to have passengers. Extremely un happy with this car and our dealership. We are very close to filing it as a lemon. If you only drive on sunny days with no shadows and have passengers that can sit like they are frozen maybe this car is for you. If you want to be confident in the safety of you car with your family, look elsewhere.

High end looking vehicle

The new Tiguan body design is very sharp, sleek and has the look of a higher end vehicle without the high end pricing. Has lots of luxury features. Love this vehicle.
