This year, 2025, I planned to trade up to a 2022 Avalon
This year, 2025, I planned to trade up to a 2022 Avalon Limited from my beloved but older 2011 Avalon Limited. We drove 2-1/2 hours to a dealership where I saw the 2022 and realized before I tried to get into it that it would be a challenge to enter and exit (I am only 5 feet tall and have back twisting issues). As expected, it was very difficult to enter (and exit) and sit in the driver's seat, I felt very squished in the seat and elbow/foot space, the ceiling was too low, etc. I drove the car and disliked its ride comfort, loudness, poor shifting, general shoddy interior. Toyota will lose many older, loyal customers who need a larger, easier to enter and exit vehicle, and who use it as a touring vehicle. Please, Toyota, help us out! I am extremely annoyed that I am unable to find any comfortable cars, large enough to enjoy spending long periods in, with great features, a comfortable ride, and easy entrance/egress. Why does every car today seem to require a high leg lift, hold and move entering leg horizontally for 6 to 8 more inches to place foot down another 4 inches or so onto the floor? Why is that chassis horizontal frame so high and why do seats sit in a well? I'm very unhappy with the shift to cater to "sleek" styles. Give me practical AND pretty and comfortable, please. I'll drive my 2011 into the ground for a few more years (currently at 180,000 miles) and while I pray for automakers to rethink their specifications. Do you want our $$$ or not? Milage drop
Great car but my 2019 Toyota Avalon Hybrid Limited got 42.4 mpg when new but only gets 35 mpg now. I'm 75 y/o and drive the speed limit always. Average 35 to 40 miles per hour. Does anyone know why. Dealer is no help answering this question. - Purchased a New car

Really Sad the Avalon line up was discontinued
This the 2nd avalon limited I have owned and I bought both "newly" used because of the low Miles and cost advantages. I have absolutely loved my 2019 Avalon Limited, it gets great gas mileage for a big roomy and comfortable vehicle, and came equipped with a lot of bells and whistles normally found on premium luxury cars. In my opinion, this car is by far a better "Value" than the Lexus ES models, yes, you can get the same features on the Lexus as you will find on the upper-end Avalons, but it gonna cost you a lot more. In making a decision to discontinue the Avalon line, Toyota has made a conscious decision to force those of us who love the Avalon to look at the Lexus ES 350 line in the future. So, it's gonna cost me more in the future to maintain the comfort level found on the Avalon. But, remember, Toyota owns both Lexus and Toyota. - Purchased a Used car

One of the best mid-size sedan around
I own a loaded 2019 touring that was purchased new from a dealership, here are some of my thought after nearly three years of ownership. The Avalon is exceptionally comfortable; A notable example is the seats which are wonderful supportive, and well bolstered. Design-wise the Avalon is modern and interesting from (almost) every angle, inside and out. The Avalon’s interior is well-designed with soft touch materials on all surfaces you’ll regularly touch. Upscale materials like aluminum mesh span the dash while perforated fabric and plush leatherette line everywhere else. The center console stack is ergonomic with physical buttons for everything: Excessive piano black plastic here is my only minor gripe. On the exterior, Avalon’s headlights are aggressively sculpted with daytime running lights that are distinctive. A futuristic, swoopy taillight features a lightbar-esk design that’s unlike anything else around. To address the massive, grill shaped, elephant in the room… The sophisticated exterior design of the car is marred by the immoderately large grill. Genuinely, my only issue with the car’s design anywhere is the grill: It’s frustrating that the grill is the ONLY, albeit massive, issue. The black mesh on touring trims is somewhat better looking as compared with the limited trim but it still shows it’s size from front views. Now moving on to thoughts on performance. I’ll be blunt, the Avalon is not sporty by any measure other than it’s looks; however, is speed what you really need? I personally brought the Avalon to have a comfortable, quiet, and reliable commuter car: this car is just that. I think that middling performance is an acceptable trade off for a creamy-smooth v6 engine that’s not needlessly loud anywhere along the rev range, and that is proven to outlast nearly everything else on the road. When it comes to value, it’s a tough sell for the higher trims (limited and touring). If you want a sporty large sedan, the charger or accord sport turbo is a better sports car; If you want a reliable and luxurious large sedan then the lexus es carries the lexus name for only a couple thousand more. I think the Avalon fills a niche for people who want more space, luxury, and style than something like the Camry, and don’t want to spend luxury car money on a well-equipped lexus es. Final thoughts: The Avalon is definitely not for everyone with it’s *ahem* “distinctive” styling but Avalon is the perfect balance of everything important to me in a car: Reliability, comfort, modern styling. If I total my car tomorrow, I’d probably buy another Avalon; though probably the xle trim the next time around. - Purchased a New car

Faulty paint
Great pep but paint job is awful. Spots cannot be removed. Been back to the dealer to no avail. Acceleration is hesitant, dealer cannot correct. Rain water fills up inside back doors and has blown out JBL speakers . - Purchased a New car

No new models after 2022!
Have owned three Avalons . Wonderful vehicles! The current is a 2019 XLE. Comfortable, quiet and powerful. Difficult to enter, a too low clearance. Short and slim designers? Disappointed that the 2022 will be the last model year. Dumb move! A substitute replacement? - Purchased a New car

Very nice car, well maintained
I was planning on buying a new one but because of the chip shortage the dealers could not find what I wanted. I found this vehicle at BMW and it was exactly what I was planning on buying new. I just got it but I am very pleased with the purchase. - Purchased a Used car

Quiet, smart & soon will drive itself I HOPE!
The car is a dream. Consumer Reports reports that it's ride is 'serene.' I attest to that every day I drive it. Cool features, powerful, fast, aerated seats got me, heated and air-conditioned seats are nice in the summer and winter. Still has the new car smell over a year later. The smart navigation saves me time in traffic. It's great all around. - Purchased a New car
