Crank up the AC/DC because the Chevy Camaro is back in black. Specifically this matte black hood, which means only one thing Camaro fans, go find your favorite racetrack because the 1LE performance package is alive again.
The hood isn't the only thing that's black, the Camaro 1LE also gets these black wheels, it also has a black rear spoiler. There's a unique black front splitter on the V8 version. This is actually the V6 version, which is the first time you can get a 1LE package on the V6 car. Either way with the 1LE package, either V6 or V8, you get massive Eagle Goodyear F1 SuperCar tires. You also get Brembo brakes. Now this car here, the V6 has got a track cooling package that includes cooling for the transmission, the engine oil and the rear differential. It's a limited slip rear differential. It's mechanical on the V6. It's electronic on the V8. The V6 gets the FE3 suspension package. That's the most track capable suspension from the regular Camaro SS. The 1LE package on the V8 actually includes an all new FE4 suspension. That's even more hunkered down, but even with this, the V6 1LE, GM says that this car is about as quick around a racetrack as the previous generation Camaro SS. Now the last Camaro had a 1LE package available only on the SS where it was $3,500. We still don't know pricing for this one, but we should find out closer to the new Camaro 1LE's on-sale date in late 2016.
