This Beetle was my car that I traded in recently for a new Tiguan. The car was excellent, and always reliable. We wanted to own one of the last Beetles made, and glad that we purchased it from Mt. GTI's do almost everything well. Economy, performance, flexibility, holds value, road car, back roads car, safety, comfort, feature-laden and now almost $10K less than the price of the average new vehicle. Two minor flaws IMO. All GTI's should have Golf R climate controls. Standard controls too confusing and fussy. Rather set it and forgot it. DSG is "still funky after all these years." Don't get me wrong, the lightning quick shifts and in-traffic ease are compelling, but DSGs can be clunky and feel strange at low speed and can't yet read all of your intentions correctly, thus some odd decisions/shifts on occasion. Not a fault, just a thing. Otherwise brilliant. GTI is among the contenders for "best" mass-produced combustion engine car of all time. Yes, that good. If shopping the used market, I would strongly suggest one try to get a Performance Package car. Much better brakes that won't need brake service as often and stop better. Also, the electronically controlled differential aids both traction and handling.

Volkswagen did a great job refining the MK8 GTI. Key points -One of the best handling FWD cars mainly due to the LSD, XDS and suspension refinement. -Very smooth power deliver almost 0 turbo lag. - 40th anniversary has to be the best value purchase as it comes standard with DCC and IQ lightings which are only available on the highest trim. The negatives include: -The infotainment can be improved wireless android and apple car play need to be standard. Can't set your phone properly on the wireless charger when the phone is attached to the wire. - Compared to the MK7 the coin holder and the sliding storage below the driver sear is missing. -Unable to disable auto start and stop feature permanently as restores to default on every time you start the vehicle.

Anthony and Gary were a life saver! They got me in sooner than later because I was over due on my oil change. Their new service department and lounge was very nice and made me feel at home. Will be back in 3 months for another oil change!

Let down by quality issues unknown to Japanese vehicles and ridiculous service and repair costs. I love the car but dread any encounter with the dealer in North Tampa.. I think their service charges are equal to BMW and Mercedes.

Solid for a convertible. Goes surprisingly well in the snow and with the seats down can haul stuff. I have this as my only car and it is actually very practical. Plus, it’s just a joy to drive.

I bought my golf new at the end of 2016 and would have kept it much longer if it had not been totaled in an accident. The few little issues I had were covered under the initial warranty (coolant leak, trunk leak). Nothing else other than normal maintenance things like brakes and tires up to 81,000 - that's as far as I can speak to. I took good care of it, did the VW service things for the most part and I have no doubt it would have lasted to 200K or beyond. It looked cool and was fun to drive. I had the S manual. I enjoy driving and had a tiny regret about not getting the Wolfsburg edition (faster engine, slightly better options like heated seats and sun/moon roof).

The New Beetle is surprisingly quick for a small 5 cylinder car. The AC is very cold, and it has all the features one would want. It handles easily and is fun to drive. The 5 speed standard adds a lot of pizzazz to it. And it is so cute!

This car has been a dream of mine ever since i sat in the mk7. The only problems i have against all mk7 golf's are. 1. If the have an automatic tranny in them, they dont perform as well as a manual. 2. They are kinda lose around tight turns and if you have the lane assist package you will be fighting the wheel to keep the line. Other than those 2 slight issues, i find this car a fun, efficient, reliable, and overall great vehichle to buy. But like me, get a manual transmission... best car to learn and the only way to have em built.

Dealership is smaller and the feel and service are much better than the mega dealers who have higher prices and an overwhelming atmosphere. They are knowledgable and helpful and I would recommend.

I've owned Golfs for 7 years and absolutely love them. They are the perfect car. Fun to drive, just enough room for 4 people, great on gas, and with the rear seats folded down, there's an enormous amount of cargo space. The interior feels upscale with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and soft metallic accents, the leatherette seats are easy to clean and feel great (SO much better than fabric!) and the sound system is on point. Also love the heated seats and the sunroof with the option to crack open or fully open!!

Thoroughly reliable diesel automobile. Steady fwy driving will get you 45 mpg. Nice not to have to change spark plugs. Likely not a great choice in subzero weather.
