Bought second hand, and would do it again if I could find! Very very few problems, I've owned for 6 years and I just hit 100k miles. Replacing things per manual and hope it runs as strong as before!

I own the 2005 jaguar S type 4.2V8 for 13 years. I drove it until it had 215,600, and it still drives like butter! I had to replace the water pump at 64k mile, radiator at 110k, timing chain, serpentine belt, and gasket at 125k. After that, it's been routine oil and brake changes. I recently retired it to my garage and I'm about to donate it to colleague at work, but I'm looking for another to buy now since I'm considering donating. Such an amazing vehicle that has done me well. I have no regrets irrespective, of the little challenges I had incurred, owning this vehicle. I could go through with it again.

My 2008 S-Type Jaguar is far and away the best car I have owned over the past 50 years. A beautiful build, plenty of power, loads of amenities and problem free.....drives like a Jaguar! Best part is that it looks like a classic Jaguar and I get high /waves where ever we drive. Like driving a show car. Never any issues at all!

This car has more than exceeded expectations. I came upon this car at a shop I was performing services for. To be fair, they elected toake it a part of my work package for the season. I nearly turned it down because it is Anthracite Mica in color. It's black and is very hot in summer sun noatter where you are. This is the S-Type Sport version and was originally purchased as a special order. I traced the history and it has spent most of it's time in Ohio. This beautiful cat came to me with 82,000 miles on it and now just turned over 100,000 after 2 years of ownership. It is a very amazing performer and has the CATS System and that makes it an astounding performer. Maintenance has been usual and very normal. I have studied the Jaguar history and many models extensively and know lots of answers to most questions posed by owners. There are quirks and a temperament that comes with owning Jaguar Automobiles. A sound bank account is a good start. My studies have created a solid knowledge along with the dealer relationship I developed with Kempthorn Motors of Canton and Green, Ohio. After 20 years things are starting to show up and need repairs. There are minor rust issues on some body parts and the headliner is scheduled for replacement in October by a custom interior shop locally. The wheels will need refinished so they return to their former glory. They aren't terrible, just need kept in top shape. There are some subframe bushings and bolts getting replaced on the rear. The passenger window regulator needs replaced, temperature sensors and perhaps system needs replaced. I will be also doing a water pump as a preventative maintenance procedure prior to failure now. A little attention needs paid to the leather on the driver's seat due to wear. I am willing to put the finances into this vehicle as this is the finest car I have ever owned. Nothing rides or performs like Jaguar. I did my homework and studied this model extensively. Jaguar is more than a car or just another vehicle. It is an animal all its own. I am purchasing a other Jaguar and will likely be the XJ8 or XJR. My Jags will get covered and mostly stored for winter and my diesel Ford Truck will be driven. These cars deserve careful consideration and treatment. Nothing lasts forever. All Jags need maintenance. At 20, no complaints here. All vehicles of age require certain forms of expensive maintenance and upkeep. I am a sponsored semi-pro athlete and bicyclist and the S-Type is my bicycle transporter of choice. It gets looks when I drive up and the bicycle comes out for the events I participate in. It is US Air Force Cycling Team Veteran owned and Jaguar also built a military SEPECAT Jaguar and is still in use today.

This car is a luxury sedan but is quick like a sports car with 235 horse power and the same transmission as a Land Rover the car is very fast heat and air conditioning is fine,tires are new I don’t use it in the snow or rain no rust.

Here is a review of my start to finish process of buying a car from Gateway Classic Cars, Ft. Lauderdale: ----- 1. The sales people who you work with are not on site. They're working remote so they don't have eyes on the car. ---- So, 2. You'll want to be connected with someone on site who can start and drive the car, provide a walkaround video, pictures of whatever you want and give their input. I worked with Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location for my purchase and he was outstanding with helping me to know the car before making an offer. He is the reason that this is a 5 star review. -------- 3. Hauling: They'll get you a quote for hauling the vehicle. I chose Nexus Transport myself to use. They were a bit cheaper and top rated by Forbes. That went just fine. --------- 4. These cars are all on consignment. So, I feel that you have to be a little more careful because you have another party who may not have disclosed things to Gateway. Best practice is to get a pre-buy done from someone like Lemon Squad. That being said, I was so comfortable with my deal, took the risk and waived the pre-buy. And in my case, the Prowler is a mint gem and I have no concerns after receiving it. Also, there is a common thought then you buy a car like this, you should budget 10% or so of the price for maintenance right after you get the car because stuff always comes up, otherwise, don't buy a used car. --------5. Since they're on consignment, they have commissions they charge the seller. As a buyer, I don't care if I see a commissions line on the purchase agreement. As long as my out the door number was what I offered, that's fine. --------6. I wired money to them and within a few hours, I had all the fully executed paperwork back in my hands. Title took about 3 weeks to receive by UPS. And the folder had everything I needed to register the car in my state. Wow! Thank you Barbara! ------ 7. So here is what breeds loyalty. Alex at the Ft. Lauderdale location made sure the car was completely ready to be picked up including accessories that were bubble wrapped. The car was supposed to be picked up at Noon on Saturday, plenty of time before they closed at 5pm. He stayed until the truck arrived...very late....AT 1:30am Sunday morning!!!! (Otherwise, it would have sat until Tuesday). I cannot believe he did that for me. I received my car loading video at 2am. That's unbelievable service that deserves more than 5 stars. ------- Summary: I'd have zero issues with buying from Gateway again....they just operate in a different dealership style than what I'm used to, which is just fine.

This is my second "S" type! The first was a 2003 I purchased new and obtained excellent value driving 100,000 miles without missing a beat. Regrettably the car was discontinued in 2008. I was able to get a 2007 with only 22,000 miles. It has been perfect and now has 74,000. I would be very eager to get another low mileage "S" type, but they are getting rarer! The new models may be great cars, but they don't look like Jags!

Got a 2009 Ford Explorer about 2 months ago from these guys. I can’t be happier with it, not just that I bought it for a great price but the vehicle itself is perfect for the year and the price! Smoothest ride I've ever owned. After owing a Porsche, and a BMW - I'd stick with the Jag. Handling is very smooth and agile. The 3.0 has plenty of get-up-and-go. It's really the best road car I've ever owned. Steering is spot on. Brakes are very smooth. Running mid-grade it's 23+ with local driving and 29+ over the road. Overall just a very nice luxury-sport car. And yes, I'll buy an S-Type again.

Love driving the 2003 Jaguar S-Type. Leather interior, bucket seats, decent gas mileage. Not bad for a 17 year old vehicle that is fun to drive.

I conducted the transaction for the most part over the telephone and online without any difficulties gave them a deposit and then arrange for air transportation to Denver from Fargo Dealership representatives picked me up at the airport took me to the dealership and an hour later I was on the road back home so I was quite satisfied with the entire transaction and the quality of the car was everything that I had hoped

Found a well loved, pristine, garaged 80,000 mile example, belonging to two previous owners. Power from the V6 automatic is adequate for highway traffic situations that call for pro active control. I have owned and driven a few true Cadillacs, 1952-62-64-69-78. This Jaguar beats them all overall. Being prepared to work on it DIY is a comforting situation but many pro repair costs are the same or less than other cars. Considered dozens of BMW and Mercedes cars after owning both but this still undervalued Jaguar s type is a lot of bang for your buck in great condition.

Stunning looking very comfortable silky smooth ride and effortless driving performance. 2005 year and over 100000 miles with jaguar full service history. Some people may think I am crazy because I bought a 14 year old Jaguar S-Type V6. But who cares? Jaguars are often owned by people who don't really think about what others may think of them or the cars they drive. They just drive those cars to enjoy, to love, and yes, some keep them until they die :-) I ‘d say Jaguars are for those who appreciate some finer things in life, those who have a good sense of style and class; for those who don’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore (they’ve done it already). S-Type is not the fastest or a finest Jaguar around but it is a classy car that unmistakably looks like a Jaguar (no offence to newer models). I personally like the feel of a steering wheel made of some good quality wood and leather. The car is quiet on road with a good performance. Get one and enjoy!

SO I HAD NEVER DRIVEN A JAG BUT LET ME TELL YOU I WILL NEVER LET THIS BABY OUT OF MY SIGHT!!! CRAZY COMFY, CRAZY FAST, HANDLES LIKE A RACE CAR. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE YOU NEED TO GET ONE AND FEEL 40 YEARS YOUNGER!

Friendly staff, not too pushy; however, Buyer Beware -- they do a great job making a car look great both in pictures and in person, but the car we bought turned out to have nearly non-existent brakes, badly worn rotors, and, unfortunately, engine damage from having been run with little to no oil in the past. We checked the oil in the parking lot, looked new and topped off, and no signs of leaking. Didn't check the exhaust pipe, however, which would have given a clue to the amount of oil the engine was (is) burning. We discovered this upon getting a 120K mile service interval one week *after* purchase from XDrive -- they pulled the oil filter and there was a TON of metal shavings in it, and we soon discovered that its burning oil at the rate of approx. one quart per gas tank or six hours of driving time. Only way to have found this was to have it checked by a mechanic *before* purchase.

Great deal...five owners??? Yup. Figured what the hay so stopped...test drive followed by purchase. Decided I would completely restore it. After 18 months I was amazed smoothest ride ever! If you get one plan on people stopping to ask about it. May sell and start another project!
