Honestly would not recommend buying this car.
Honestly would not recommend buying this car. I bought it at 90k miles, just something to get me around town and didn’t drive it much. But it’s one thing after another with this vehicle… costly repairs even after staying consistent with oil changes (chugs oil like crazy). Fast forward to present, it has 118,000 miles on it and the engine is completely done for!!! I haven’t even had this car for two years. I will be selling it for what it’s worth (probably not much) and getting myself a reliable Toyota. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAR! - Purchased a Used car

I’ll never buy this car again I’ve had nothing but
I’ll never buy this car again I’ve had nothing but problems on top of problems with this vehicle since I’ve had it. The first time the motor went out only having it a year and didn’t know it had a life time recall on it also me and my daughter was almost kill the day that this vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway with a big ridge behind us jus so happened no vehicle was on the side of us or we would have been killed instantly and I had call and told them that the car wasn’t pulling right and didn’t have any pull with it and they told me to keep driving it until it break because Hyundai wasn’t going fix the recall until it come to a complete stop… I’ll never in my life get another one….. - Purchased a Used car

Beware.
Beware. Second owner is not covered under warranty. Engine leaked oil mysteriously, took it in and had valve seal leak repair, hyundai dealer in New Bern, Nc gave me a xx line about " hyundais specs call for adding a quart of oil every 1000 miles" Did all the oil changes myself and it literally drinks oil. If you change the oil at 3000 miles you will have to add 2 quarts in between every oil change. Predictably this causes more problems and it crapped out on my daughter twice with no warning, once in the mountains when it suddenly had no power to climb a hill above 30 mph, and then with the oil issue fouling up the fuel injection system stranding her. Cv boots have gone out twice, the entire thing appears to be made as cheap as possible. Skip the hyundai and buy a toyota if you are looking for a reliable and economical car. - Does not recommend

Great until the warranty is done
Great car until it’s not. I bought my car certified used at about 24000 miles. So I still had a 100k warranty. Not many issues other than recalls until 120000 miles. My engine blew in the middle of nowhere and without warning. I change my oil regularly and do scheduled maintenance. I was able to tow it to a Hyundai dealership and I was lucky enough for them to pay for a new engine because there is an issue with this year and they pushed the warranty to 120000k. However, it hasn’t even been a year since the new engine and I’ve already replaced my CV Joint, had multiple fluid leaks and the car just doesn’t run the same. I’m scheduled to get my car looked at again because they keep “repairing” the transmission leak but it still is leaking and the coolant is burning quickly without an outside visible leak. The car was paid off but now I’ve dumped about 4k into it with all the repairs. I can’t really afford a new car, so I hope that this will be the last fix for a while. However, it’s starting to look like it would be cheaper to just making payments on a new car. - Purchased a Used car

Warranty doesn't help a second owner. Buyer beware
My 2015 Sonata threw a rod. Oil changes always as scheduled . No warning lights regarding low oil or overheating. 89,000 miles. Total loss. Because I'm the second owner, that wonderful 10 year/10,000 mile warranty will not be honored. I give Hyundai an F-. - Purchased a Used car

Good Car Until it's Not
This was a car that was in the shop a lot at first getting warranty work done and after three years of ownership it seemed to get better. We were aware of the GDI carbon build up problem on the valves and took preventative measures as well as having to add a quart of oil every three to four fill ups. Finally, on a road trip my wife was taking, the car without warning suddenly flashed the check engine light and went dead. After towing it 100+ miles to our local garage, it was diagnosed as having a 1632 code that meant it needed a new engine and/or electrical engine harness. The mechanic priced out both options and frankly told us to dump the car. We did just that, towed it to the dealership we were purchasing a Camry from and received $500 for our trade. This car was lightly driven and had only 78,000 miles on it. It was an expensive lesson on Hyundai quality, but one that will not be forgotten. - Purchased a Used car

Gary Rome Hyundai, never said hx of paint peeling
We have a 2015 Hynadai Sonata. 2021 we brought it to our dealership because the roof started peeling. It is pearl white and as on day we noticed peeling on the passenger side roof where the window and the roof meet. Dealer wanted to charge us 850.00. We refused so when we had an oil change (free and to more on the key ring )when we picked it up the other free cards were gone. The told us they no longer doing the “freebe oil changes) they were charging us for the paint even with our extended warranty-Paint still peeling - Purchased a Used car

Nice mid-size car
We have the Sport Limited Turbo 2.0 in white. Power is good. But, sometimes it seems like the turbo isn't boosting as you're getting on the throttle. Stock tires are noisy, so we put some quiet Michelins on and it helps a lot. Interior-wise, the Nav panel and controls is really something to be desired. It just plains stinks. I'd love to have the newer radio/Nav display that the KIA's have. Trunk is very spacious and leather seats are comfortable. Overall, it's great for long trips (33 mpg on the interstate driving 77mph) and it's a nice looking car. Not as cool as our son's 2022 KIA K5 GT-line, though! - Purchased a New car
