We were interested in test driving a pickup and someone else beat us to the test drive, so we waited to see if the man was going to purchase it. When he came back from test drive he couldn't decide and was dragging his feet making a decision for well over an hour. As it turned out the sales rep Diane R. was able to determine the sale was not going to take place and she helped us to purchase the truck. She expedited our transaction quickly so we didn't have to wait any longer. We highly recommend Miller Hill Subaru this was the second vehicle we purchased from them and are very satisfied.

I bought this car with 156,000 miles on it and it needed a new fuel pump, a knock sensor and two tie rods. All went well with the exception that because of the age of the vehicle the computer would not reset the sensors without driving it for over 250 miles in order to have it pass inspection. Very happy with the overall performance...

Best van ever! We owned two both went over 200k. We know another lady had one well over 200k would still be driving it past 300k if I hadn't messed with ABS and got air in the line!

SAM'S THE MAN IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NEW VEHICLE
by Loving My Ford from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.7 (1086 reviews)
We sent an email Thurs morning saying we were interested in a specific car--It wasn't very long before Samuel Stovall called us... per our request, we set up an appointment for 10:30 the next morning---we got there and Sam met us at the front doors with the car we were interested in.. took a test drive and filled out the paperwork ( Sam was very helpful with the paperwork)-- Eric Highley did an awesome job getting us a great rate on our financing---we were signing the papers before noon--- had to wait just a little bit for them to finish detailing the car BUT that was okay as it was a nice day and we sat out on the patio sipping tea---when the car was ready, Sam took the time to answer all our questions and show us how everything works.... Awesome Customer Service from Sam Stovall, Eric Highley and everybody else involved in the transaction--- it went smoothly and was done in a short time--- the only way it could have been faster is IF we had filled out the financial info online ( like we did last time we bought a vehicle) and emailed it ahead of time... We are repeat buyers BUT it was 18 years ago that we bought the truck from them-- it was an awesome vehicle with no major mechanical problems- with the excellent customer service we received the 1st time, we naturally came back to Joe Machens Ford.... I also wanted to say in response to another review I read on Google, we are NOT wealthy people / "important people" NOR look wealthy--just plain old everyday folk and we received AWESOME SERVICE.... I loved the fresh popcorn and the wide variety of drinks ( raspberry tea is to die for)... the restroom were clean and well stocked.. and the huge TV and lounge area was great.. as was the patio. Thanks Sam and Eric for everything... Van and Nancy Kessler
We've owned Villagers since 1993.

We've owned Mercury Villagers since 1993. We have loved our Villagers. All except one has gone into the high mileage category. Our 2001 has been a huge disappointment. But, we just bought our 4th Mercury Villager. Our second 1997, which we just loved our first with 255,000 miles on it and still runs and drives great. But, we needed another with lower mileage and this has 106,000 miles. Would recommend any Villager older than a 1999 when they changed the distributor and other things and changed the car for the worse.

Worth the Drive

I drove an hour sight unseen to this dealership and could not have been more impressed with the sales department and financing division buying for a new Volvo. I filled out the online credit app., sent a few things by email and my car was ready by the time I got there with a lower price than I even thought was possible. So much more professional than "car salesmen", they actually made buying a car a great experience. Every other dealership I felt like I was being taken advantage of, and was in a trap. This dealership was the opposite: they gave me a better deal than I even thought was possible and answered every question on my level, and had a sense of humor. A rare thing to find in dealerships!

I bought this car for it's reliability as it is a Nissan with Mercury badges- owned it for 14 years and it's been all over the West and in the mountains for travel and work. Very few repairs- mostly normal maintenance. Great performance, style, comfort, and dependability. I now own a Nissan NV Light Cargo Van and look forward to many years with the new one.

After several disappointing and shady experiences with car dealerships up north, I decided to expand my search. Paris motors had the perfect jeep for me. Micheal is truly a gem. I met Al and the owner as well. All of them are really nice guys who treat you like they would treat their sister or their mother. If you are tired of the stereotypical used car salesman tactics, this is the place to buy from. They are honest, warm, and welcoming. Definitely worth the drive. Thanks so much guys. I love my new jeep!!

Ralph is "THE MAN"!

Ralph was very helpful and didn't try to 'push' the fluid changes on us while our vehicle was in for warranty repair / recalls. The fluids, while not terribly bad, could use a change but when I looked at them and said 'those can wait until next time' he just said OK and didn't push the issue. He got us a rental car from enterprise and due to my wife's work schedule he pushed the repairs ahead and got her on the road in time! He's a Rockstar!

This car is a trusted friend

I bought a used '97 Villager in 2002 and drove is for 8 years; Not selling it until 2010 when it had 250,000 miles on it - and still running very strong. I then bought a 2002 Villager Estate with leather and a sunroof; It was a Florida van with no rust and 60,000 miles. It is now March 2016 and this van still runs like an absolutely brand new vehicle. I have a DJ business and it carries all of my equipment easily; Or I can pop the middle seats in and carry 7 people. It's compact on the outside and big on the inside. It tracks straight and true, has a tight turning circle does 80 mph at 2900 RPM while giving you 23 mpg. I recently drove it from Albany, NY to St. Pete, FL in 19 hours down and 20 hours back. It's quiet, fast, good looking, reliable, inexpensive to maintain and a pleasure to drive. Find a nice rust free example that's been taken care of and it will carry you a minimum of 300,000 miles in comfort and style. I've been driving for 50 years and have owned dozens of vehicles. Only 2 of those vehicles have ever actually talked to me; My 39 Ford Deluxe Sedan and both of my Villagers. Seriously, this car will communicate with you - on several levels - if you listen! Whatsmore, it fixes itself. The very few times that the engine or ABS light has illuminated - it has always repaired itself within a day or two of driving. Just treat it good and it will be a trusted friend for hundreds of thousands of miles.

I went in Friday knowing that I wanted a Jeep, Kevin L. Showed me the 2018 Jeep Renegade and I loved it. He answered all of my questions and I picked up my first new car yesterday! I loved that he showed me both a brand new car and a used one and didn???t push me towards just buying! He even helped me set up my u-connect and made sure I knew how to use everything my new Jeep has! I couldn???t have asked for more honest and friendly experience! THANK YOU!
Practical smaller van after 15 years
by Dad from Minnesota
November 21, 2011

Fun to drive, car like handling, great flexible interior. We just love it, after 160000 on it it still runs well. It had some repairs, but amusingly it's original muffler is still there, the brakes were serviced only once. The least reliable side appeared to be electrical - rear view wiper, minor troubles with the door locks and front wipers. We did not have any major mechanical problems. I would estimate that all repairs costed me less than 3000 over the years. We consider a bench in a second row as an advantage we can not get from today's vans, as well as open-able rear view window - it helps a lot for hauling long things, like boards from Home Depot. Even in Minnesota we got just a few spots of rust after 15 years. If this van would be still on a market, we would buy it right away with no doubts at all. Unfortunately, they are mostly over-sized for us, or too small, like Mazda-5, and nothing in between. On a negative I would mention wind noise at higher speeds, so-so radio. It was purchased 2 years old having 18k on odometer for $17k -isn't that a value after all these years?

I actually own a '96 M.V.

I bought a 1996 Villager through a private party for 1 grand and I've only had to replace a tie rod and the battery. $200 put into it in one year. Not bad at all. My family loves this van and if I had the money I'd buy the van for sale for sure! The van I own has 127,500 miles on it and I bought it in April of 1013. The only complaint I would have is that it isn't exactly big enough in the back for larger/taller adults. If it is mainly used for your spouse and children This is a great buy!

Bought my Villager Estate new in '02- Last couple to choose from on the lots as they quit making them the month before. This has been a great van- Not too big, but still held a lot. Never had a problem with it. Minor maintenance but that's been it. I personally find it among the better looking mini-vans out there for the year. My only real complaint is the quad seats can be noisy when not in use (some ratteling). Also the third row seat does not come out- you can only fold it up and slide it forward when you need more cargo room. I've had numerous compliments and even a note left on the windshield asking us if we'd like to sell it...

Nice size and still a 'mini-van'
by Ole family guy from Northern Utah
August 24, 2007

I bought it used and have owned it for 3 years and driven it for about 35K (now has 75K). It is the 'Sport' model so it has the 2nd row bucket seats. Fairly reliable, but had to replace things as w/s, pwr window mech, ball jts, knock sensor, CV boots before expected. Got better MPG hwy than adv, but worse, esp around town. My wife leased one of the early Villagers we both loved so she leased another one ...both virtually trouble free. After she traded hers in, I purchased one because I liked the expanded room in the later re-design even thou it looks uglier. Some friends of mine own an early model with over 200K and love it. This one has been a disapointment from early models as the drivers door/window has an wind noise that cannot be resolved. The center captain chairs are so heavy, it almost requires a lift to extract them & 4 hands to clip them in. The sliding rear seat is a marvel to use and versatile and easy to move but it usually makes for car sickness on bouncy roads. Most driver controls are handy but I never have adapted to the washer lever being on the left side and the hi-lo beam switch is like shifting gears in a stick shift..crude. The cruise on hilly terrain is more than annoying because when it decides to downshift, it then shifts from O/D and into 2nd in 1 motion which make the engine race...(doesn't downshift like that when driving w/o cruise thou). The rear shelf is convient, but anything of much weight will bend it and make the sliding lock mechanism bind. The cup-holder adjust levers have very flimsy ratchets and break often. The van is lacking in places to put anything of any size & as in many mini-vans the 2nd row cannot roll down the windows...only open to vent which creates wind noise so I love the rear powered windows to allow air flow and no noise. Seats need a longer thigh support for my tastes. My big complaint which I didn't realize until I owned it, was the drivers side 2nd row seat doesn't adj fore-aft to allow access to the rear & the other side moves so little that its easier to get the occupant out & then manuver down the center opening to the rear seat. All in all, minor complaints for a van that does its job quite well and still drives much like a car. Its time for me to trade up thou....maybe a small crossover SUV.

Van was a little rough when I bought it. Had only 112K Engine light was on with a series of codes. The TPS sensor solved the transmission issue....it was not shifting into overdrive. Was running great for a thousand miles then turned into mush, driving down the interstate. Ordered a new distributor and hope that works as the MAF and MAP sensor didn't solve any problems. Hope it works because I thought this van was a diamond in the rough.

Great Van
by Mike from Petersburg, VA

Bought this used just over a year ago with 146,000 mi. it now has 192,000 mi.(yes I drive alot). The first problem that was obvious when I bought it was the thermostat was bad. Was a bit of a challenge to replace but do-able. I also drove from Virginia to North Dakota with no problems but with an already worn tire(rides great on spare). I did replace the A/C compressor due to the seal blowing out. A/C is very cold and the rear works great as well. Power door locks don't always work right(seen on other Fords from the '90's as well just flip the switch a few times to get all the doors to lock or unlock). A common problem I found is with the factory fuel pump( I researched), it loses pressure when engine is off. When you turn the key to run you here the pump at a higher pitch than normal until pressure is established, then you can start(only about a two second wait) otherwise at highway speeds on a hot day the engine will just stall(requiring a 15-25 min. wait to restart). It still runs as strong as it did when I bought it(strong).
