Fun to drive affordable sports car
I love Nissan vehicles and the Z-car which is a sports car is so fun to drive and has easy handling and hugs the road very well. I have enjoyed this car but as I am getting older I have a difficult time getting in and out of it.

1988 Nissan 300ZX TURBO driven 200,000 miles
I bought this car new and drove it very hard. It was if it was built tight and lasted that way for just over 200,000 miles. Because of the high performance tires (Yokohama AVS), replacement rubber was expensive. Suspension components held up very well over time and there were engine problems. Horsepower for '88 increased to 205 at the rear wheels. Drivers should be warned that before taking the car hard around corners that it initially understeers and then can oversteer when lifting the throttle. Learn the driving characteristics before going crazy. The car has about every option you could hope for in a model from this era. There is a 3 way adjustable switch in the cockpit to adjust the suspension (SOFT, NORMAL and FIRM). There is virtually no turbo lag and torque peaks under 2000 RPM. Body panel tolerance is fantastic. No electrical problems at all. T Roofs never leaked. My car had the analog gauges. I've heard the digital dash option has a tendency to malfunction. Turbo models have a limited slip diff that helps a great deal. Breaking performance is superb. I was disappointed with the factory sound system. As this car is rear wheel drive, caution must be taken in snow belt locations when the roads are in poor condition. Also, Turbo main bearing is oil cooled, so letting the car idle for a minute before shutting off the engine is a must. There is a lot of storage space in the two seater and secret cubbys abound to hide valuables. The seats can be adjusted to suit anyone and I give them the highest rating. I sold the car to a friend who loved this car as much as I did. A Gem.
