Originally I was looking at F250s & F350s, but I am so glad I looked at the F450. The commercial frame is beefy enough to haul pretty much any fifth wheel, trailer or camper that I might buy. The options and interior space blew the doors off my expectations and all the other trucks I looked at. The turning radius beats my old F250 by a large margin and the twin turbo diesel gives me peace of mind that this could easily be the last truck I will ever buy. My 2009 F450 is an incredible truck! The engineering and performance are truly impressive. I tow a 41' 5th-wheel toy hauler and my F450 delivers the power, braking, and comfort not available in other trucks. I am so impressed with the exceptional tow ratings and GVWR. Friends comment on the beautifully appointed interior, sound system and overall appearance. Mechanically, the truck has been stellar.

I have tried Chevy Duramax, and it was lacking power, and the transmission died after 3 years with low mileage. so then I switched to ford and it is working so much better. plus the controls are so much more comfortable.

We tow a 35' fifth wheel travel trailer, which can be fully loaded to 17k, at least once every 3 to 5 weeks for a minimum of about 300 miles round- trip. We have had zero problems while towing and have done little more than standard maintenance on it. We bought new in 2012 and currently have a little more than 108k miles on it. This is the first year that we have had to spend some money on repairs, but it is nothing that I have not heard of from a diesel truck of its age and mileage. I am glad I sprung for the King Ranch version (I actually could not find a dealer on the west coast states that had an XLT with Fx4) as this is the first vehicle that we have owned longer than 5 years or 55k miles. We love our f-450 and hope to see at least 500k miles without too much trouble. As far as mpg goes, our truck does not seem to care of it is towing 5k pounds or 20k pounds, the mpg seems to remain the same. Doing a u-turn in our f-450 is a dream compared to our previous 2004 f-250, much tighter turning radius with an easy one hand touch instead of two difficult hands from our f-250.

Bought a 08 Ford F-450 2 years ago with 87,000 for 30 grand. Flew out to Omaha and drove it back to Wyoming. Diesel hog to the max. Spent a lot getting it back. Have replaced: front locking hubs-both sides, shocks, wheels, tires, mirrors (both sides) running boards, front and back bumpers, new brakes and rotors, (Ranchhand on the front because of too many deer on the road out here near the Wind River Mtns. (I've hit 6 in 20 years with my suburban)). Had it tuned with a computer I bought out of Canada, The same company won't sell it in the states. We cut off everything and tricked it into thinking it still had all the smog stuff. Straight pipe to the back and I no longer need to add def. Have lot's of horsepower and I don't even have it on the go-fast tune. It also doesn't have the old way of following the ruts in the road and it doesn't decide to change lanes on it's own anymore with the Striker front steering 2 shock arm. Steers easily with my pinky now. 100 gallon tank in the back helps me from jouncing off the ceiling due to the stiff ride. I was getting 11 or less mpg. Now I avg around 18 and in long hauls more like 24. That is if I go 55. 65 and up the mileage goes down significantly. Great looking truck, I just love it regardless of what others say. Got it with a hairline crack in the oil pan. Replacing that pan cost $3500 as the engine had to be lifted. Replaced the fuel filters on it and still have the original tires as well as a new set of 6, anyone interested?

So far the truck has been great. Great shape for being used. I needed it to pull my tractor and small back hoe with. It is in very good shape and looks great.

my family bought this truck in Feb 09 and I've never been in anything more comfortable or driven anything more pleasant in my life. after 56,000 miles no problems and it pulls trailers like theirs nothing their. Price is a bit much after discovering we could have gotten a F450 chassis cab for about 15,000 less (15,000 dollar pickup box?) but overall, great truck!

I drove over 4 hours to purchase a vehicle from Nick. When I got there he had it up front and let me inspect it, and test drive the vehicle at my pace. Most of the features are conveniently located for the driver. The truck pulls a load well. Its also hauls a load and carries it also carries a load well.

My family and I drove on to the lot and started looking at vehicles. We had seen a car on CarGurus and took a chance and drove over from the east side of the mountains. Now buying a used car is scary. But there was never any pressure to purchase. They showed us many cars and that were in our budget. yes I have the 2011 F450 Guinee pig, as I call it. I have really had min. issues. One time the pressure box for the Turbo blew the ring off at the connection portion of it? Still don't know why, Bad mold? Turbo issue? They fixed it for fee, Now mind you my Truck is low miles owned straight from Factory. I currently have about 76000 miles on it. Not to long ago the engine light came on, I pulled over and looked under the hood. Everything was full, and engine light did not flash what was wrong nor looking at the computer part of the gages told me what was up. I figured I have an extended warranty my husband said drive it home. Drove it up to Ford. They ran their code on it. and the heating element for the DEF tank, was going out. It hadn't completely gone out. But going. That is 1000.00 fix thankfully my extended warranty covered it. with a 100 dollar deductible, July 5 I took it into Ford Quick Lane. had the oil and all the filters changed. I drove it up to Woodland Ca and back. Thankfully what happened yesterday didn't happen on the 10 hour turn around. I had to go get something Big so I pulled my truck up to wash it off. Turned off the hose. I could hear something running like a cow peeing of a flat Rock. I looked and about then it died. as a safety Code went off. I popped the hood, turned on the key aux and fuel was spraying out of the Fuel filter. and the cap seal portion. spraying is an under statement. It was coming out like a high pressure Hose with no end. Dumped a tank a fuel in a matter of seconds. Had it towed up to Ford. and They tried to give this spill of we had to order a part, and we will have to take off the manifold to get to a hose which is ran under the manifold. Ya they have plastic manifolds. Big Job as they said. I said well my truck better not have any issues after this. You guys messing with things under my hood. Oh it will be fine! No Fine isn't good enough. I want the engine compartment Degreased as well as the undercarriage. I better not have any issues with wiring components, Or any other damage due to the diesel spraying all over! So will see. I have not had but three things happen on this truck. Since 2011
