This is my third Subaru Forrester. I like the newer safety features and ease of handling. The size is perfect for me, not too small or too big! I would recommend if you’re looking for a midsize vehicle.

It was a much-needed surprise for my wife, whose car was recently totaled. She's always dreamed of a Subaru, and this past Sunday, Don made that dream a reality, exceeding all expectations. Our journey was initially frustrating. Our first attempt at Albany Subaru ended with an inexplicable $15,000 price hike upon arrival. They made us feel like we were wasting their time for not paying this huge markup. That, plus a Napa dealer selling a car from under us after starting paperwork, left us wary of dealership games. As a former car salesman, I know these tactics and just wanted an honest, respectful experience. Finding the new Forester Hybrid in my wife's preferred River Rock Pearl was incredibly difficult due to high demand. We'd almost resigned ourselves to a gas version, placing a deposit on an incoming silver model at Fairfield Subaru with Don. From our first interaction, Don was a pleasure – experienced, knowledgeable, and not pushy. I immediately felt I could trust him. Weeks later, I told Don my wife truly desired the River Rock Pearl. Don immediately found that exact Hybrid Touring incoming, unlisted online! We eagerly switched our deposit. Crucially, Don cleared it with his manager first, given the car's high demand. Given our past negative experiences, we were anxious the car might be sold, as our "reserve" was verbal. I also couldn't get from Santa Rosa to Fairfield that Sunday. Don then went truly above and beyond. He spent Saturday helping me with remote paperwork. Then, to ensure I could retrieve the car and surprise my wife, Don offered to drive an hour to Santa Rosa to pick me up! I was floored and initially declined, not wanting to impose. He then immediately offered an Uber or Lyft. This dedication is almost unheard of. Thanks to Don, when I arrived at Fairfield Subaru this past Sunday, the numbers were exactly as promised. I paid, and in under 30 minutes, was driving away. My wife's airport surprise was a success – she was overjoyed! Don even followed up the next day to ensure everything was satisfactory, testifying to his unwavering commitment. Don understood our needs and explained market realities, navigating everything perfectly with mutual respect. After bait-and-switch tactics elsewhere and a friend's harassment at Santa Rosa Subaru, Don was a complete breath of fresh air. He is a true diamond in the rough. I’ve owned this car for about 18 months. It has I bought it new and it now has about 17,000 miles on it. I love driving it. The safety features are excellent! The performance is good. I’m getting around 32 MPG for all around driving. I have the car maintained at the dealership and haven’t had any mechanical issues. I would definitely recommend this car.

I purchased the 2023 Wilderness trim in August and I chose it because I live in a very snowy and mountainous area. I certainly needed an upgrade from my trusty 2wd, low-clearance hatchback. I can watch the season change with more peace of mind with its high clearance, AWD and features like Starlink and X-mode ready to step in when called upon. I’m a huge fan of the vehicle’s exterior styling and the interior feels luxurious and durable. The cabin is well-insulated from engine and road noise. One drawback is that the sound system lacks depth even with the base turned all the way up (I don’t have the Harmon Kardon stereo option). I’ve never owned a car with a sunroof before and I love letting in extra daylight and looking up at the cliffs and trees during stops so I can’t imagine life without it, now. Even the low beam headlights provide clear-as-day visibility on the darkest nights, but I’d be worried about blinding other drivers so I’d give more follow distance. Many reviewers seem dissatisfied with its acceleration, but it hasn’t felt underpowered to me and I drive a Chevy Suburban for work. It feels like I’m barely touching the accelerator to cruise up steep grades, but I’m a leisurely driver so my expectations differ. :)

I went in with a 2013 Scion FRS and went home with a blue Crosstrek Wilderness. It took like 3 hours for the hole deal but love it.

Next to top rating in Consumer Reports. Lives up to its rating 100%. Only concerns thus far, after three weeks of use. 1) takes time to learn use of various electrical and mechanical controls -- after 20+plus years of VW Jetta ownership, "a lot is different." Just have to be patient learning all the new features. 2) Auto-safety features (staying in lanes, braking distance warning, etc.) are helpful to some less-attentive drivers but annoying to this long-experienced user. Fortunately, they can be turned off and stop the chirping.

My only complaints are, it could use a little more power and a little less road noise. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with my Subaru Forester Touring.

I bought my 2025 Subaru Forester the middle of August and two weeks later took it on a 1500 mile road trip. My only complaints are the funky steering (extremely sensitive) and the 11.6" Infotainment screen occasionally freezing. That's not a good thing when driving in traffic. I wished it was AWD versus continuous four wheel drive. Overall, I do like the Forester better than the CR-V I had before.
