The gray front bumpers do not scratch easily and that is good especially for a young driver. Versatile, can tow well, good family car, good space, not too large but not small, quirky design, great on the highway, and can take it almost anywhere u want especially with a 4WD. I have a 2WD but I still take it anywhere down dirt roads and up mountain gravel roads. Such a unique vehicle and it’s tough as nails. It accelerates well especially for the time it was made. Nothing fancy but it’s purely durable inside and out. It is a SUV on a truck frame with a large V6 engine so all the people complaining about gas mileage are quite frankly ignorant because they must have expected something different.

I just purchased a new 2024 Outback at Walser. This is my third Subaru (great vehicles). I have been purchasing cars for 50 years now and this was the best sales experience that I have ever had at a car dealership. I love this truck looking for another one to buy I just changed for the first 190,000 miles my first shocks all around . Every 5 yrs I spend 3,000.00 dollars that includes 4 tires ,ceramic breaks and rotors all around . 1 battery and the usual oil change every 10,000 miles my truck is 16 yrs old it has never broken down on me on the side of the road until last week I was in nys and my radiator blew I thought the it was a hose but it was the radiator. I had it towed home back to nj . At that point, i decided to go all out and change everything that I thought needed to be done. i spare no cost I changed all this valve covers , valve cover gaskets ,radiator both hoses ,serpentine belt,the intake manifold set a new battery,new radiator cap,oil change ,left front break line , the J pipe , one muffler,the tail pipe ,all new clamps and the tow truck towing cost all total cost me $3,524.41 all I needed was a radiator and the j pipe but sence I had it in the repair shop I wanted all this other work done. I just got new shocks on the car this is funny the guy asked me when was the last time you changed your shocks I said I never did why he said look at them they were rusted away the whole rear shocks we rotted away I couldn't believe it how bad they were it took him 4 hrs to get all for shocks off I never saw shocks that had only a quarter metal left on it and the best is I never felt anything wrong with the shocks I just wanted to change them . I honestly love this truck to bad they don't make this truck anymore . People complain about the gas milage funny I did also but my mechanic.told me yes it sucks on gas but after a year the gas milage will get better he was right . I have a.led foot I fly in this truck every two weeks I fill my truck today prices 68.00 no big deal I am very picky with my cars I will find my next xterra that is used and I will buy it again .I got this one Brand new . I know all the things that need to be replaced before I start driving the next one . Best truck I ever had if you take car of it trust me it will.last you for ever my mechanic drove it and couldn't believe the power this truck has he told me you just might get 500,000 miles on this if you keep it up what ever your doing . Everything else on this truck is all original everything I told you I replaced is it . The only thing that I don't like about this truck is the drives bottom seat is ripping ,I will go to the dealer to have a new bottom seat replaced

I walked in without an appointment on a Sunday afternoon, really just starting to look. Rhonda, my salesperson, was excellent. She listened to what I was looking for, and we went out to the lot. First thing was to make sure my oars fit, and once that was done a test ride. We looked at various models of the same car, and she was VERY clear on what the packages were, whether I?d want them, etc. She got a sale. In and out in under two hours, including time to detail the car. What?s more, they returned my rental car for me, cleaned it first, all done.

Paint on the 2014 Nissan XTERRA is horrible... The paint from the vehicle started to chip near the front windshield and gotten worse over the years....

First off, the features which I think could use improvement include: 1) The front seats are rather hard and get somewhat uncomfortable after 100-150 miles. They are fine for short trips, but when taking the car on a long voyage, be prepared to stop every couple of hours. 2) The visibility could be better. The pillars behind both sets of doors are quite wide which gives less visibility when looking out of the vehicle. This is also true for the rear corners. 3) Getting in and out of the rear seat is somewhat awkward for adults. This can be made a little better with running boards or similar outside "steps". Other than these rather minor flaws, this is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Reliability is awesome. Acceleration is more than adequate. It will cruise at 90 mph all day long without breaking a sweat. It does an excellent job of towing; I pulled a 32' Airstream behind mine with no problems. It does ride more like a truck than a passenger car, but thats because it really is a truck. mine has 225k on it, and the only parts I have had to replace were all 4 shocks, but I live down an extremely bumpy dirt road, so that was expected. The 4 wheel drive is very good; I've had mine in both mud and sand and have yet to get it stuck. Plus, it has plenty enough torque to pull out others who did get stuck. Overall, I would say that this is a xxxx fine vehicle.

This is the 2nd XTERA I have owned I wish Nissian still made them. This is by far the best 4wheel drive vehicle in the snow. I have driven thru snow up to the bottom of the doors and handles great all year round

It is a reliable vehicle I use for my field trips as a Scientific Researcher in the University. Performance and Reliability are the Hallmarks. It takes you there and Back with no worries of being left midstream.

Third Off-Road or Pro4X Xterra, '07, '11, and '14, all now-impossible-to-find 6 sp manuals. When discontinued, tried to get '15 but could not find manual. May be only US model with the Canadian-mandatory plug-in engine-block heater installed, fine for upstate NY winters. Outstanding off- and dirt roads, and 4Low w. locking rear diff. Will never sell and will never be stolen as majority can't drive the stick...Only quarrel is am starting to see rust starting around the rear license-plate lights-will have to keep after that. Easy oil change and filter with access plate in skid plate, of which there are 4 on P4X. Find one with acceptable mileage - buy it!

Great vehicle got pro 4x with all the bells and whistles. Gas is cheaper in Texas which really helps, no complains here. The dogs like it very much, lts a keeper. wanted one since forever, last one I am buying.

I purchased this Nissan Xterra August 2007. I have driven this car up mountains and for long hauls. Great vehicle. In fact my son has been driving it now for the past 4 years and it made it through his med school and residency, now has over 300 miles and still truckin. I wish they still made this vehicle as I would love to buy another one brand new. I love the room it has and you sit up high so you feel secure. One time a old man ran into me and the back bumper didn't even budge & the olf man's small Ford truck's front end was smashed in. Very safe vehicle to be in. I would advise they made some more.

This vehicle meets all my needs. I had a truck for 19 years and bought this one with only 7300 miles on it in 2015. Meets my purpose hauling my dog, groceries, home repairs, trips, tv's, etc. I'm a single senior female that does a lot of home repairs and it hauls everything I've put in it including a 70"TV. I have all oil changes made every 6 months and today 12-2020 only has 25,000 miles on it. Replaced 2 tires due to nails but it drives beautifully. Added outside black vinyl strips and black window guards and whitewall tires all for looks. Love the power getting on and off freeways. Always had a standard transmission before but do love the automatic transmission on this one. Seats could have been more comfortable, but at my 5'9" frame, they will do. Not looking for frills, just regular car use for a senior that goes only to Bingo and shopping. Love it.

I got mine used in 2012 with about 45k on it. Last year I crossed 100k miles. A few months after I got it, a cab rear-ended me in downtown Nashville; I needed a new bumper, but he needed a new cab. More recently, I was driving down a highway in IL when some deer ran across the road. I had nowhere to go, so I slowed down, but I couldn't avoid the last one. The front end took some damage; I drove it for a week before I could get it to the shop. $3500 dollars later, it's back to a more normal appearance (insurance covered most of it). So, from a safety standpoint, I feel pretty good about this vehicle. I have had a couple of minor issues -- the tire sensor went out a long time ago. The fuel gauge works intermittently, so I have to watch the trip meter. And there is some problem with a battery cable -- somewhere; if the battery holder is loose, the battery doesn't charge. But I pushed the battery back, tightened the clamp, and I haven't had any more problems -- but I am still wondering what happened. It's the only reason I consider buying another car (I don't like getting stranded for any reason).

I came to Carmax looking for to test drive a Nissan Leaf I saw on cars.com. Actually, I tried another dealership first for the same type of car, but that dealer was closed on Sunday. CarMax is open seven days a week. That’s a plus if you, like me, have weekends off. I was able to get my credit pre-approved in just minutes. It turned out the Leaf wasn’t the car for me, but it’s neighbor, a Mercedes B Class was my glass slipper. Once I had decided which car I was buying, the process was really quick and easy. The representative asked a lot of probing questions to help confirm that I had researched the car I was buying (an all electric vehicle), which made me feel like he cared that I got the right car for me. It was a good experience and I’m very happy with my car.

Not sure why they quit making Xterras. Just bought a 2014 with 63,000 miles on it. We LOVE this car. Comfy but definitely feels like the truck we wanted. Leather seats, lots of power, ample space and good looks. I would define this car as a cast iron pan on wheels. Gets the job done, holds up, and feels great to boot. I hope to be driving this car ten years from now!

My 15 pro4x is my second Xterra. I bought a 2004 XE new and drove it for 194,000 miles and 14 years. Best vehicle I ever owned. When it became time to move on in 2017 I bought a 2 years old Pro 4X. Both of my Xs had manual transmissions/ I have had my pro 4 x for 5 years and like the power, room, handling. and rear locker. Great truck. It is a shame they do not make them anymore.

I love this vehicle, its reliable and rugged looking. It handles nicely and don't have to worry about the winter with the 4WD. the ONLY thing about buying used is that it doesn't have the updated features.
