When it shows up next week at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2008 Nissan Titan will be sporting new exterior and interior refinements, a longer wheelbase, and new 4×4 off-road package.
On the outside, the prominent chrome grille and chin remain but the lines have been firmly chiseled and paired with new beveled wheel wells. The headlights and foglights have also been updated.
A new long wheelbase option increases buyer choices by lengthening the King Cab Titan’s bed from 6.1-feet to 8-feet and ups the Crew Cab’s from 5.6-feet to 7-feet. Along with the longer boxes, the gas tank has also been expanded to 37-gallons from 27-gallons on the standard wheelbase models.
Inside, the Titan gets new front seats and a heated rear leather bench. The instrument panel and dash can be optionally skinned with wood accents, and stronger gauges and a larger navigation screen provide a little bit of that Infiniti feel. Bluetooth is an option for hands-free calling with Bluetooth capable cell phones.
Also new for 2008 is the PRO-4X off-road package to beef up the Titan’s capabilities off the pavement. Dirt cred comes from Rancho shocks, an armored transfer case and oil pan, an e-locker rear differential, and upgraded wheels wearing 275/70R-18 tires. Special exterior cues include PRO-4X stickers and a body colored grilled.
The 2008 Titan hits dealer lots in May.
We’ll have more info February 8-9, 2007 when we report directly from the Windy City for the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.
