Used Toyota RAV4 for sale near North Laurel, MD under $15,000

Love everything about my rav with the exception of steel wheels, plain drab interior and no electric or heated seats! Mileage could be better as well!

Was looking for a hard to find mid size pickup with manual transmission and found one here at a good price. Kevin was very good to deal with and made the buying process very pleasant. No pressure. Was surprised a 30 day warranty was included since most dealers of this type mostly sell “as is”. Drove truck 150 miles home and for several weeks with no issues. Dealer fee is very reasonable and Kevin actually knocked the price down to where the fee was basically waived. I was impressed with their inventory - they appeared to have only quality used vehicles.

It’s a tank. So far V6 has been solid no issues with oil burn. Have been doing regular oil changes. Just recently replaced both front control arms due to worn out bushings. No other issues car has 160 K.

I purchased a Honda from this dealership in October. Based on my experience with 1st Choice Auto, I'd rate their communication 5/5 and the condition of the vehicle that I purchased from them 3.5/5, for a total of 4/5 stars. The pros: they answer calls promptly and courteously. They work with out-of-state buyers (i.e., I was permitted to send a mobile mechanic to check out the vehicle for a pre-purchase inspection, and I was allowed to put down a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve the vehicle). They provided an itemized list and total of all costs over the phone and by email, and offered to handle the DMV/MVA paperwork for me. The mechanic noted that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and the dealership took care of that for me at my request. The cons: their listings claim that, "All safety recalls performed prior to vehicle pickup." That was not, in fact, the case with my vehicle. I arrived at the dealership more than three business days after placing my deposit. They offered to take it to a Honda dealership for me to get the recall resolved, but it was too late and inconvenient at that stage to do so (an acquaintance drove me a bit under 2 hours to reach the dealership as I did not have my own car, and I didn't want to impose on them any further by returning at a later date). Furthermore, while the car did pass both Virginia's state inspection and my home state's inspection, I ended up paying an additional $600+ for repairs. My advice is to mentally tack on an additional 10% to 15% to the total purchase price to land at a realistic amount you'll end up paying, and don't expect the vehicle to be 100% as you drive off the lot with it. If you find yourself considering a vehicle at the upper end of your budget, be sure to inspect the vehicle first and revise your offer accordingly.

My only issue is it uses a lot of oil they had a 2008 recall on oil consumption they did not do anything for the 2009 with the same. Uses a quart every 500 miles. Bad lower rings, Toyota knew that in 08.

Bought used in 2018. Car has been incredibly reliable. Besides one brake job, one set of tires, and one battery I have not done anything except oil changes. Not even a taillight.

Very reliable have had for 6 years offroad and normal dailydriver no broblems can pull all trailers good in snow forest asphalt but makes a oot of sound decent sound system

A lot of the other reviews go over build quality, features, comfort, etc.. Briefly I will say after being in this car for almost 9 years: the car (especially the XLE/sport model) is on the stiffer side and can be harsh. The upside is that it feels incredibly planted and there is minimal body roll. It is easy fun to take on windy roads with the "Sport" setting, which further tightens the ride. Road noise is not the best. Wind and tire noise is om the louder side. Materials are nothing super premium in the XLE, but the interior is built like a tank and has held up well. No electrical issues. The engine and transmission are fantastic. The small 4 cylinder makes the car sporty with 187 HP and it is also silent. It has a pleasant sound when accelarating and you hardly hear it. The transmission is a 6 speed, but is overall good. Smooth shifting in both sport and city driving. Reliability-wise this car has been absolutely fantastic. The car has been lazily maintained and is currently at 220,000 miles. It still drives and shifts very smoothly. This car is a sportier crossover. It is a good choice for somebody who wants more sport compared to say a CRV. It is and has been proven to be reliable though.

My 2007 RAV4 V6 just died of overheating and a warped block at 420,000 miles. I'm sick over it. One of the best cars I've ever owned.

One of the best vehicles I have ever owned; I do t drive much annually so the wear and tear is limited and low; if I do buy another vehicle in my life time it will be a Toyota.

I love my 2013 RAV4. It runs great. I haven’t had any problems with it. The key is to always keep up the maintenance Toyota makes the best cars.

I had a 2012 Rav 4 and a man ran a red light and ran over me and the Rav had to be junked. I got my second 2012 Rav 4 and both were and are wonderful cars. Would highly reccommend.

I bought my 2011 in 2013. Just turned over 226,000 miles as a Travel Nurse. This the best vehicle I have ever owned. Just purchased a second 2011 with low miles. Keep up the regular maintenance and it will purr.

I've owned dozens and dozens of car and this one has impressed me the most. Tons of power from the V6, typical Toyota reliability, very ergonomic, and very capable. I've hauled weight in this thing that would rival any truck and pulled a trailer that was double it's load rating. Bought this car new in June 2009. Drove it daily for 10 years before giving it to my 16 year old son. It currently has 287,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Other than a transmission rebuild at 248,000 miles it has been essentially trouble free. I performed the typical routine maintenance: 5,000 mile oil changes, 100,000 transmission fluid changes, 100,000 coolant changes, brake service as needed, etc. At 225,000 it started to use a quart of oil between oil changes which I don't see as unreasonable for a 4 cylinder at that milage. It is a 4WD model but in all honesty I rarely needed to use 4WD to get through the snow. Front wheel only more than sufficed. I would recommend this vehicle as a used car if you find one that has been reasonably well maintained.

This is my second Outback purchased at FitzMall, last one in 2011. Turned in the older one with 135K and bought a beautiful 2019 with only 16K. Appreciate the "no hassle, no haggle" pricing and the "no pressure," service of Darrin and Scott. Manny, who handled financing was also terrific. On March 12 2022 as I was heading home I was hit in the middle of an intersection by a truck going through a red light. Once I realized I was all right and that no other people were injured in any other vehicles I immediately felt so sad for my car I've never been attached to any vehicle I always thought that was kind of strange but I get it now! It was reliable fuel efficient. I don't know how I'm going to replace it

The first-gen RAV4 is such an amazing car all-around. I've got a 2000, white, cosmetically modified. It's very sluggish, but it's not meant to be quick. If you want a quick first-gen, swap a 3S-GTE in, easy. The 3S-FE that came with these things was bulletproof. Only had to change the water pump and a few metal & rubber odds and ends so far due to my specific car sitting and aging from the previous owners. AMAZING car.
