Makes & Models is excited to present this 1993 Land Rover Defender 127, originally built by Associated Automotive Distributors in South Africa and extensively upgraded by Gateway Offroad Centre before its arrival in the United States in late 2024. Now titled in Utah, this Defender has been converted to left-hand drive and fitted with a 6.2L Vortec V8 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range T230 transfer case. The body received a complete strip and respray in gray along with an aluminum roof and hinges, while the interior was retrimmed in black leather, featuring reupholstered seats, dash, and door panels. Modern amenities include air conditioning, electric front windows, an Alpine head unit with Kicker speakers, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a backup camera. Exterior highlights consist of LED lighting, aftermarket bumpers, rock sliders, rocker panel guards, a spray-on bedliner, a bed-mounted sport bar, and 18 inch Sawtooth wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, complemented by a 2 inch lift and Terrafirma shocks. The build also incorporated a stainless-steel exhaust, new gaskets and seals, fresh drivetrain fluids, and new brake pads and rotors. Showing approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) since its completion, this Defender blends timeless utility with modern performance and comfort. This is a Man's SUV!!

Owns this car

The most comfortable car I have owned. I can drive for 12 hours without getting a sore posterior. It is very agricultural and noisy (as diesels can be). You love these or hate them. It's a manual transmission 5 speed with High/Low range, which can be selected while moving, if your skillful enough and can double de-clutch. The mechanics are over-engineered as you would expect for a British designed and built vehicle. It's one of the most capable off-road vehicles as factory standard with 16" wheel travel. Full-time 4WD with center diff lock, fully at the drivers control - nothing automatic about this baby! Not like those pimped up Jeeps and Toyotas!! With 45 degree entry and departure angles and 45 degree climbing ability (on a firm surface). I was going to sell it but I think I just talked myself into keeping it! Love is strong! Primary use for this car? EVERYTHING.
