Overall, A good value. Fairly Dependable V6..A few issues would make it a much more dependable car. Starter catches oil drips, ruining the starter. Speedometer needle fell off. Odometer light goes out periodically, paint fading on roof and hood.. Small issues take away from the Taurus overall.

This car meets all my needs with a large trunk space. Seats 5 adults comfortably. I've owned this car for over 10 years and it has never failed me.

Great solid and comfortable car to drive. There was a bit of a learning curve getting used to the visability when backing up and Changing lanes but now that I'm used to it I'm more comfortable. Just find that this car might be more difficult to drive for a new driver or more inexperienced drivers.

I was the 2nd owner of this car. I bought it with 86,000 miles on her. She now has 255,000 miles on her. I have had no significant repairs from 200,000 to the present. It is, by far, the best, most reliable car I have ever owned. When we considered purchasing it, the sales person helped me research it. The professional review said the trunk was so big, you could fit 5 bodies in it. No lie, it has a huge trunk! She loves to go fast. She prefers the highway. I can honestly say this car is at her best while going 70 mph. I had 3 teenage sons, and we traveled comfortably to Colorado from Michigan. It handled the mountains with ease. It has its quirks, but with good guidance with a mechanic, you can manage them. The information out there says to expect 300,000 miles out of her. I believe this is accurate. She shows no sign of slowing down. It's great.

i have 2005 taurus very good car dependable , only thing u have to be gentle with is the transmission , i went to install a rear hitch . they won t they say the transmission is built for towing , other wise no other problem to speak off

There has been a 2011 Taurus SHO in my family since 2013 it was purchased with 10,000 miles and now has 140,000 these cars are great they have good power they're decent to drive and they're mainly designed for Highway driving. Plenty of power considering it's a 90° V6 it sounds not terrible and it can haul xxx the reason cops use them the infotainment in the early cars pretty much anything sync 2 is outdated and it feels that way however it's not unusable. The rest of the Interior is decent you still have some cheap feeling Ford Plastics but the seats and most things you touch are decent to sit in and deal with especially if you're a bigger person. There is a lot of space we have fit full vacations including me and my two siblings on many trips to Florida and Texas however it is a not all Sunshine rainbows. As for maintenance these cars tend to eat brakes quicker and we have had to replace all the piping to the turbo as it got filled with oil this car also received a catch can on top of oil changes every 5,000 miles, coolant flush every 15 to 20k and Trans Fluid every 30,000. You cannot talk about this car without the elephant in the room that being the water pump if you don't want to change the water pump don't buy this car go buy a Honda Accord my family bit the bullet and paid to get it done at 110,000 it's done now we don't need to worry the car has been great if you're not afraid of doing maintenance I would recommend this car they're cheap

This is actually for the 2001 Taurus I just sold and bought a low mileage 2007 to replace it. I am Taurus-addicted as they are great cars for anywhere near the money. They are mechanically identical with the '01 needing much brake work and a new compressor but the power train is bulletproof. Great cars for the bucks spent.
