These cars are very unique and getting more rare. Fun to drive especially the manual trans. Be sure to get a PPI if you are looking to buy. Good service and upkeep is a must and will cost $1500. -2000 per year. Higher in years when you have timing belt, tires , brakes , etc. Parts are pricey and you need a shop that has experience with this era of Porsche. But definitely worth it!

The 968 model has always been in short supply and it has proven to be a very capable performer against cars considerably newer and costing a while lot more. My 1994 Coupe is a low mileage example that has been well maintained and provides exceptional performance and handling and is always the center of attention at local PCA meetings.

The 968 is an excellent example of Porsche's front-end engine design. It dates back to the older 924 and 944 lines with the 968 being the most desirable. They benefit from parts sharing with the 944 turbo, 928, and 993 911 line. They are often referred to as being Toyota like in their reliability and carry one of the lowest operating costs of any Porsche model. Great value for the money; having the highest naturally aspirated HP per liter of displacement for 8 years from '92 when it was launched until '00 when the Honda s2000 was released. Also very practical as a daily driver especially in coupe form. These are among the rarest of any production Porsche to date.

I own a 1983 944 with 235,000 miles, a 1986 951 with 36,000 miles and a 1995 968 cab, auto with 25,000 miles. Plus I've owned more than I can list. This car is the best of the best. Sure you have to take care of them, but they are worth it. I do all my own work on them, once you get to know them you'll discover the worlds best engineering. Plus all my cars continue to go up in value each year.

I'm One of 616 proud 1994 coupe owners of this rare steed according to PCNA sales data sheet. I just recently purchased this fine 968 example from Cars.com as of December 3, 2011. This Porsche was built directly from the Zuffenhausen assembly factory. The 968 also represented the best and latest automotive racing technology for its time. In fact, it was ahead of it's time with VarioCam aka VVTS which is now a common technology. Overall, this car is a pure sports car built to drive fast and durable high performance driving at its best. The 968 is the true culmination of Porsche's 944 legacy. I've owned my 968 for eight years and have driven it daily with no regrets. Make no mistake about it, it's a sports car that gives highest priority to performance so it's not especially quiet, cushy riding or full of cup holders. And I wouldn't have it any other way. This car will reward the avid driver with outstanding handling (>.9 g), acceleration (0-60 in 5.9 seconds), speed (156 mph) and efficiency (27 mpg freeway). When the car was new, price was the biggest disadvantage. As a used car, it's a bargain. Despite what other reviewers have said, I find the interior quite roomy (I'm 6"2') and with the rear seats folded down, I have 18 cubic feet of storage space. The car has a split personality. You can tool around in it at low revs and it really doesn't feel that powerful. Rev the engine a little so the variocam kicks it and you'll hear a slight howl sound as the car smoothly quickens its pace. It's a hoot and no turbos are used. It's been cheaper to maintain than my Ford van so I plan on keeping it until I wear it out. If you drive an SUV and think it drives like a sports car, do yourself a favor and drive a real sports car once in your life. It will change your perspective and put a smile on your face.

professional..however a lot of the cars they are selling don't run or need extensive work..it makes me feel the ads are a bit deceptive..not disclosing that info upfront..I wouldn't have wasted my time pursuing these vehicles
